Does applecare plus cover iphone usb cable?

My husband and I both have the 4s and our cables don't always chargd the phones. We have applecare plus on them both, will that cover the cords?

do the math? Sorry for asking a question!
Precisely. I am going under the assumption that Apple will consider the cable user damaged
Unless they are simply not working and are not damaged.
They may be covered even if they are simply are "worn out".
Certainly worth asking about. If Apple says they are user damaged" and not covered,  then just buy the cables.
In any case, Apple will NOT replace an iPhone unless the iPhone is actually damaged and not working correctly.
Apple will not replace iPhone simply for cosmetic damage.
Applecare+ will replace a user damaged device for a cost of $49.00
Apple will replace a user damaged iPhone (now $79, not $49).
A cable is not replaced for $49/$79
Apple will only replace a malfunctioning/non-working item. If the cable is bad, they will not replace the iPhone.

  • IPhone USB cable question...

Can someone please confirm what passes thru with the original iPhone USB cable that it comes with:
I know it pass DATA and CHARGE, however i need to know if it also sends AUDIO thru.
I am about to purchase a new car stereo, a pioneer unit, and i went to a local retailer to try out. i plugged in my iphone with the original cable to the radio, and the radio detected- ipod, started playing my playlist, but since the DEMO unit didn't have the audio hooked up, i couldnt confirm that all was good.
pioneer suggests their proprietary cable for ipod/iphone, and it looks just like the original cable.
    thanks for any response.

I have similar problem, new iPhone 4 standard cable connect to usb port in my car, nothing works. Same phone and cable in my sons car, everything ok all working fine.... Hyundai say it's the phone logic say it's the car!

  • Iphone usb cable shuts down laptop with error any ideas why

every time i unplug the iphone usb cable it shuts down laptop with an error,i'm running windows7 on laptop and get a blue screen error.

This is a common problem with corrupt USB drivers. Try using a different user account, and make sure that you eject the device properly before removing the iphone cable. I don't know what system your running so I can't link you to any USB drivers, but google is always your friend. If all else fails, un-install itunes, re-install it again, back it up with all your documents to a USB drive, then re-install windows 7. Not pleasent, but possible.

  • Does the MX892 connect via USB cable

Even though this is a wireless printer, can I just leave the usb cable attached and by pass setting up a wireless system?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi Zenjoo, thanks for posting!  The PIXMA MX892 can be plugged into the computer via a standard USB printer cable, as well as be connected wirelessly.  Please note that the printer does not come with a USB cable, you will be required to use the cable off your old printer, or supply your own.  We hope this helps!

  • Newer iPhone USB cables tear at the ends, unlike old style iPhone USB cable

Has anyone been seeing their iPhone USB cables tear at the ends after a year? This has been happening with the newer USB cable style, but not the older ones.
    http://i.imgur.com/KjGUx.jpg (USB ends)
    http://i.imgur.com/ueJ9m.jpg (30-pin connector ends)
For the USB ends, the older style had a plastic cylindrical section covering the joint where the cable and USB head met. The same goes for the 30-pin connector end.

Oh yeah. Our household has torn a total of three already in precisely that way. In fact, the one I'm using as we speak to connect my iPhone 3G to my computer is actually shredded from both ends (though the USB end is worse; the other two were also only torn at the USB ends).
Sure one might attribute that to "user abuse" -- I don't know that any of us have been particularly
gentle with our respective iPod and iPhone cables -- but personally I've found that the new cables (as opposed to the old cable that came with my first iPod) break in exactly this way unusually easy, without any extra unkind handling. Surely such an essential part should be able to last ordinary use beyond the first year?

  • Transfer AppleCare Plus to iPhone 5

I bought a used iPhone 4S 64GB on eBay with AppleCare Plus included.  It shows on the Apple site when I sign in to my AppleID.  Does that make it officially in my name?
I am curious because I may trade in my 4S 64GB at the Sprint Store for an iPhone 5 64GB.  They offer $300 out right off the purchase price and I just pay the delta of $99.  I know I could get more by seeking out right on eBay but consider most don't go for the 64GB model and after fees & shipping, I don't think it'll amount to enough for the hassle.
I read that you can't transfer ACP to another phone but Apple will prorate a refund.  Does anyone know how that works toward a new ACP or if you can transfer the remainder to the new iPhone?
    Thanks!

You could call apple to find out?  No apple employees frequent these boards, so you'll only get speculation here. A 2 minute call to Apple will answer everything.

  • IPhone + USB cable + netbook = Sudden shut down

This problem started recently. When I plug my iPhone (original) into my netbook, an HP Mini 1101 it just shuts off. Not like a true shut off where all the lights go off, but the screen goes black & you can slightly hear the fan running but it doesn't respond to any keyboard or touchpad input.
This wasn't always the case. My mom also has the very same netbook so I tried that & the same result occurred.
I also have a HP Pavilion DV6426US notebook & I could plug it in & use it fine, but the cable I use (an Apple USB cable I got with my iPod classic current generation) it disconnects if I move the slightest, which is why I usually plug it into my netbook until this problem emerged.
    Anyone know what's up?
    Thanks.

    anyone?

  • How does one print using a usb cable on the mg6420?

My Internet connection is down...need to print for new employment!  I'm using a MacBook Pro.

As long as you already installed the drivers, when you plug in the USB cable it should automatically add a USB instance of the printer into system preferences (so, if you had the wireless version installed before, you would have 2 options now, MG6400 series and MG6400 series copy 1, or something similar). As long as you select the new instance of the printer you should be able to print via USB fine.

  • Does applecare+(plus) offer any deals on upgrading phones when paying the 49$ to replace an accidently damaged phone? If so please give details and possible prices. iPhone 4 to iPhone 5

Water damaged phone, volume stuck going up and camera does not turn on. I am covered by applecare+, but just wondering if i can get any deals or if it's possible to upgrade the replacement phone for a fee?

"So just to clear up, they wouldn't give me a reduction on buying an iphone 5 if i were to give them my iphone 4+49$+whatever the iphone 5 costs with a reduction?"
    Correct.
You will ge tthe exact same model.
If you want a different model, then you would have to purchase like anyone else.

  • Does Applecare Protection cover MBPr display that has been replaced previously under original 12mo warranty?

I purchased my MBPr a little under a year ago and am contemplating buying the applecare protection plan to cover me for the next 2 years. The main reason for this is that I needed to have the original display replaced ~5 months ago due to image ghosting issues (LG original, Samsung replacement). My confusion comes when I look at what Apple categorizes under Hardware Coverage...from the Store website (link below), the last bullet point states "Apple display purchased with your Mac."
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/APPLECAREMBP-102583/applecare-protection-plan- for-macbook-pro
Does this mean that since it's a replacement display that it would not be covered under the protection plan? That notion seems shady and ridiculous to me, but I wanted to make sure before I go and spend even more money on this machine.
    Any advice would be appreciated...thanks!

As long as the replacement was done by Apple, or an Apple Authorized Service Center, then your remaining warranty continues and includes the replacement part.  Any work performed under your warranty means your warranty remains fully intact, and it then covers the replacement parts and repairs.

  • My MacBook Pro does not recognize my iPhone 4 when I connect with USB

As the subject line says, when I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook Pro via the USB cable, it normaaaally opens iTunes and iPhoto automatically and syncs and imports photos from the phone. But, for some reason, that doesn't happen anymore... Now when I plug in my iPhone with the USB...nothing happens.
The USB still works as a power charger. I even tried a different newer iPhone USB cable from my friend's phone...same problem. I tried both USB ports.
I update my iPhone, my Mac, my itunes, my iphoto...everything. I reset everything at least a couple times. Still no luck!
I did a Disk Utility verify check...it found no problems, the volume 'appears to be ok.'
The iPhone still syncs with iTunes over WiFi, but unfortunately I can't back up my photos from my iPhone wirelessly (I don't have iCloud set up). I want to do it via USB.
Anyone out there with any advice on how to get my computer to recognize my iPhone?
    THANK YOU!!!

Ive been struggling with this problem all day, I was trying to upload my pics and videos from my iPhone 4s (version IOS-7) and my computer didn't seem to recognize my phone. Well I finally gave up.  My iphone was plugged into my computer via USB, and my iPhoto would not open up automatically like it always had before I updated to IOS-7.
As a last ditch effort I happened to open up my software updates in the apple icon. Lo and behold, once I agreed to update my iTunes app on my mac OSX 10.6.8, it opened my iTunes and a window popped open asking me to click on 'trust this computer'. I did that, and suddenly my iPhoto opened up and filled up with all of my iphone 4s (version IOS 7.1.1) pictures and videos!  I could not find an answer anywhere online. I guess the trick is to manually open up iTunes before you attempt to upload pictures/videos from your iPhone into iPhoto.

  • My ipad won't charge.  All I get is picture of white USB cable and iTunes Logo.

My ipad won't charge.  I must admit, I did use it until there was only 2% power left and then went and plugged directly into power and not through PC... but it won't charge.  All I get is picture of white USB cable, an arrow and the iTunes Logo.  I have turned off and on again as previous posts but all I get is the picture of the USB cable, arrow and iTunes logo.  Please help...

I have been relatively patient - 3 hours on charge but all it does is show picture of USB cable and itunes logo. It it were charging you would think that a picture of the charge would come up to indicate status of charge - wouldn't you think?

  • Frayed USB cables

    Hey guys!
In the past 4 weeks I have been through 2 iPhone USB cable.. And they have both frayed. I have had 1 since the iPhone came out, then I got the second one due to the 1st one fraying. I never rang Apple because I couldn't be bothered going through their return procedure.. So, I just went to the shop and bought one. Now this one has frayed.. I have the worst luck with Apple. Everything Apple (Even USB cables) have broken. I only buy them because Apple's customer service is fantastic!
I have a broken Macbook Pro as well. I am on my 3rd one.. This one has a flickering screen. That's a different story....
Anyway - what do I do to get these cables fixed?
Thanks for your help, in advance!
    Carl

I don't think the cables can be 'fixed' (only replaced) - prevention is the way to go.
Can you think of any way you may be mistreating the cables? When you connect/disconnect, do you grasp the cable by the plug (correct) or by the cable (incorrect)? I have over 10 iPods/iPhones, and I've never had a cable fray.
