Doc or docx file stop upload at 100% but never complete

My PC is Windows XP using Firefox2.0.0.7
today I start to try adobe share
I try to upload a png file is ok
then i try to upload a docx file.....
the file upload normally at start...
however, when it reach 100% the upload will not complete even
i wait for over 5mins
then i try upoload a doc but it is the same
what's the matter??

it can complete normally......
then i try to restart the Firefox and try again
then.... it can also complete normally.....
may be it is my network problem??

SQL Restore gets to 100% but never completes

Hi all,
I receive a daily database extract (differential) and a monthly full extract. Each day the full extract is restored (NoRecovery) and the differential applied (recovery) into the same database.
I had an issue this morning where the full extract commenced restoring but 6 hours later had not completed. It was showing 100% when running my dbcheck script, but would not complete. I terminated the restore, rebooted the server and tried again using a
scripted restore (usually the restore is carried out via SSIS) and the problem recurred.
I then tried deleting the DB, and the DB files, then doing the restore and this time it was successful.
Has anyone got any ideas what might have cause the problem? What issues are there when restoring over an existing database? I am trying to establish root cause - any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

Let me use a small analogic case: There are 3 steps in any Disease: first there is a
reason, that caused the second which is the disease itself, third you get the
symptoms, which can be seen.
You gave us the symptoms (backups stopped at 100%) and you asked why, I gave you the answer which is the disease (The RESTORE include several phases... and you stuck in the next), and now you came with the reason for the "stuck in the next" (your
IO problem...)
* Since we are not familiar with your system,in the forum we cant give the reason but only guess the reason and give the disease and hopefully the cure as well (which is the fourth in my analog case).

How to make a stationery out of .doc or .docx file?

Hi,
I stumbled upon a website that has some nice stationery, in .doc format. and since there few free pre made stationery available for Mail.app, at least to my knowledge, because I think I almost downloaded every free stationery available out there that could be easily found via Google. I decided to download some of these .doc stationeries and try to put them in Mail.app, but first I had to convert them into .html format. so here is what I've already tried and did not work:
first I tried opening them in TextEdit, which supports .doc out of the box, only to find out that the pictures in the documents are gone to thin air. I tried saving it and then opening it with something else like Open Office, but the pictures were permanently gone.
then I tried opening the original documents directly in Open Office, you guessed right If you said they will look screwed, and they were, and tried to save them as html, they were screwed even more.
so I did a bit of research and found out that I could use Google Docs in order to convert the documents, I uploaded them into my Google docs and then tried to open them with it, but found it that Google docs can't handle the pictures (specially background pictures) either. as a result I did more searching to find a document converter and here is what I found:
I found a few online service to convert these documents:
http://www.freefileconvert.com/ was pretty good to convert the files into an .odt format. at first I thought yes I got the solution, now I can simply convert it to html using Open Office, but unfortunately, when I saved the document in html format and checked it in Safari to see how does it look, as If I would have done the same in MS Office with the original format, it looked pretty much screwed .
So I continued to look and I found a few other online services one of them asked me to pay a fee, I skipped to the other one which was http://docx-converter.com/. unfortunately the website wasn't functioning properly I think, at least for me (maybe someone out there has succeeded using it, I don't know.) and it didn't send me anything.
Finally I found http://www.zamzar.com/ that could convert .doc or .docx documents into html, or at least that is what it claims to do so, I tried it, and after I received the file via email, I found out it only contains a bmp image of the document's background. So much for the online conversion services!
But I decided I would give it a last shot using MS Office online, so I opened up my old Windows Live mail and went into my Skydrive, I uploaded the documents and tried saving it as html, but there were no save as html (after all an online copy of MS Office should have some limitations, otherwise few people will be willing to buy a Desktop version) but this didn't made me disappointed, since I already knew, that Neither Office Word can make a clear conversion, so I tried something different, while I was in Safari looking at the document in online MS office, I saved the page as Web Archives, then I opened the file with TextEdit, and after deleting useless links and pictures, I finally managed to get a clear document with everything that supposed to be in it. At this point I only need to know how to make use of this document to create a stationery with this raw file which is in Web Archive format. any ideas?

I'm a total idiot! How did I overlook http://www.zamzar.com/ functions? I think I might have mistakenly chosen convert to BMP instead of html. I tried it and the result was very good.
OK I finally found a good solution for this problem, so everyone out there that has the same problem, here is what I did:
1. OK if you have some .doc and .docx file formats and you want to convert them into something like .html or .odt, without having to reedit the code or getting a screwed document, use http://www.freefileconvert.com/ in order to convert them into .odt so they would look as they do in MS office just go to the website and upload your documents then choose .odt, then click convert, after a few moments you will get a link to download your .odt files. you can use and play around with your document in Open Office, I have tested it and it's really good.
2. Or if you want to convert them into .html with a clean code, and all the elements in it, simply go to http://www.zamzar.com/ and then ulpoad your documents, choose .html and enter your email address, you will have your .html files zipped and sent right in your inbox, then you could use Kompozer like me, or any other html editor, to make a template out of it. I tried it and the result was nice, now I have a bunch of nice html files that I can use to make templates and email stationery.

Lost the paste and move text function in Pages '09 also suddenly can't open .doc or .docx files

A few days ago I lost the ability to open .doc or .docx files in Pages '09 version 4.3.
Today I find that I can not paste or move text within Pages.
I updated everything yesterday and still no luck.
Help....

A Google search using the terms <document "could not be opened" iwork"> turns up two possible solutions:
Pages '09 refuses to create/open existing doc after Lion upgrade
Re: The document “navidad.numbers” could not be opened.
The first discussion's solution is to delete/reinstall/update iWork. The second is to edit the underlying code within the document and remove any Unicode characters.
I recommend you go with solution no. 1. Use Yvan Koenig's script to delete iWork completely (see below), then reinstall and update iWork before attempting to open a Word document. Then let us know how you went.

I create a document in pages and then export it as doc or docx file. I then email or place the file in a drop box. When another computer opens the doc or docx the photos in the document are randomly scattered. What is the solution?

I create a document in pages with photos. I then save it and I also export it as a doc or docx file. I then email or place in a drop box the doc or docx file. The other computer opens the file in Microsoft word and the text remains in place but the photos are randomly scattered throughout the document. What is going wrong? How do I correct this problem? I really don't want to go back to a Microsoft machine.

That assumes two things:
1. That Apple would have let Microsoft have access to its file format.
2. That Microsoft would want to spend the time and trouble to write filters for file formats that Apple can't be bothered doing for its own software.

Sometimes when i open the .doc or .docx file it opens without the grey empty word window. It seems like it's happening randomly.
I also tested it out with .xlsx files (Excel) but this go's all well.
Before i forget, this all runs on a Windows 7 Enterprise environment.
Does anyone know what causes my problem, or can anyone help me?

I've been trying to make pages a default application to open .doc and .docx files instead of Textedit, but couldn't find a way?

Select a document in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, specify Pages under Open With, click on Change All, and confirm this action.

Post Lion/Unable to open .doc or .docx files from MS Word!! Ideas??

In Snow Leopard Pages (iWork '09) version 4 worked fine opening existing .doc and .docx files. Recently installed Lion and tonight needed to open a Word document. No joy. I can open as a PREVIEW but not as an editable Pages document. As a work-around, I can copy/paste PREVIEW to a new Pages document, edit and save as Word to ship back to fellow collaborator. VERY UNFRIENDLY "feature"!!!!!

I wish I had something helpful to add but I can merely say that I am seeing the exact same problems on Aperture 3.0.3, MacOS X 10.6.3 with my quad-core i7 iMac (8GB RAM, 2.8Ghz).
The export I am attempting is:
RAW from Canon 50D >export> Email Medium - JPEG (image quality 8, 1024X1024, 72dpi, sRGB, include metadata)

I am seeing some of the same side effects as others: must force-quit, can add/adjust effects but the preview updates are basically stopped.
In some instances, I've quit the app to find an export in the location I placed it but that's only happened sporadically.
I dearly hope the fix is coming...

Yes it does, but the conversion is not 100%. Pages and Word handle i.e. tables differently. Maybe a free application like LibreOffice will suite you better if the import of Word files is important.

Creating PDF's from *.doc or *.docx file with fake security issue's ......

We're trying the new 11 Pro and just patched it to:11.0.09 to try to fix this error below.
When the user tries to create a PDF from the main menu that now says "Create PDF from File" instead of the old screen that said "Create PDF" ......
If I start the process with a *.docx file I get the " can't open the file because of rights " error and it was doing the same thing in the old original installed
version of 11 and also now this the new one I just updated now to try to fix it.
I also deleted the normal.doc templates in both his old MS Word 2003 program and also in the current copy he uses MS Word 2007.
If I start the 11 Pro and pick the same document as the first one except for the fact that it has been re-saved in a *.doc MS Word 2003 format,
the whole thing works perfectly.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried to open WORD and either print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the Acrobat icon (PDF Maker)? Try both. Do they work or not. PDF Maker has to work for the functionality of the create in Acrobat to work.

How to find all doc and docx files ?

In order to find all my DOC or DOCX documents I tried with Fider - ALL FILES but see no such options to narrow down this search to only DOC or DOCX
I tried with .doc and .docx but with bad results
Once I have the list with my Word documents, I want to search for the word Music inside the files.
Anyone has a suggestion?
Also tried with Spotlight, no good either.
I use Mac OS Lion

In the Finder, choose Find (Command-F). In the search criteria, choose Kind - is - Other. In the Other text box type "Microsoft Word".
If you search by extension, such as Name - Ends with - "docx", you will miss files with extension hidden.
