a question is: Do we need to be in unicode to use webdynpro for abap in ECC6 ?

The problem, if you backend system is not unicode, can be, that user with the browser accessing the Webdynpro page, can enter data of any codepage (because browser is Unicode), the data will then be stored with a wrong codepage in the system and will be destroyed.
Additionally all successor versions of ERP will be Unicode only.
And on top of that, if you plan to use Java components (such as a portal), the backend must be Unicode (see Note 975768 - Deprecation of Java features with non-Unicode Backend).

You have to use DateNavigator Control to get the left hand side screen in SCC1 and
for the right hand side one you have to work with table Control
for Date Navigator UI control see WDR_TEST_EVENTS
and to get the right hand side screen see WDR_TEST_TABLE see the view SingleMarkableCell.
Using both these standard components you can achieve this.

Need to Lock PO in webdynpro for abap custom screen

Hi ,
I have one view containing one input field and one button and one table.when i enter PO number in input filed and click on button then the PO line item details will be displayed in table. i have created tcode for this webdynpro application.
Now
suppose one user by using this transaction code enters PO number and clicks on button then the PO information will be displayed in one table in the same view.
now my requirement is When another user enter the same PO number and click on button on the same time then the PO should be locked and need to raise message that '' PO is edited by another user''.
I have tried with standard lock object ie..ENQUEUE_EMEKKOS and DEQUEUE_EMEKKOS to block ekko when i click on button action code.But i could not make it.Please suggest me how can i handle this.

No, this is really nothing more than an introduction for people that have never seen a SAPgui screen before. Most ABAPers can skip right over this course. If you understand the NetWeaver architechure, then I would suggest to start withe BC400.

Need to add arial unicode MS option

I need to add Arial Unicode MS to my console option in essbase version 11 to see unicode characters. Can anyone tell me how to do this??

Hi there, not sure if this helps... but here goes. To set up your cube for unicode, you have to enable your server to have "Permission to create unicode-mode applications".
Right click on your server in EAS, then choose -> Edit -> Properties -> Security -> Permission to create Unicode-mode applications.
After that, you can set any application to be in unicode.
To do that, right click your application, then choose -> Edit Properties -> General -> Unicode Mode.
Then I think in order to see the unicode members in excel, I think you need to install the language you want to see using Windows.
I've still got to look into that more... Anyway, hope that helps.

I'll go out on a limb and naively state that using wstring rather than string will take you a long way towards solving your problem, but you might have to play around with char_traits. The general usage of wstring should be identical to string, so I'm sure you can find many examples.

Error while saving a workflow via sharepoint designer: Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.

While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error:
Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.
Steps to recreate error:
Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow.
In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
Error message is displayed as below:
After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.
Workaround
When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.
Notes
Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService
cmdlet.

It's not silly , but I'm assuming you're referring to a cloud offer. If so, if you'd looked in the terms of use, you'd have seen that you can install your software on two separate computers as long as it's only used by one person, and activated with the same Adobe ID. So you can put it on your present computer, and then install a copy on the new one when you get it.

Need Help in Splitting a String Using SQL QUERY

Hi,
I need help in splitting a string using a SQL Query:
String IS:
AFTER PAINT.ACOUSTICAL.1..9'' MEMBRAIN'I would like to seperate this string into multiple lines using the delimeter .(dot)
Sample Output should look like:

Need to convert 16X9 to 4:3 letterbox for DVD

Hello
Can anyone tell me the settings I need to convert 16X9 to 4:3 letterbox for DVD. I am mixing other 4:3 letterbox content. Evertime I make an mpeg with Quicktime conversion it is squeezed. I want it to be letterbox in 4:3

In addition to using the advice above, make sure in Compressor (or other item you use to encode) that you are using the 16:9 encode ratio. If you are using QT conversion (which it sounds like from Final Cut?) also make sure that ratio is checked. Unlike a 4:3 m2v which will be 720 x 480 when you open it in QT, the 16:9 will be 720 x 404
