Does a case made for a mac book pro fit on a mac book air?

Someone please help!!! i ordered a macbook pro case online and i have a mac book air!! will it still fit?

It works for me just fine. I typically use MBP cases for my Air, as it affords a tad more room for putting papers/stuff with my Air. I also have my Air in a Shell, so most Air cases are way too tight.
You may find your Air a little loose in the case, but it should only be a problem with a scant few cases (inasmuch as you may lose a bit of the shock protection value in a drop).

  • Does the wall charger for a 17" macbook pro work on my new Macbook Pro?

I searched for docs and specs but can't seem to come with anything. Does the wall charger for a 17" macbook pro work on my new Macbook Pro?

Well, obviously you have NO faith in me or you wouldn't ask.
Go to the Apple Store online. Search for laptop power products and look for Apple's replacement AC adaptors. One is the 60 watt model for MacBooks. The other is the 85 watt adaptor - now read this very carefully because it's in smaller, lighter print - which says for 15" and 17" MacBook Pros. Will you take Apple's word?

  • Need Loan Ammortization Software made for a Mac

We are converting from using PC's to Using Mac's One of the pieces of Software that we use is made only for the PC. I would hate to have to install Windows on the Mac just for 1 application. The program in question is T-Value. Does any one know of a software that does the same thing (or better) for the Mac. It can be a web based application too. In advance thank you to all who take time to read and advise on this.

  • Does Active directory support for linux/mac/ubuntu clients?

    Hello everyone,
I am pretty new to Active directory and my company has few requirements which he need to achieve by implementing Microsoft Active directory. I tried reading some blogs/documents on google but was not able to get the clear understanding. So would request
you all to please help me in getting the correct answers.
    1) Does AD supports linux/mac/ubuntu clients getting authenticated from it?
    2) Does AD supports root/non-root privilege login which is like admin/non-admin rights in windows for linux/mac/ubuntu?
    3) Does Password policy works well on linux/mac/ubuntu cleints?
    4) Does AD support auto-loading application after successful login in linux/mac/ubuntu clients? For eg: Logging into jabber client as soon as user logins IN.
    5) Can AD trace and log the authentication information for linux/mac/ubuntu clients?
    6) Does AD support rules based login for linux/mac/ubuntu clients?
    7) Do we have high availability in AD runing Active-Active?
    8) can we push patched/security policies via AD on linux/mac/ubuntu clients?
    9) Can we schedule crons for linux/mac/ubuntu clients via AD like we have task schedules set-up in Windows?
    10) Can linux/mac/ubuntu cleints be included part of GPO?
    11) Auto-backups or auto mapping of shared drives by AD on widnows/linux/mac/ubuntu cleints?
    12) Can we capture licenses etc(Server management) thing in AD.
    13) Does AD support communication over SSL.
    14) Does AD supports SSO authentication for linux/mac/ubuntu clients?
    Thanks guys in advance

While I cannot speak for mac clients, there is a labour intensive method that allows linux distros to be able to connect to AD in a windows environment.  Take a look at
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.12.linux.aspx
for tips.  Please note, it was designed with the Fedora/Red Hat Core in mind, but ubuntu distro's will also work, you just need the appropriate packages.

  • Does Lion allow Office for the Mac operate as it has been doing on Leopard? Or do I have to buy a new Office package?

I am reading that Office for the Mac does not work with Lion. Has anyone had this problem and how might it be solved?

Office for Mac 2004 will not work. Newer versions will.

  • I'm looking for a case/bag for the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display - any suggestions?

As the title says, I'm looking for a case or bag for the new MBP w/ Retina Display. I'd prefer either a sleeve or a backpack designed for it - not having any luck finding sleeves that are made for the MBP w/ Retina Display, and I'm thinking the ones for the other 15" MBP will be a little too big. Any suggestions?

    Look at these, very cool.

  • Non-Glossy screen for the 13" MacBook Pro...the 13" MacBook Air has it!?!?!

Sorry if this has already been discovered, but I just realized.....Why isn't there a Matte option for the screen on the 13" MacBook Pro? The 17" has always had it with an upgrade, the 15" now has the option for the upgrade, but why not the 13"??? I was trying to think what it would look like and then realized.....it would look like the MacBook Air......RIGHT? Because the MacBook air doesn't have a black frame around the screen, and its not glossy, and is the same 13" 1280 x 800, so why not bring that option to the MacBook PRO? (On second thought, I'd also like to have a 1440 x 900 option even though the fonts will be even smaller! lol I love screen space!)

As someone with 20 years professional experience in digital imaging, both in video and stills, Photoshop retouching, Quark press work, and working with everything from Binuscan to Shake, having supervised thousands of press checks and taught thousands of personnel in everything from Newspapers to video Post-houses as a consultant and trainer, I love the glossy screens for the color saturation, rich blacks and fine detail rendition.
That said, the many years of glossy Sony, Barco and Mitsu/Lacie CRT screens have taught me to use hoods and proper lighting; this goes for matte LCD screens as well, where ANY pro color-critical work should be done with a hood, such as the Hoodman or Think Tank products. That said, I have no problem in airports, outdoors, etc. using any of my glossy screen MPS, I find a properly calibrated glossy screen on these to be, at least with the latest iteration of the glossy screens available on the Unibody MBPs, eminently usable for pro color work.
The point is, at least for me, that anyplace I'd need to worry about glare and reflections on a glossy screen MBP, I also have to worry about the same on the matte screen. For example, my wife now uses my previous generation MBP matte-screen 15" LED backlit model. This is the case when I use hers when out and about. Pro work CAN and IS done by many pros who PREFER the glossy screen MBPs to their matte screen counterparts, and manage to get pro quality work done more easily on them, as it suits their taste, and somehow manages to produce results avery bit as professional as pro users on matte-screen MBPs. I know I'm in the minority here, with regard to pros who prefer glossy screen MBPs to matte-screen ones.
Since I am, after all, in the pro minority, I agree that Apple NEVER should have removed the matte option, and I'd be happy to have, and think it's the ethical thing to do, Apple not only offer matte screens on all laptop products from now on, but that they RETURN to making glossy displays on MacBook Pros (and MacBooks, for that matter) an EXTRA-COST OPTION, and make matte screen displays the standard. That's the fair and logical thing for Apple to do, and I wouldn't mind at all paying for being in the Pro minority by paying an extra $50.00 USD, or even $100.00 over a standard matte-screen display in any and al of the Apple laptop line.
The matte screen's no longer what I use on my laptops for pro work, and i prefer it that way. But I know, too, that if Apple suddenly yanked the glossy displays with NO Option AT ALL of buying a MBP with a glossy display, I'd be freakin' livid. So I empathize with those pros, and anyone else, who prefers matte screens but who've been unfairly 'locked out' by Apple from paying the same as glossy screen laptops on the 15" and the 17" UMBPs and having NO glossy option on the 13" UMBP. Makes no sense at all, to quote Husker Du. ;^) BUT- pros who prefer the glossy display MBPs (I've owned all 3 unibody MBPs, with and without the superior quality latest-generation displays- the 13" MBP, the 15" MBP and the 17"), should, IMO, have at least the option to purchase the glossy display, at least as an extra-cost option. THAT would make the most sense, since the majority of pros who use UMBPs prefer the matte screen, and that vast majority should not only have the matte-screen option, but the matte-screen discount as well!

  • In hotel w/wireless network.  ATV finds network, but does not ask me for password, so can't communicate through network.  MacBook Air, iPad and 2 iPhones connected to hotel wireless, but ATV does not ask me for the password.  Any ideas?

I have succesfully connected a MacBook Air, an iPad and two iPhones to the wireless network in this hotel.  Apple TV can see the network and "connects" to the network, but w/o asking for password.  I expected to see a screen immediately after selecting the network that asked me for the password as did all of my other devices.  ATV did not ask me for a password.  When I go to Settings>General>Network, it shows the name of the hotel wireless network, but I can't communicate with the network.  It can't set date and time.  When I try to enter my Apple account name and password, it tells me it can't log in w/o setting date and time.
Any ideas on how to connect to this network?

I am having the same problem. In my hotel when I connect my laptop a screen will pop up and you have to hit the button "I Accept Terms". However I can't do that with the ATV. I called the internet provider and they said they could not help me. Any ideas? Do you think the guy just doesn't know what he can do for me? I am thinking I will call later and hope to get a different technician who might know how to help connect me.

  • Does this case fit the iphone 5c

Hey does this case work for my new iphone 5c http://www.exotic-ideas.com/iphone-cases-skins/goodlen-wooden-iphone-5-case-skin -handmade-wooden-cases-for-iphone-5-5s-5c-walnut-rosewood-white-maple-cherry-woo d-4-choices-2-parts-clip-on.html

Talk to the vendor selling the case. We would have no way of knowing. Maybe they have different actual cases depending on the device you are purchasing it for? Contact them to see what they can tell you.

  • HT1353 why are card games that are free on my phone not free for my mac

I am wondering why the card games that I play for free on my iPhone and iPad (and PC as well) are not free for my Mac through iTunes?  It makes no sense.  I have a new 13" apple macbook pro laptop running yosemite.

iTunes does not sell anything for your Mac.
You would have to buy apps from the Mac Apps store for your Mac.
They may differ in price, because they are not the same thing.  One is an iOS app, then  other is a computer app.
The maker of the app can choose what to charge for and what not to charge for.  It could be that one contains ads and the other does not.
At the end of the day, then maker of the apps decides what to charge or if to charge.

  • I am frustrated with MAC BOOK PRO, I have 7 cases opened for same issue where System Shutdown does not happen.

Have my MAcbook Pro, since September '11 and started experiencing recurring issue where the system won't shutdown.
I have opend 7 cases since then with Apple Support performed, re-install, remove certain apps but the issue wont go away..
I would request Apple to take this product back, replace it with something new or refund..
Its not acceptable to reach out to Apple for same issue and you cannot pin point to what is going wrong with this machine.

I can't imagine why you have seven cases open for the same issue, and I imagine that that will greatly complicate getting it resolved to your satisfaction. I would contact AppleCare, provide all seven case numbers, and ask to have all of them consolidated into one unified case record -- IF that can be done without losing all the details.
You may think you are contacting Apple by posting here, but that isn't true. We are all volunteers here -- other Mac users like yourself. If another call to AppleCare with the request I've recommended above doesn't lead quickly to a satisfactory outcome, call Customer Relations at 1-800-676-2775. Be calm and polite, no matter how annoyed you are.

I´ve bought Iwork suite for my mac book pro in a retail store, 2/3 years ago, can I made any upgrade version through Itunes without paying any additional fee?
Someone could assit me on this particular issue?
    regards
    Bernardo

When you open the application you will have the opportunity to select software update.
You can also go to the App store and check under Purchases and Updates and if the update still does no appear select Store > Check for unfinished downloads.
Having said all that, please do think carefully before you do upgrade. For a great many users the latest version has been a bitter disaapointment (see various other discussions here), as it has lost considerable functionality in the drive to ensure compatitbility with iOS.

  • ICal icon on my Mac Book Air displays a circled number at the upper right corner as does Mail for new emails - how do I find out what item(s) that number is referring to? And why does it show up on the Mac Book Air and not my 4S iPhone?

A circled number appears in the upper right corner of the iCal icon on my Mac Book Air. What does it mean? How do I resolve it? Why doesn't it appear on my 4S iPhone via the iCloud?

    Glenn,
That number means that you have an event invitation. Use iCal>View>Show Notifications to choose what to do with the notification. Since OS X 10.7.2 is required for iCloud integration, I am not surprised that there are anomalies between the iPhone and the MacBook Pro.
