Does anyone know how to edit artist/song names in iTunes 12 for Windows?

Usually I could click on "Get Info" and change it from there, but now it won't let me do anything with the Get Info page. Help!

I had this same problem and I started messing with it a bit then I remembered it was a read-only file that's why it couldn't be changed. So to take this off go to the song right click it. then left click show in windows explorer. After that it will take you to where the song is located at. Right click that then left click on properties. Once that opens uncheck the box Read-Only. Then left click apply then left click ok. Close itunes. Open it again and go to the song you wanted to edit. higlight it then left click file,which is in the menu bar.(to show toolbar press ctrl+B). Go down to get info and hover mouse over it. then press shift right click it and at the same time left click it. The old get info pop-up should show and you should be able to edit from there.

I had the same problem and I used the open-source free programme Audacity which I downloaded http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/legacy_mac It is quite comprehensive and I am certainly not au fait with all it can do, but I just imported the music I wanted and then cut out the vocal stuff i didn't want and put it back into itunes, just making sure I named it with the number of seconds so not to confuse it with the original. It then should fit perfectly where ever you need to put it in your movie. I did find that I "split" the audio so that it was a little longer than I needed so it could then be finally adjusted down to the last frame in the clip. Just an idea. Using Audacity is fairly self evident. Play around with it and you will get the hang of the simple stuff. Just make sure you download the one suitable for your O/S

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Hi I am trying to update my email address since I quit work and left my work email address behind. I now only have one email address, but an iphone and ipod classic and want both of them to use the same email address - but am having problems using the address for my iphone as it is already attached to the ipod classic. take a look and good luck, it is not supported or standard but can be done.
NTFS and HFS drivers to write back and forth may be easier and better though.
or 2nd hard drive - and use NTFS along with HFS driver as needed.

You cannot do this with iPhoto, but you can with PhotoPresenter.

Does anyone know how to keep all songs in the same album when they say featuring someone?

Each time I load a CD onto Itunes that has an artist who features another artist on that particular song, it puts it in my library as a separate CD even though it will have the same album listed. For instance Lady Gaga's song just dance features Colby O'Donnis that song is in its own spot while the rest of the cd is together that one song is separate and I don't know how to keep them all together. Someone help.

Get the Informations for that song and have a look in the "Sorting" area if there is something different. The data inserted there is just for how iTunes will order the songs.
If the Interpret in the general informations is "Lady Gaga" and in the sorting area is "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx" than you'll see Lady Gaga as the interpret but it's sort to a second entry "Lady Gaga feat. xxxx".

i have songs that i want to delete. half of the songs are my kids songs and i dont like them. does anyone have any ideas.

I just looked at my duplicate downloads again. All are listed as iTunes, Version 11.2.2, Installed May 30, 2014 (4 copies of what looks like the exact same download) and then May 29, 2 copies, again looks like exact same thing because the only difference is the date - not the number of the download, or the description. So this is how I have 6 downloads, when I probably only need one of these. Wish someone would shed some light on this so that I can clean it up. Does anyone know how I can transfer songs from my old Dell Digital Jukebox to iTunes so I can sync them to my nano?

I have a new Windows 8.1 pc, and a new iPod nano 7th gen. How do I upload songs from my old Dell Digital Jukebox (yes, I know it's a dinosaur, but it still works great) to iTunes so I can sync those songs over to the nano?

Also, I should mention that I spoke to an Apple rep. He sent me a link to download a driver for the Jukebox once we found out that the pc did not recognize the device when I plugged it into the USB port. He told me that once I upload the driver, it will recognize it and I can just copy and paste the songs into a folder, then import them to iTunes. So far it has not worked and when I tried to call back, it looks like morning is the soonest I can speak to someone. So I'm trying on here.

Hello,
Myself and some comrades have been producing a podcast for a few weeks now. We were approved to be on the iTunes store, and subsequently available as a subscription thru iTunes... The problem is that for a few days the hosting site we're using wasn't working and we couldn't upload mp3 files, so we were publishing episodes and for the audio we were uploading them onto an alternate site and linking the audio to the published podcast so they would still be available for subscibers thru iTunes. Now, the hosting site is working again, and I'm trying to edit the episodes that were published using links to the alternate sites and change them so that they're using the audio from my hosting site. I've editted the episodes on the hosting site, but even after doing a 'podcast refresh' (ping) the old episodes are still showing up on itunes...
Anyone have any ideas on how to delete or edit individual episodes on itunes without deleting the entire podcast???

You'll see what i mean if you see the podcast blog site, the post at the top, "Anarcho-Syndicalism" is published by uploading the mp3 onto the hosting site, the post underneath that, "the coming insurrection (part 2)" is when the upload function wasn't working, and it just has a link to the mp3 hosted on another site. (itunes subscribers still can listen to it, and it doesn't appear different, but for visitors who usually listen using a live stream from the host, it looks different) I'm trying to go from the second post's setup to the first post's setup without re-posting it and having the same file show up twice in itunes which has already happened. also, since i did that already (deleted the post, then re-published it), is there a way to delete the first file (episode) that still shows in itunes for subscribers to our channel??

I just got a new laptop (Windows) and downloaded the new iTunes on it. It scanned my computer for music, and after it was done there were up to 5 copies of each song in the library. The "old" itunes used to have an option to remove duplicates but I cannot find a way to do that in the new iTunes. Anyone know?

The show duplicates/show exact duplicates features have been left out of iTunes 11. Rumor suggests they will be restored in the next build. In the meantime I have written two Windows scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates, either from a selection of tracks or the entire library.
If you want to manually remove duplicate tracks use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.

I have no problem gelting my books from iTunes to iPad. Problem is, now there is lot lot of books in iTunes, and tis difficult to figure out which i havnet read. So how do i remove them from iTunes. Hope there is a way.

You can definitely delete the books from iTunes! It is the same as deleting anything else from iTunes:
Delete an item from your library
Click the item to select it, and press the Delete key.
Click Delete Item.
Do one of the following:
Remove the item only from your iTunes library: Click Keep File.
Delete the item from your computer: Click Move to Recycle Bin. The item is removed the next time you empty the Recycle Bin.

Does anyone know how to organize your songs on your iPhone by artist so they are chronilogicily(sp?) in order by Artist. I did it on my iPad but forgot how. : /

There is no way to remotely track any device that is turned off, or does not have an internet data connection. In that case, no remote system can possible communicate with the device, nor the device send any information to any remote server. Any device, not merely an iPhone, shares that same limitation. Remote tracking is only possible if the device and the tracking system can talk to eachother.
Apple does not offer any other feature because they are not a law enforcement agency. They are bound by the same privacy laws that keep you from snooping in somebody's house just because you claim they have something of yours.
Of course there are alternate ways to track a powered on and connected cell phone, but Apple has neither the legal nor the moral authority to do such things. Just because something is technically possible does not mean that any big company and just go out and do them.
Since when is it always "someone else's" fault and responsibility to deal with your lost or stolen private property? I don't get this mentality of passing either the blame or the responsibility on to someone else.
