Why is there a community board if no one no one answers questions?

Now that you have read the rules of participation, you can see that this is not HP technical support.
We on this forum are all volunteers who try to help folks resolve issues with their HP products.
I do not work for HP,  I do not represent HP, and I am not a shareholder in the company.
Unfortunately, there will be several questions that go unanswered on this forum, because no one probably knows what the answer is, or even has any suggestions to offer.
Thousands of questions get anwered here with many solutions, so a general statement that 'no one answers questions,' is inaccurate to say the least.

    I'm beginning to wonder if anybody who works at Apple actually reads these posts. I've never seen so many posts with zero replies before... Where are all the supposed "gurus" that have been on this software since the beginning?     Apple doesn't provide technical assistance here. It's possible they read some of the posts, but I am sure that they always go first to the feedback channel before wading through thousands of irrelevant messages in the forums, which are for user to user help.

    There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

    Removed HomeHub 3 and replaced with another homehub 3 got a shot from my friend to test to see if HH was at fault and wow oh wow the new homehub 3 is the cause of the slow upload speeds the whole time.
    Now all i need is DeanM to place a replacement order for a new Hub and we will be laughing.

    With the battery drain issues being experienced by so many, especially those with iPhone 5, I'm wondering if anyone from Apple may have actually read these posts.With all due respect to the experts, it is clear to me that the iOS 7.1 update is causing this problem. I have turned off numerous functions on the phone, done a full back up and my phone is practically useless. I shot a 2 min video last night and then replayed it. My battery dropped from 75% to 33%. It's time Apple got the finger out and fixed this issue.

    I've got some tips for you to save up more battery:
    -close apps by multitasking
    -do NOT use brightness to the max
    -do NOT keep bluetooth, cellular data, wifi on when you do not need it
    Make sure that apple's working on this issue since so many apple users have reported this issue
    Try taking your iphone to the nearest apple store and show them your iphone, they'll test it and i guess there's an internal problem because i highly doubt that the battery could drop 42% in 4mins

    Yes, with the credentials of the account that the media/content was purchased with.
    Content is permanently tied to the account it is purchased with and cannot be merged, moved, or transferred to another account.

  • Read our user survey results - is Nokia listening?

    We have just conducted a survey here at Nokia Support Discussions where we asked for your thoughts and ideas how to improve this forum. The survey was shown randomly on the Discussions main page to a few percent of our visitors in November.
    Thanks to everyone who saw the survey and participated! We had 595 participants, and the results have now been analyzed and read carefully.
    Here are the main findings:
    Satisfaction with Discussions (1-5, 5 is the highest)
    Overall: 3.13
    The survey had an open field for comments. There were plenty of excellent ideas and notions, some of which we have also thought about here. Some of them will be implemented in the near future, some of them are still being discussed or planned.
    Here are some of the ideas and concerns that you brought up:
    "Provide official Nokia support and make sure the feedback from this forum is heard in product development"
    Some respondents were disappointed with our scope of peer-to-peer-support and wanted official Nokia representatives to be more visible on the boards. Also, many felt that Nokia is ignoring the problems and concerns that are posted here.
    When we set out to create Nokia Support Discussions, we wanted to create a meeting place for all Nokia product owners where you could help each other and troubleshoot Nokia products. Naturally this meant that suddenly there would be all sorts of questions, problems, ideas, bugs, stories and wishes right here on this Nokia website for the world to see. (Nokia Support Discussions is live on seven Nokia sites from Europe to Asia, Africa and USA so this is a very global forum.)
    So this forum created a wonderful opportunity for Nokia to hear what you all are saying.
    There are over 50 000 people working for Nokia all around the world, so there is no way how we could guarantee that every post or idea gets officially evaluated, but certainly the hottest topics and talks of the day are studied with great interest by many Nokia teams and organizations.
    Let me put it this way: it would be pretty silly for anyone involved in creating Nokia products to ignore your posts.
    There were also plenty of respondents who were pretty satisfied with the peer-to-peer support offered here. But since there are many questions that other Nokia owners can't answer - like "when is the next sw update for my phone due", or "what's the complete changelog for this sw version", many respondents wanted Nokia to answer these questions directly.
    Our position is this: whenever Nokia releases information or statements on any issue or question, we in the Discussions team do our best to make it known also here. For example, if we get a confirmation that some issue is being investigated by Nokia, we will post it here with an official note.
    All available public information about software updates is currently posted on the www.nokia.com/softwareupdate pages. So there is no further information that can be provided. In some issues the answer might be confidential for various reasons, sometimes there simply is no answer yet. If there was, it would be available on the relevant section of the website.
    Nokia.com and local Nokia websites try to provide you with the best possible information. It is quite clear that you want many things to be communicated more openly, for example with software updates. This is also clear from the posts on the Software Updates board. We in the Discussions team will continue our co-operation with all relevant Nokia organizations to make sure that the feedback and ideas that are posted here will not go unnoticed, but are reviewed, analyzed and acted upon with due urgency.
    "Allow confidential topics"
    Some respondents wanted the forum moderators to loosen up a bit and allow rumours about unannounced Nokia products, or allow procedures which may invalidate the warranty of a Nokia product to be discussed. We in the Discussions team operate under clear guidelines set by Nokia, and we will not allow confidential or even potentially harmful advice to be given on these boards.
    Sometimes it's hard to draw the line, but when it comes issues like tampering with product codes or dismantling phones - not to mention revealing confidential or secret information - the moderators will interfere.

    "No registration required / unfair moderation"
    There were a few requests to allow posts to be made without registration. This is pretty simple - without a registration system there would be no way to control these boards.
    Some people also claimed that their posts were removed without any explanation. I apologize if someone's posts have been removed, or if someone's user account has been banned, without any contact from the Discussions team. We get thousands of posts every month and sometimes it is hard for the moderators to decide when to interfere. We do not censor criticism - in fact having a forum like ours means we're asking for it - but it needs to be constructive and respectful towards other users and towards Nokia. And don't forget to read our guidelines.

    Feature wish list
    We got a lot of good ideas about how to improve the forum user interface. Many requested the ability to attach files to a post and we have now added this to all boards (this was previously only possible on the Software-board).     I hope you can get rid of the IP check altogether. It serves no real purpose. Your average script kiddie is going to try and attack a server from a single IP address and move on if he can't get anywhere. If you're under attack from an organisation with a botnet at its disposal then the protection you want is the hosting provider's responsibility upstream from the actual server, usually at the border routers. An IP check at the level it's done here doesn't come into play most of the time, and if it does it's no good to you anyway. All it does is get in the way of legitimate users since only users who are effectively logged in are subject to the control.

    There is a thread or two about the home button and how to fix it at least temporally.  It sounds like some people have found it to be a rather permanent fix.  Do search on something like "Home button won't work".  It has something to do with putting the charging cable into the phone and applying a little extra pressure upward on the key.  Don't take my word for it though look for the thread/s.  You said originally that your "Power" button was broken and the thread I have seen is about the Home Button.

    After actual cost was posted by confirming backflush, I run Tcode KKBC_PKO to check again, but Cost Component field is not assigned to actual cost.

    Additional, cost components were assigned to PLAN cost, but not assigned to ACTUAL cost.

  • Why does my iphone 4 turn off by itself randomly? I have read many posts on this and there seems to be no solution other than replacing it.

    It turns off randomly and sometimes when I try to turn it back on, it doesn't turn on right away. Sometimes it would take multiple tries before it actually turns back on. I have read many posts regarding this and there seems to be no solution. The bad thing about this also is that I don't have a warranty either.

    Because there is a hardware problem.
    Apple has an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full retail sales price, or if you qualify for upgrade pricing with your carrier you can purchase a 4S or iPhone 5 for about the same or not much more depending on storage capacity.

    You would make this a little easier if you posted a link to the page.
    Most of the jump seems to be some extra padding or margin between the tabs  when you rollover, but I am not able to find it.  Is there any other css that is governing this page? I did remove a couple of <p></p> set of tags you had  and it improved the jump, but it is still there.
    If the page is live, run it through the validator http://validator.w3.org/ , fix whatever errors it finds, if you still have the jump, post a link to the page and the issue might get found.

    iTunes does not provide this information. Their documentation suggests a couple of things you may be able to do:

    No-one is going to answer you by email - this is a forum - and if you ever feel tempted to include your email address you shouldn't as it's an invitation to spam.

  • Search "finds" emails but when I click on them to actually read them, it shows nothing. Also, the folder where these emails are located has disappeared.

    A folder that has several sub-folders (as do all my folders), has disappeared from my list of folders. Filters that would normally send new incoming emails to this folder now say, "choose folder" (they're not disabled), and of course I can't choose it anymore. When I do a search for emails that I know were in the folder, it finds them (or at least some of them, for sure; haven't checked on the hundreds) and lets me see the tops of contents, like in any normal search. So I know the emails do exist. But when I click on one to actually read it, Tbird goes through the motions of bringing the whole email up, but there's actually nothing there. The column heading are there for Data, From, Subject, Location, etc., but the there's nothing under the headings. So, I don't know what happened to the folder, and its (former) contents are out there in my computer's nether world.
    Also, don't know if this is relevant; a day ago I did a backup and restore of my profile using MozBackup because I had to have a faulty hard disc replaced on my laptop. My Profile for Thunderbird was approx. 1.6 GBytes. I get 80 or so e-mails a day. The restore went fine as far as I can tell; In fact, I think I even recall noticing that the now-missing folder was there at first, but this is the first time I've tried to use it.

    I'm not 100% sure, but I think Thunderbird has an indexing process that runs in the background - and if you were on some odd configuration, let's say you're connecting to a mail system that also used an archiving system (for instance Outlook with Symantec Enterprise Mail Vault).
    It's possible for Thunderbird to index the email (hence you can search for it) but by the time you run the search (a week, a month, or what ever later) the Symantec Enterprise Mail vault has already archived the email.
    Basically you it can search, and build an index, but anything could happen to the email between being indexed and you searching for it.

  • Having serious problems with apps on iphone 5 ios7 (have read other posts)

    My daughter has an iphone 5 with ios 7.02. Ever since she updated to ios7 she has not been able to update her apps. When she tries they grey out and are stuck on waiting. We have tried everything and I think I have read every post on the subject. I decided to work on it again today and I have deleted as many of the apps as I can, there are still some that are completely grey that don't show in any list and won't delete off the phone.
    I cannot update to ios 7.03 because it does not show that as an update. Now when you look at the app store icon it has a little #28 on it but when I go into the App Store app to see the updates it only shows 4 because I have deleted all the other apps.
    Things to know.
    This phone has only ever been in icloud.
    Never connected to the computer.
    I have tried every version of signing out of itunes, deleting apps, resetting network settings, reset by holding on/off and home button that I can read about. I'm at a loss.
    These are my main questions/concerns-
    Why won't the deleted apps come off the screen?
    Why does the App store icon show 28 but when go into the App store app it only has 4 updates?
    Why is there no ios 7.03 to update to?
    Why can't we update the 4 apps that need to be updated? (she can't use them at all)
    Even the apps that have been deleted and show to be in the cloud can't be downloaded-why not?
    I would really appreciate any help. It's been such a problem...I really don't want her to lose everything if possible. She is a 13 year old girl and would love to keep all her data etc.

    If this is only happening occasionally with incoming calls, I would check the signal strength where it occurs and also check with the carrier to have them check your account. Phone calls are a carrier responsibility, and since it seems to be a infrequent issue, I would look at the carrier first.

    Press "Command P" and when the Print dialogue box comes up, towards the bottom there is an option allowing you to choose the text size, i.e: small, med, large.
