Document Title bar file path

Hi there
I see that when you hover the cursor over the title bar of a PS document the full path is displayed briefly in a tool tip.
I was just wondering if there is a way to instead have this display permanently in the title bar itself, in place of just the document name.psd
Alternately, is there somewhere else in the whole PS interface where, at a glance, the file path of the active window can be seen.
Thanks

Not in the most recent versions of Photoshop it's not.
I think the reasoning for not maintaining the path is that a Photoshop document isn't really a single file.  It's a document that may have been opened from a file, but there's no guarantee that when you save it's going to be written back to the file.
In fact, PS CS5 offers the ability to maintain separate default directories for File - Open and File - Save As operations.
So the short answer to your question is, I believe, no.

  • Batch document title from file name?

Forgive the newb question on a fairly simple matter.
I want to create File Info: Document Titles from file names, minus the extension, for about 400 images.
Is this possible with Batch rename, if so what am I missing?
    Thanks,

I am unclear how a batch rename will enter data into File Info: Document Title.
I have never used them but you might look at metadata templates.  Several sites on web on how to set them up and what they will do for you.

  • Acrobat Pro X Replaces Document Title with File Name

We process many Microsoft Word Documents into PDF. Whether or not this is the correct way to process them we use the new "Action" previously a Batch Process.
We require our documents to open "Full Width" so we run the created Action which converts the Word files to PDF and sets them to open width.
In the previous version of Acrobat (9) this worked fine. But the current version strips the document title out of the Word document and replaces it with the file name in the PDF. eg. If the title of the document set in the properties of world.doc is "Changing the world", when the action created the PDF its stripped and replaced with "world.doc"
This of course means that we must now take the time to change the title of each document so that the search engine on our intranet can correctly list it. As you can imagine a time consuming process, which until this update never had to be done.
Alternatively is there a better way to convert large numbers of Word documents to PDF that will keep all of this information intact?
    Many thanks
    Murray

Actions are not really intended for that type of work:
Actions allow a complex, guided series of events to be applied to a single file, usually with some user interactivity. They can be run over and over but usually only process one file at a time. In the example we show based on redaction, this guided interactivity is essential as only a human can decide what to redact in each document.
Batch processing applies a standard set of events to a series of files, usually without any user interactivity beyond selection and filename choices.
What happens when you try and run your Acrobat 9 batch sequence in Acrobat X?

  • Finder Copy Progress Bar File Path Reminder/Record?

Can someone please remind me if there is a way to see the actual file paths for what I am moving and where I am moving it to?
I have two copies going on which are going to take an hour or more and I need to remind myself how far into the process of sorting I am.
Basically the /folders/ are named rather generically and I am trying to make sure I can access as much as possible with respect to this.
ALSO, after the copy has completed - is there a record with file paths of what I have just done, in case I don't catch it before the Progress Bar completes...?
    Thanks.

  • When saving to SharePoint 2010, we want Word to use document title for file name

We have a template and custom Document information Panel.
In the panel we select a few values to filter the selection list of document numbers. After selection of document number the title is populated from an external list of document numbers with titles.
On initial save, the suggested file name provided by word is not the title that is already populated. If we cancel, and click save a second time the title is now the suggested file name.
Is there a workaround or fix for this issue either for sharepoint or word? To make it use the title information on the initial save attempt?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris.

    Hi  Chris,
Do you use SharePoint Designer Workflow to get and  populate the document’s file name?
If so, the  issue is caused by  delayed Workflow.
For a workaround, you can create an event  receiver  with ItemAdding method for getting and populating the document’s file name.
For more information, you can refer to the article:

  • How to see document file name with full path when hovering mouse over title bar?

    Using PS CS6, Windows 7 x64.
I was under the impression that when hovering my mouse over the document title bar, I would see a tooltip showing the full file name, including the path.  This isn't happening and I'm wondering if there is a way to do this.  I know I can click File > Save As, or Ctrl+Shift-S to see the full path, but hoving over the title bar would be easier.  (What I am seeing now in the tooltip is the file name, % magnification and which layer I have selected.  Basically, the tooltip is just showing what's in the title bar without hovering.)
    Thank you!

Hm, I wonder if it's something they may have enabled only for the Cloud version (I have 13.1.2).  If so, I didn't notice the change at the time of the upgrade.
Nope, it's not that - I have a virtual machine for testing with 13.0.1 installed...  This is what I see there:

  • Remove file path and title from PDF? URGENT

I'm creating a PDF from multiple HTML files. The HTML document title appears at the top of the PDF page and the path/filename appears at the bottom of the PDF page. How do I remove those?
I'm working from someone else's PC. When I generate PDFs from other HTML docs on my PC, the title and file path do not appear, so I figured that there must be a setting that I used once and forgot. The help has not helped, not has searching the knowledgebase. I'm using Acrobat 8 on WinXP Pro.
    Thanks!

But I'm not using the Create from Web Page option. I'm using Create from Multiple Files. I'm combining 20 files from different folders.

  • Changing Document Titles in Templates

    Hi all
I know this must be something I am missing that is easy - but
I cannot figure out how to change my Document Titles in files that
are using a single Template. They cannot be edited in the file, as
they are locked in the Template. How do I unlock the Title in the
Template so I can make the Document Titles different? This must be
an easy one - I've just been working too long today and am under a
    deadline.
    Thanks for the help -

A properly made template will allow you to edit your child
    page document
titles. The fact that you cannot means you have not used a
    properly made
template. To see what I mean, do this -
    Create a new page.
Use FILE | Save As Template..., and give it a name.
Look at the code - see the editable region around the
    <title> tag? That's
    what yours should look like.

  • Display the full file path in title bar

I apologize for my username. After getting a ton of "username already exists" I went to the keyboard crushing technique to find one that didn't.
We currently use Adobe Acrobat 9.5.4
I am assisting a user who would like the full file path of the opened PDF to display in Adobe's title bar. Right now it only displays the file name, as shown below -
Instead of "Adbove Community_ Start New Discussion.pdf" he would ideally like to have "C:\users\unamehere\desktop\filename.pdf" or the full UNC path like "\\myserver\department\projectnumber\filename.pdf".
Is this possible? Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

    Tell me about usernames...
Unfortunately, I don't think there's any control of this. Adobe regularly change what appears, but they don't let us do it.

  • Show file path in title bar CS3 Mac

Hi All, Is there a setting to make Dreamweaver CS3 Mac to
show the full path to the file in the title bar within Dreamweaver
Code View? Right now it only shows the name of the file. I work on
very complex web applications, and not having quick access to where
the file can be found is extremely frustrating, and may cause me to

  • File path in title bar for CF files only?

    G'day
When I have a CFM or CFC file open in the edit window, its full path - relative to the project - is displayed in the title bar of CFB.  With any other sort of file, just the file name is displayed.
Now... I seem to recall switching on some "show full path in title bar..." option somewhere, but I'm damned if I can find it now.  That aside, if CFB is going to show the full path for CF files, should it not display them for all files?

  • How to edit file title bar?

In Frame 7.2, when I open two or more files (stored in a folder several levels below My Documents), the path is long enough in the file title bar that it's difficult to see the file name without dragging the window to the left or shutting down some control boxes stored on the right side.
Is there a way to make Framemaker show only the file name? My alternative is to move all files up a few levels to shorten the path.
    Yours,
    Michael F
    =======

    Michael,
This is a known problem. Unless you can live with waiting for the tool tip showing the full path (at least in the most recent versions of FrameMaker), the only option is to modify this property via FDK programming. A friend of mine has a script titled In Window Title, Display File Name Only (to be used with FrameScript) in his free script collection:
    http://www.i-frame.itl.info/en/feature-description/free-scripts/in-window-title-display-fi le-name-only.html
If it really bugs you, it might be worth investing the $149 for the FrameScript plug-in to run this (and other useful) scripts.

  • Select document window title bar, cursor jumps to other screen

This has been going on for a few days now. I've restarted the Mac, etc
Mac dual G4 1.25 GHz with OSX 10.4.11
This started suddenly. I have had a dual monitor system for months now, and have never had this problem before last week.
If I have documents on my second monitor (to the left of the main screen), when I click on a non-top document, the cursor suddenly jumps (always) to the right hand monitor.
The cursor jumps horizontally to the left edge of the righthand monitor, at the same height position as the document's title bar.
Also, if I have a document on the main (righthand) monitor, which is pushed over to the right edge of the monitor, when I click the gray title bar, the cursor jumps about 200 pixels to the left.
If the documents are within about 1600 pixels of the left edge of the righthand monitor, then selecting them does NOT make the cursor jump.
    Pretty weird, huh?
Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
I've never seen this before in 15+ years of using Photoshop.

  • The window title bar displays incorrectly after publishing a flash file.  Captivate 4

When I open the .htm file after using the Flash option to publish, the wrong title displays in the title bar at the top of Internet Explorer's window; instead it displays a former file name.  I was told that the window name is determined by the field located here: File> Document Info> Project Name; however, this is not the case on my PC.  My coworker is able to publish it correctly, but I am not.  The first picture below is the IE title bar and the second is where (I think) that title bar pulls from, Project Name.  Please notice that mine differ.  Any suggestions?

I've run into this issue in CP4 as well though I've never been sure why it happens. It looks like you're opening the swf through a browser to so, for want of a solution, the easiest workaround is the edit the html file.
open it in a text editor such as Notepad.
Five or six lines down you'll find the title element which defines the title as it will display in your browser titlebar:  <title>This text is the title that displays in your browser title bar</title>
Just change the text the the title you want and save the html file.
If you go with this solution, I suggest that when you are publishing the project again you deselect the option "Export HTML" in the publish wondow. Otherwise you will have to edit your html file each time you publish.
    Hope this helps.
