Document SIgnature Status becomes invalid after resigning

Hi all,
I  have a form with two Document Signature.
When i clear and resign one of the Document Signature it status is invalid.
Please suggest me a solution.
Regards,
S.V.Satish Kumar

I tested the form you posted.  Here is what I found, but I am not completely clear on what all your script is supposed to be doing.
Steps
1)  I filled in the first "comment line"
2)  I signed the first signature field
3)  Results:  The signature was valid, the document status (see screen shot 1signature_docstatus.gif) reported the signature was valid.  The signature staus was valid as displayed in the signature panel (see screen shot 1signature_detail.gif)
4)  I added and filled in a second "comment line"
5)  I signed the second signature field
6)  Results:  The first signature was valid, the second signature was valid, and the document status repored that ther were "unsigned changes" since the last signature was applied (see screen shot 2signature_docstatus.gif) The signature statuses were valid with subsequent changes made to the document as displayed in the signature panel (see screen shot 2signature_detail.gif)
Don't confuse the "exclamation" mark icon with "Invalid", it is only a warning to inform you that changes have been made that are not "digitally signed", I suspect your some part of your script is causing this. If you want to have Acrobat\Reader display a green check mark icon, then you cannot make any changes to the document after the final signature has been applied.
If you haven't done so, take a look at the sample I posted on your duplicate post in this forum ( http://forums.adobe.com/thread/492773?tstart=0 ).
If a signature is "invalid" it will display a red "X" icon.

  • Document certification becoming INVALID after Ctrl+F in Acrobat 9.  Possible bug?

    Hi
Am using document certifcation to protect my application Pdfs.  Have came across an issue where in the document certification is getting invalid.  AM also able to reproduce the error by working with pdfs outside my application. Below are the steps
    1.  Create a Pdf with 1 text field. Put some default value in the field e.g. Testing
    2.  Certify the document using File->Save As Certified Document
    3.  Close and Re-open the document.  There is a document message bar on top with text "This document is certified......"
    4.  Press Ctrl+F and search for the value in the text field (say Test).  The searched text is highlighted & selected.
    5.  Go to Advanced->Sign & Certify->Validate All Signatures.
    6.  The Certifying signature becomes crossed out and the message bar changes to "Certification is invalid"
Has someone come across this issue or Any idea why this is happening?

    Hi Steve,
Am unable to reproduce with the file attached by you.
I also tested further to analyze that the signature break is happening with all the files only for the 1st time you execute the find function i.e.
    1. Perform all the 6 steps as mentioned in my 1st post in this thread dated 6 Dec 2010.
    2. Close and Re-open the same pdf.
    3. Execute the find function by using Ctrl+F to find any text in the pdf.
    4. Validate the signatures, Certifying signature is not lost/broken
Start with a new file again and certifying signature will be broken only after 1st find and not afterwards.
Maybe this'll help in pinpointing the problem.
    Thanks

    Hi Experts,
We use Pick HU for Outbound to pick products from warehouse to packing work center
but as soon as we use pick hu in warehouse order for Out delivery and confirm the WO to pack center
the status of packing becomes complete
which should be ideally complete after we repack the products in to ship hu
is there any thing i m missing to accomplish this?

    Hi  Roopendra
I hope this is Correct as its belong to task and not activity.
And if you see activity OB02 then its has to complete at work center. This is about task.
Pack status on del for picking and not for packing activity.

After doing the update to 10.5.8, when I go into Server Admin, it says my License Key is a duplicate and locks me out of all services and only allows ten clients to connect. • Signature is invalid after signing and saving

    Hi,
I've been messing around with this problem for days and I don't find a solution.
I've a PDF document I created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2. This document will get populated with data from an XFDF file. After that, user can input data and data will be retrieved via Webservices too.
After finishing, the user has to sign the document and then it will be saved back to the server with a submit function.
When I reopen the signed document (or even after I click "save" without sending back to the server and reopening it), the signature is invalid. When I click on "Compare signed version to current version", I get the report "The pages are identical" and when I close the report, the signature isn't invalid anymore. Acrobat then writes: "At least one signature requires validating".
There are some JavaScript functions in the document which may cause the problem, but I already eliminated most of them, with docReady events, so they won't be executed on start.
Is there a way to debug the PDF document?
I've found some debugging hint on the internet from 2003 or 2004, but I can't even find the menus right now, so I think, there must be a new way for this in Acrobat 9.
I hope, someone can help me, this problem really drives me crazy.
    Thanks.
    Fritz

    Hi Fritz,
In the interest of full disclosure, I got the answer to the problem from one of my distinguished colleagues, I'm just the messenger in this case.
The problem is that the form adds some items to the Arzneispezialität / Zusatztext combobox which are there during signing but the form doesn’t remember that it did this on the next form open.
Since this field is included in the MDP+ signature and the field has changed in the re-opened version vs. the signed version, the MDP+ signature becomes invalid.
XFA has a feature that remembers these kinds of things for you but it is turned it OFF. Please open the attached screen shot to see the control in question.
So, you can either (1) turn this feature ON (Automatically), or (2) write some script to clear the combobox items prior to signing or (3) write some script to repopulate the combobox items on the subsequent open to match the items that were there during signing.

  • Status of Info packages and process changes become yellow after Unicode con

    Dear Friends,
We have been facing very critical issue in Production system after Unicode conversion.
Sequences of Details are provided for your reference.
    1.  We suspended all BW loads for 48(2 days) hours before Unicode starts and Handover the BW system to Basis.
    2.  Basis started doing Unicode conversion on BW and they found some standard jobs ( BI_* , Ex: BI_PROCESS_LOADING) which are released status and they assumed that these jobs would run any time so that they suspended all of them but they didnu2019t inform to BW team that they had done. We didnu2019t know that when they did that like pre-Unicode installation, during the Unicode conversion and post Unicode.
    3. Basis handover the system to BW team for Unicode testing (we called five finger testing) and we didnu2019t find any issues in the testing. Again we handover the system to Basis for post installations settings for Unicode and back up things. That time we didnu2019t release any jobs to load data to BW because Basis didnu2019t inform us that we can start loads.
    4. After post installation is done and basis told us that you can start loads from Monday. Entire Unicode activity had been done on weekend.
    5. Before releasing all BW loads to run regularly, I found the all completed process chains status become yellow and I did further detailed analysis to find why; then found some more strange things those are as follows.
              1. Only info packages in process chains are become yellow and other process variants are fine like activation,
                   DTPu2019s, index and DB stats.
              2. Requests in PSA which were completed successfully are become yellow.
              3. Info packages in the process chains are successfully completed are not updating correct status instead of green it
showing yellow because of that other dependent objects are not triggering.
We all thought that suspension of standard jobs must have been caused the problem.
How can we change the status of IPs, PSA and process chains automatically?
We reactivate all PCu2019s and released to run tomorrow.
Could you please share your thoughts about the issue and help us resolve?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nageswar.

    Nageswar,
    A couple of questions :
    1. If your previous  PC runs were in yellow status - it would not impact furute PC runs..
    2. If your IPAKs are in yellow - then you might have an issue with deltas happening since the last status would have been shown as incomplete.
    3. Suspension of the standard jobs will not affect the status since the jobs were suspended but not the actual loads i.e the loads were not stopped halfway but only the released jobs were stopped - you might have to schedule the process chains again to get back the old schedule.
Usually in a Unicode conversion - the data is exported out of the DB and imported back - this might have caused some inconsistency in the database for the RS tables used for the monitors.
Which version of BW are you in ..?
were there any errors in the export / import procedure for unicode conversion ?
As part of testing did you check if loads went through properly ..?
Was stats run on the tables after unicode ?
Also if possible regenerate all the indices on the files.
Rerun stats and indices for all RS* tables

  • Digital signature valid or invalid depending on the signing Windows user

I have a very strange problem and was not able to determine how to resolve it because I quite don't undestand the mechanisms of signing, it seems.
I have a digital signature issued by a member of the "Adobe Approved Trust List". If I sign a document with Adobe Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat XI Standard logged in with one Windows user account the signature appears valid on any other Windows user account. If I use another Windows user account and sign the document with the same digital signature the signature is invalid in this Windows user account and any other.
I didn't change any settings in any of the Adobe products. I use the standard configuration as present just after a fresh install.
One thing I already checked, which nevertheless doesn't explain this strange behavior, is to enable Windows-Integration in the signature configuration of the Adobe products. If this is enabled both documents (the one signed with the "good" Windows user account and the other signed in a "bad" one) show the signature as valid on any Windows account.
So I am wondering if, besides the signature itself, anything else is integrated into a document while being signed that could explain that behavior and, if this is the case, where the setting, trigger, whatsoever, is, to set up Adobe correctly.
    Please help.

What do you mean by "signature is invalid"? Is it a a red X or is it Unknown? A problem with trust results in the "Unknown" status, not "Invalid".
In any case, inspect the signature, first in the Signature panel. It will tell you some info about what's wrong with this signature. Then right-click on the signature and select "Show Signature Properties". You'll get a dialog with more info. In this dialog select "Show Signer's Certificate". Check the chain (in the left pane) and "Revocation" tab for each certificate in the chain.
Compare this info for signatures created on a "good" account and "bad". My guess is that the "bad" account is lacking some certificate-related component.and the "good account has it. The fact that if you turn on Windows integration signature becomes valid tells me that it is something related to account.
Another thing to try is this. Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security folder and see if it has CRLCache folder. If it has, delete it and try to sign again.
Also compare the preferences. Check the Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Verification->More->Verification Time preference. Is it the same on both accounts? Is it "Time when the signature was created"? Is the "Include signature's revocation status" check box in  Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Verification->More->Creation and Appearances->More checked in both accounts?

  • Document signature with date/time received stamp

Does anyone know if you can combine the feature of a date/time received stamp with the signature of the person who received it?
    Regards,
    Sean

    Hi Sean,
The way a time stamp works is that it's a signature over the document signature, kind of like when a notary public signs a document. They (the notary) are not verifying the accuracy of the document, only that you signed it and when you signed it.
Generally (can you sense that this is going to get more complicated then it should be ), a time stamp is created (by a trusted third party) at signing time to prove that the signature existed a a particular point in time. If you timestamp your signature at signing time it cannot be time stamped again by the receiving party. If the receiving party wants to add a timestamp they need to sign the document themselves. An example of this is the patent office. It doesn't matter to them what time you signed the patent application, but rather when they received it. They add their own timestamp to show what time the application was received by signing the document a second time.
Now just to confuse things a bit, starting with Acrobat 9.1.0, if the signature was not time stamped at signing time, it has the ability to add a timestamp post signing. You can add the timestamp by opening the Signature Panel, right mouse click on the signature, and select Add Verification Information from the pop-up menu. You must have a timestamp server configured in the Security Settings console and the Include signature's revocation status when signing preference selected in order for this feature to be available, and the signature must be valid. You cannot add a timestamp post signing over an invalid signature.
    I hope this helps,
    Steve

  • Problem: Objects become invalid so easily

    Hi All,
We are running Oracle 9i Standard Edition, which was downgraded from the Enterprise Edition, because they want to save $50K/year.
I have noticed even in the enterprise edition that some objects (sprocs, functions, triggers, packages) could become invalid for no reason (no schema changes and no changes in some sprocs/functions called by some others). I have googled this problem and found a few tips on the the internet and at least one seasoned DBA said Oracle objects can become invalid for no obvious reasons. After the downgrade, things got worse. The DBA runs a script to compile all packages, sprocs, functions, triggers once every hour. Then things got even worse. But I think the DBA script did not run more than once in a row to resolve some dependency issues. So now the DBA runs his script every two minutes. The problem is gone, but is there any better way to do this? Or should it happen in the first place? I figure that if Oracle runs like this, it should be out of business soon, because the MS SQL guys say they never have to explicitly re-compile invalid obejcts. At first the DBA thought that when PowerBuilder calls the sprocs, the sprocs do not re-compile because Sybase does not know how to program against Oracle. Then one day I was using SQL*Plus to run the sprocs and got the explicit error message for invalid objects and then the DBA was convinced otherwise.
    Thanks.
    Ben

Thanks a lot. Yes you are right. The re-complie did cause other objects to be invalid. that's why I asked to dba to run his script more than once in a row. Now the problem seems to be gone. But here is what I found at http://www.dbazine.com/oracle/or-articles/hordila2. It is true when a package or sproc becomes invalid, they often times do not auto re-compile. See his comments on that.
Application Malfunctions and Data InconsistenciesPart of maintaining quick response times for the database is making sure that as many objects as possible have a valid status. At least frequently used objects should not be invalid. Some objects (views, triggers, procedures, functions, packages, package bodies) can become invalid under certain circumstances: after massive data loads, imports, batches, even without explicit schema changes, after schema restructuring (drop, re-name, alter of objects). Very often, developers leave behind on purpose lots of invalid objects, to serve as a library of source code for future needs, or as a source code backup for the production objects. Some of these events are thought of as normal, or maybe bad style, while others are treated as bugs.
Anyway, if this happens, applications may stop working at all or may start working slower, incorrectly or incompletely. Mal-functioning triggers calling invalid procedures, etc., for example, can lead to data inconsistencies, missed data propagation, etc. In a complex system, this is a serious situation and may go undetected for some length of time.
Failed RecompilingFor some objects (views, triggers), the Oracle system may attempt automatically to recompile and validate them at the first run. This will slow the first runs of the application, but the system will function correctly, and be faster on the next runs. For stored programs, most of the time, this auto-recompile does not happen. The DBA needs to detect and recompile them as soon as possible.
Some objects need to be re-developed/edited for references to be successfully recompiled and to become valid again. And other objects may

  • Index becomes invalid

    Hi,
    11g on linux.
I have a batch job run from the application end to refresh the table data. The data may be loaded through sql-loader/DML.
After running of the batch job, some of the indexes becomes unusable state.
I dont suspect the index becomes invalid due to duplicate records in primary key. Since I'm able to rebuild the index manually.
I like to investigate from database end what the batch job does and make the indexes unsuable.
I'm planning to 10046 trace session trace.
Could you please share your comments, how to take this forward to find the Root Cause of what is actually happening on the objects and makes index unusable.
    Thanks

  • When do VI and queue references become invalid?

    Hi all,
I have a fairly complicated problem, so please bear with me.
    1)  I have a reentrant SubVI (let's call it VI "Assign") that has an input cluster of (VI ref, queue ref) (let's call the cluster type "Refs").  If the VI ref is invalid (first execution), the VI ref and queue ref are assigned values and are passed on as an output cluster of same type.  (The VI does other things too, but for simplicity only this is important.)
    2)  The VI that calls VI "Assign" (let's call it VI "Store") is not reentrant and has a local variable of type "Refs" that is wired to the input and output of VI "Assign".  This VI effectively stores the references.  The references returned by VI "Assign" are always valid right after the call, but after the problem condition described below, they are invalid at the start of all calls before they are passed to VI "Assign".
    3)  VI "Store" is called by multiple non-reentrant VIs, so the local variables of VI "Assign" retain their values (Has been tested and verified to retain their values).  The VI causing the problem in this case is a template VI of which multiple copies are launched (let's call it VI "Template").
The problem is that the moment an instance of VI "Template" is closed, the queue reference becomes invalid, although the actual variant value of the reference remains the same.  The VI ref can become invalid or not, depending on small changes, but is always reproducible.  I assume there must be some similarity between VI and queue refs.  After spending some time researching, the Labview help states for the Open VI Ref component "If you do not close this reference, it closes automatically after the top-level VI associated with this function executes."  In this case I assumed it means that the moment the reentrant VI "Assign" finishes, the references will get cleared ??  So I made a non-reentrant VI (let's call it VI "NR Assign") that only assigns values to the references and VI "Assign" now calls this VI (It effectively does what I described VI "Assign" does).  I keep this VI alive by using it in a VI which never terminates and since it never terminates, the references should never become invalid.  Anyone still following?  This didn't solve the problem though.  If I reproduce the same scenario using only one instance of the template VI, it works just fine.  Furthermore, the VI and queue references are never closed, to aid analysis of the problem.  Can anyone shine some light on what happens when a template VI terminates?  Could this be the problem?
Unfortunately I cannot include the code.
Thank you whoever is able to make sense of this.

    Hi all,
I have a fairly complicated problem, so please bear with me.

All LabVIEW refnums do get deallocated automatically when the top-level VI in whose hierarchy the refnum was created goes idle (stops executing). You will have to make sure that the creation of a refnum is done inside a VI hierarchy that stays running for the entire time you want to use that refnum.
