Document retrieval from 3rd party DMS

Hi Experts,
I need to retrieve a pdf file from an external DMS. i have to write a program that will:
1. Display the list of released Prod Orders (ALV) - done
2. Open the Corresponding BMR(batch manufacturing record) for the specified Released PO.
3. Pass 2 values from the report to the BMR pdf file
Are there FM's for this?

Hello Franklin,
I can advise you a little on the retrieval part.
I assume that the external DMS is configured as a Content Repository in your system. (OAC0)
The content repository can be identified from OAC3, based on the SAP Object type and Archiving Object type being used. Please check the protocol that has been configured within the customizing of content repository. Further, go to OAA3 and verify the method of retrieval specified in the protocol and retrieve the data accordingly from OAOR or OAER.

Migration of Documents from 3rd party software to SAP DMS

Dear Experts,
We have implemented SAP DMS . Prior to DMS we were using Third party software for creating and storing the documents.
There are abot 3000 documents in the third party software, now the challege is how we must have to migrate the DATA from 3rd party software to SAP DMS with creating Dirs. Are there any upload programmes suffice the requirement or any development needs to be done or any possibilities.
Kindly help me out in the above scenario.

Never download anything from CNET. The site is untrustworthy and is known to distribute Windows spyware intentionally.

Any links i open from 3rd party applications do not open in firefox.

To be more precise, when i click a link, Firefox does open however it does not visit the URL. It simply opens a new session. I have started Firefox in safe mode and the problem occurs, i have reset firefox to default preferences and the problem still persists. I can see no problems in the setting of Firefox itself and have already tried all the fixes available.
I am using Firefox 29.0.1 on Fedora 20 64x

As i stated, when i click links from 3rd party applications, such as skype; a youtube link or something similar. Firefox opens a new session however it does not visit the clicked url

Raising a notification from 3rd party software

We have a client looking at raising notifications within the asset management system of SAP via a sql/.net software application. The 3rd party software has a defect register which could be used to open the SAP notification. We would like to populate the fields automatically when the notification is opened.
Is there a current feature within SAP to raise single or multiple notifications via a 3rd party application?

Hi russel,
Things are where they were.
Any Function Module(BAPI here) is the ABAP part. So the solution involves 3 parties. The BAPI suggested helps in creating a Notification by receiving parameters as Inputs. Where these parameters come from? These come from 3rd party software (you called so) through interface (XI here)
Flow is like this.
Interface (XI) - Receives parameters from your Browser (assumed you called it 3rd party) and translates into SAP field names and values.
ABAP - Receives these inputs, feeds to the BAPI the output of which is a Notification.
Note:
BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE is a Notification creation tool (Function module) in ABAP. This receives SAP field values as inputs and generates a Notification. It has got a wide range of applications in regular SAP developments.

Duplicate transactions in GL Journals when imported from 3rd party

Hi All,
Normally everyday we receive data from 3rd party system will imported to GL via GL interface tables. A scheduled program 'Journal import' is being scheduled every night which was in error status since last 4 days.
So we have deleted certain transactions from the GL interface tables using delete command and imported the good ones into GL. Now when we see the amount is doubled.
Any ideas. Have we done anything wrong?

Which process chain type used when scheduling from 3rd party

Do we use Local Process Chain or Meta Chain type used when triggering PC from 3rd Party scheduling tools like Redwood..

Hi Venkat,
Select "Start Using Meta Chain or API" for the start process when running a process chain from a third party scheduling software or when calling a process chain from within another process chain.
I also believe some third party scheduling software will also work if you set the start process to "Direct Scheduling" and set the start time to immediate but I would recommend just making it a Meta Chain for tracking purposes.

You can import the wage types from 3rd party systems into SAP. Then you can run the payroll in SAP system.
Check the following description taken from help.sap.com.
You use the Import wage types function to transfer wage types from a third-party system to the
payroll results of the SAP System.

Prerequisites
You have successfully run payroll in a third-party system.
Procedure
1. In the menu, choose Import wage types   Create IDocs.
You access the IDoc Inbound Processing Via File screen.
2. In the Complete file name field, enter the name of the input file.
3. Choose Execute.
The system message contains the number of created IDocs.
4. In the menu, choose File   Import wage types   Create IDocs.
You access the Inbound Processing of IDocs Ready for Transfer screen.
5. Enter MANAGEREXTPAYROLL_INSERTOUT as the Message type and, if required, enter the
Creation date and the Creation time.
6. Choose Execute.
Result
The wage types created in the third-party system are available for further processing in the
interface tables of the SAP System.
You can then start payroll in the SAP System and perform the subsequent payroll activities:
Create a remuneration statement
Run posting to Accounting

User can't see some OID entry from 3rd party ldap browser but OAM?

after tried to applied access control to some OID entry, user then can't see that entry from 3rd party ldap browster, and this is a expected behavior, but why the same user can see that entry from user management interface of OAM?

Hi Makson,
OAM's Identity Server binds to OID as a single user* (typically an OID admin, even orcladmin) and applies only those acl's that have been defined within OAM. So when you login to OAM as end-user X, the Identity Server (eg orcladmin) checks to see what rights within OAM have been defined for User X - but in this scenario any rights defined within OID are not applied to user X. By default, OAM end-users have no access to information in ldap (although the OAM Admins have full access by default).

Would it be possible for time machine to back-up files from 3rd party software such as windows platform using parallel?

I'm wondering if it would be possible for time machine to back-up files from 3rd party software such as Windows XP using parallel software especially if it is isolated from mac? Any advise would be greatly aprreciated.

Short answer - yes Time Machine will backup everything within the Mac OS system.
Longer answer - Parallels creates a pvm disk image "Parallels Virtual Machine" which Time Machine backs up.
Due to the changes to the pvm file Time Machine is unable to read the minor changes and will somtimes do a full backup of it each time Time Machine runs and can chew through Back up drive space quite quickly.

I have researched this matter as much as I can but am still having problems.
Anyone familiar with sending emails from 3rd party email addresses via Windows Mail (Vista Home premium)?
I use Windows Mail for my sins and am fairly familar with it.
I have verified my email addresses with yahoo and activated the verification emails sent.
I still cannot send emails via the server mail.btinternet.com.
Anyone familiar with sending emails from 3rd party email addresses?
This ia the error message:
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

My server requires authentication is selected.
Outgoing Mail server log on info.

Password : correct for above account

Log on using secure password authentication: have tried with it on and off

Server address: 25
This server requires SSL: Yes.
As stated I have verified this account with BT Yahoo
I am able to set the same Windows Mail account to send via my gmail account easily.
Any suggestions please?

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
As mentioned, unset SSL when using port 25. You could try using port 587 (again without SSL set).
If you still get an error message when trying to send, can you post that ?

Per provider, SAP has developed a system so that GTS users can automatically reclassify items that are effected by a change and they have asked us to program the HS data needed.

1. Below is the HTS files provided by 3rd party company. and I noticed that there is 3 types of files. "DTR" , "Nom" and "Txt". Could you explain what are they? and If I need to upload them seperately?
2. Follow the procedure your provided - "classification > upload manually HTS codes into GTS system" Actually, I didn't find upload mannually HTS codes into GTS IN THE SAP CUSTOM Managment.
I tried "Load Traiff Code Numbers from XML files" and "Load Commodity code from XML file".
1) "Load Traiff Code Numbers from XML files"
2) "Load Commodity code from XML file".
   a) Select all files.
        - fill in "Data Provider",
        - "XML Files"-All files selected.
        - check " Output list", "simulation mode" "Nomenclature Active" and "Activate All Text Types"
        - no "Alternative Numbering Scheme" selected, and other selected.
        Error msg found:
        - Unable to find any defined structures for tariff assignment rule set "_DHSCN"
        - Incorrect order. Enter the first file(see long text)
    b)   only select "HSCN_Txt_I_00002001001.xml", the other is the same like bove.
          1. prompted to select a "From-Time Zone",   Select "UTC+8"
          2. Simulation was carried out successfully
