Does anyone still discuss Captivate Version 1 issues?

I attempt to insert .swf video files as animation directly into a slide, and although I can see and hear the video perfectly in the Properties Window, when I click Apply, the video is inserted into the slide with a still image of the video clearly visible, and then the sound repeats, without being able to stop it short of deleting the object from the slide. Clicking directly on the image in the slide does not play the video, and the sound just keeps looping.
I have also attempted to insert the original .avi file and let Captivate convert it on the fly, with the same results as above.
These are fairly brief video clips (anywhere from 25 to 45 seconds), and can range in size from 4 to 8Mb.
I use the AVS File Converter to get my .swf files from .avi files.
Thanks for any information that may be available.

Hi-
Welcome to Discussions!
You probably need to reinstall or update your USB drivers. Please see the following:

If you still want to downgrade, you can get previous versions of iTunes here:

I, for one, haven't upgraded from v.7. Don't see the need......
There are some fine points to a reinstall, and the following document should lead you to answers to any issues you may encounter:
