Document editor and spreadsheet on mobiles

i am chasing a versatile mobile for some extensive travel. Beside music and pictures and GPS (and Radio)  I am after one that can do some simle word processing and spreadsheets- for travel diaries and budgets etc. From reading the information I can't tell if the 5800 can do this with its limited internal memory. Can anyone tell me if it is possible of if the N97 or E72 is able to do this

Hi Ken,
1. N97 - Need to purchase QuickOffice ($ 5 when i had brought it, for editable version), you have key board to type easily, you have bigger screen for better viewability. Cost of purchasing, and no shortcut options like ctrl is concern.
2. 5800 - concerns are touch screen keyboard, cost of quick office, shortcut options
3. E72 or E63 - QWERTY keyboard, pre installed quick office (editable version), shortcut keys, concern is the screen layouts.
compare all above, balance your needs and go for your option all above phones are good phones.
E72 and E63 are proper business phones.

    Thank you.

No pre-installed app that will do all that, and yes, you could buy iWork - or you could download the free (although they do seek donations) LibreOffice: http://www.libreoffice.org/ or OpenOffice: http://www.openoffice.org/porting/mac/

  • Unable to use B2B Document Editor tool to create guideline from data file

Does anyone successfully used the B2B Document Editor tool to generate the guideline doc from an HL7 data file ?
I attempted to use the SpecGenerator feature of this tool to create a guideline from the "a01.xml" sample file in the HL7 tutorials (came with the B2B installation" and the wizard kept on giving me "parsing errors" message below
"The data in the file could not be parsed. Please check the file to verify that it is valid and formatted correctly. This error can occur for one of the following reasons: A) The data file may be a Word document or have some other binary format. B) The envelope data may not be formatted properly. If this is an X12 data file, please verify that the ISA segment is the correct size (exactly 106 characters). If this is an EDIFACT data file, it must have either a UNA or begin with UNB. For other standards, verify that the envelope segments conform to the specified rules. C) The segment/record delimiters in the file are incorrect."
Any idea why ? I did not alter the sample file in anyway -- its format is exactly the same as when it was installed.
    Any helps are appreciate !!

    Hi,
I would suggest that you learn the B2B product starting with the HL7 tutorial. Start by importing the export files and follow the instructions to make the system work end to end.
Next, you want to configure for the HL7 tutorial manually using the ecs and xsd files provided in the HL7 tutorial directory. Again, ensure that the system work end to end after you have done the manual configuration.
Next, you create a new ecs and xsd file using the Document Editor from scratch and use them in your manual configuration. You can use the same doctype and version as in the tutorial so that you can be familiar with the Document Editor and at the end of this exercise, you know you have done things properly if the system works end to end. The documentation for Document Editor is mainly in the Windows Help section.
After the incremental steps above, you will have the knowledge to implement the document type and version of your project. Going straight into the requirements in your project makes it difficult to debug because they are too many moving parts.
    Hope this helps,
    Eng

  • Best iPad apps for creating and sharing word and spreadsheet documents?

I am about to take a work trip away for a few weeks and will need to create word and spreadsheet documents and share them with my colleagues back in the office. Does anyone have any tips on the best apps to do this? I'm concerned that the iWork apps might be problematic with the .pages and .numbers native formats, given that my colleagues work on ms office in a windows environment. Also, the google docs mobile experience seems to be pretty clunky, so I'm hoping someon out there has the perfect solution! Thanks in anticipation.

I use documents to go and am pleased with it. and the premium version also supports cloud storage and syncing.

(X-post from Using iPad, but thought I might get some useful responses here.)

There is no perfect solution, especially for those who need to create more complex documents (tables, etc.) and spreadsheets.   If your files are simple Quickoffice will do the job; you can set up a shared dropbox for those at the home base to access and interact with it directly through the app.  For heavy duty lifting you may want to consider accessing your  work desktop remotely using Splashtop, Logmein, gotomypc app, etc...

    Hi Mary and Matthew
You might find it helpful to "try before you buy" - there is a 30 day free trial offer for Office for Mac 2011, accessible from M's .com website.
You may be able to use this period to open and resave your old documents in a format that enables you to switch instead to using Apple's iWorks apps moving forward.
I initially intended to do something similar, but ended up buying Office as it provided an easier way (for me, at least) to continue working with years worth of old emails, letters, spreadsheets and other documents (from my PC days) without risking damage to their integrity, formatting, etc.

  • Documents and spreadsheets not displaying correctly on the task bar

When I open a series of documents or excel spreadsheets, quite often they will appear as blanks on the task bar and I have to right click - restore to be able to see a preview or select them for editing. If I do normal left click on the document nothing
    happens and they stay blank.
If I could get a picture of my desktop loaded it would show the cursor on MS word on the taskbar then above the taskbar a preview of the 4 sessions - 2 have documents you can see and 2 are blank. THe first 2 I had to right click restore to be able to see.
THe other 2 will be blank until I right click then restore

  • Creating documents and spreadsheets

Is there a way to create documents and spreadsheets on MacBook Pro without downloading something like Open Office?

You can use the built-in TextEdit for creating "simple" text documents but for spreadsheets there is no such app.
The free OpenOffice; LibreOffice or NeoOffice or the commercial Apples Pages and Numbers or Microsoft Office for Mac are the ways to go.

  • Document Editor For Nokia N97 mini Should be Intro...

    Hi,
I would really like nokia to introduce a document editor for the nokia n97 mini, since that phone has a good keyboard and the features are good, the document editor will complete the phone and it would surely be the complete multipurpose phone.

    Hi Abhishek23,
As the N97mini is an older model, its software development and maintenance cycle has ended a number of years ago. There will be no more firmware updates for this device, and every other Symbian device produced in the last few years.....as Symbian is now in maintenance mode and the focus is on the Asha line and the Windows Phone platform of which Lumia is part of.
Nokia should have brought the same improvements to N97 mini which were included in the 41.x.xxx and 42.x.xxx software versions for the C6-00. After all, apart from the camera the C6-00 is the same device as the N97 mini, so it should have been fairly trivial. They are not major changes by no means, but useful.
Unfortunately there is at least one major bug left even in the latest C6-00 firmware: http://www.developer.nokia.com/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=153
It also affects N97 mini with 30.0.004, but it appears Nokia is not going to fix it on either device.

    Hello Bluemax22
If you are getting prompts to authorized moves, you could have issues with permissions to those items and folders. Check out the article below to troubleshooting further.

  • How do document permissions differ from its document library and a content roll-up webpart?

I have an excel spreadsheet (a group schedule), in a document folder, on a page that only IT management can see/access/edit, in a site that all IT group members have access to.
         for example: http://IT Group site/IT Management Page/Schedule/2015.xlsx
On the group's homepage, I have a content roll-up web part that displays all document library contents in the group site.
IT management consists of 3 people. They can all edit the spreadsheet from the original location, but when they access the document from the content roll-up web part on the group's homepage, they cannot save any changes.
Accessing the file from here: http://IT Group site - content roll-up web part link "2015.xlsx" points to "IT Group site/IT Management Page/Schedule/2015.xlsx"
The error received says "'http://IT Group site/IT Management Page/Schedule/2015.xlsx' is read-only. To save a copy, click OK, then give the workbook a new name in the Save As dialog box."
Where would the permission issue be?
As the SharePoint site owner, I can access the file without any problems saving from either location. Also, I created an IT Management group that has full control over the IT Group site/IT Management Page, and full control over the IT Group site.
Thanks for any info you can share.
    Stephanie

    Thanks Cameron -
I have no special settings on the document library where the schedule is saved. No content approval necessary or different permissions. The library is set to open documents in client application, and check-in, check out is not activated.
I have logged in to one of their computers. They can access the spreadsheet directly from the document library and make changes freely, and save that version directly to the server, but not from any web parts. Just to test, I created a summary link web part
on the same page that lists the document library, created a link to the file, and the file opens, but they cannot save any changes without renaming the file. The only place they can truly edit the spreadsheet without renaming is from the document library
    directly.
