Does Family Sharing let family members share iCloud storage?

i Have 200 Gb in my iCloud plan. I am using 20 Gb of that. Can my family members use the other space, or does everyone need his or her own drive?

Storage amount can not be shared currently.

    Hi, Confused As Always CB.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Hopefully I can help resolve this issue for you.  Try removing the preference to sync calendar events in iCloud preferences.  Once this is down enable the preference again and see if this resolves the issue.
Turn iCloud Calendars off and back on:
    Quit Calendar (or iCal).
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then select iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Calendars.
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and select iCloud.
Replace the checkmark next to Calendars.
    Close System Preferences.
Open Calendar (or iCal) and test to see if the issue is resolved.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
If the issue persists, try all remaining steps in the article below.

  • Does home sharing allow me to share my iTunes library with other users on the same imac

Does home sharing allow me to share my iTunes library with other users on the same imac?

Apparently so (as long as each user operates out of a different Mac User account).
After setting up home sharing in the various different user accounts on the Mac, you need to have iTunes open in the account that you want to Home Share from.
Now use fast User Switching to get into the account that you want to Home Share to. Launch iTunes in there. The library in the other account should appear as shared for you.

  • Is there a way to share icloud storage plan with family members?

I have set-up my icloud storage plan to 200G and i want to share the plan with my husband that only has the default, can i do that? I already have family sharing of photos, apps, etc.. but i want to share storage space. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but iCloud Storage is tied directly to the iCloud ID that it is linked to, and only to that ID.
    Sorry

  • HT4847 can you share icloud storage space with a family member?

I used to have MobileMe family, and my wife and I are now both receiving alerts that we are running out of icloud space. Can you buy a shared icloud plan?
    Thanks

If you are both using the same Apple ID, then you can share the iCloud storage that you have. However sharing an Apple ID for iCloud is not really recommended, it results in confusion over contacts, calendar, notes etc etc.

  • Can family members share rental movies?

    Hi!
I wonder if family members (using the Family Sharing feature) can watch rental movies. When I search the internet, I have found info that says one can do so. But it does not work.
My husband and I have set up Family Sharing (and the credit card that pays for it all, is mine), bit it is not possible for me to see the movie he have rented. I can see all his music and visa versa, but not the rental movies.
I find this strange, and not in line with the intention Apple has proclaimed regarding Family Sharing. I pay for the fun, but am not able to watch???
Or is it suppose to work, but does not because of a bug?

Just tested this.  You have to enter the Apple ID Password for the device you are trying to remote erase.  You CAN put the device in lost mode without the password, but you cannot initiate a remote wipe without the password for the device.

  • Can I share iCloud storage with my family share?

looking to upgrade my storage but 200gb is a little excessive for me. Can I share that with my wife who is linked with me in my family share?

Perhaps you should read these Apple documents about what is stored by iCloud.  The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview:
Your iCloud account includes 5 GB of free storage for iCloud Mail, Documents in the Cloud, and your iOS device backups. Your purchased music, apps, books, and TV shows, as well as your photo stream, don’t count against the 5 GB of free storage ........
    Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksPurchased music isn’t backed up in all countries. Purchased movies and TV shows are backed up only in the U.S. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore. Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. A movie’s product details page in the iTunes Store shows if the movie is unavailable.

  • HT3819 Does Home Sharing count as part of my storage quota on iCloud?

I would like to be able to share my (very large) iTunes music library with my family. I have ripped my entire CD collection, and I'm sure many of the albums are not available on iTunes. Will Home Sharing use my iCloud storage quota? If I have to purchase extra storage in order to share the disks I've already purchased, then I will not be using Home Sharing. We used to be able to share CDs by...sharing CDs. No need to pay extra!

Home Sharing is between computers and devices on a local network, not iCloud, so it shouldn't affect that.

  • Can two family members share downloads on different accounts in different states?

  • Can my family members share our purchases on separate computers with separate accounts?

We have several apple products in our home and a  new one today.  Is it possible to use these products on different computers sharing all of our purhcases or do we need to stay on one computer on one account?  I know we can do that with the home sharing, but we don't all want all the same things, just some of the purchases.

Use Find My Friends app instead.   Much easier to manage, and you won't need each other's id/pw's to do it.   They only need to accept your invitations and vice versa.

  • ICloud with multiple family members sharing one iTunes account?

How will iCloud work for the case where multiple family members share an iTunes account but each has his/her own iPhone/iPad/PC?
Will iCloud replicate content based on email address, unique Apple ID, iTunes account, or??  If iTunes, we could have trouble as three of us share our iTunes account (started when our daughter was young and continued for simplicity).

Keep one Apple ID for iTunes purchases (apps, music, etc.) for all family members on the iTunes Store and use different Apple IDs for each iCloud user. That worked for me.

  • Sharing apps with other family members

My husband and I have a desktop and two iPod touches. We have no problem sharing apps as we are using the same apple id.
I turned on home sharing so that I could share a couple of apps that we have purchased with my daughter. We authorized her laptop. We than transfered the purchased apps to  her laptop. Then, we transfered the apps to her iPod. We turned on home sharing on the iPod. She can't open the apps. They appear to open but do not complete. If we have to use the same apple ID on her iPod to access the apps, it seems rather silly to allow us to transfer apps as well as music via home sharing from one computer to the other. I hope I am just doing something wrong. I really think that she should be able to purchase apps and music herself with her own id if wanted rather than having to pay me back for purchases made with my account.
I think Apple has made this far too complicated.

I figured out how to do it. If it has nothing to do with home sharing, then why does home sharing let you set to automatically copy all apps purchased on one computer to another if home sharing is on on that computer. Unfortunately, even though home sharing appears to allow it, it doesn't work properly that way. But, all I had to do was log in to my apple id on her iPod and then download the apps that I  had purchased on her iPod and then I logged back out and the apps worked. I did the same with her iTunes.

  • HT201318 can icloud storage be shared for backups ?

If i have family sharing setup and I am the primary,
can all of the family members share in my iCloud space for iphone backup storage ?
we have four iphones in our family share, but only I have expanded my iCloud storage beyond the free 5GB
Will the other family phones (which are in the family share, but have their own appleIDs) be able to use my
expanded iCloud space for device backups ?

This is not a solution for this issue.
Since it appears to be the most limited in terms of available services, let's use the PlayStation Vita as our specific case.
The PlayStation Vita can only see Google Calendars that have been created by the account to which it is synced. This means that even calendars that are subscribed to using Google Calendar are not visible.
For the PlayStation Vita to see the necessary calendar data, is not even sufficient to simply subscribe to the iCloud calendar feed. This requires a workaround anyhow, because the robots file on iCloud thwarts Google's sync. The calendar data must appear on the specific Google account's calendar under "My Calendars."
In previous versions of iCal, prior to the introduction of direct Exchange sync and the rename to Calendar, there was an option to "sync" with Google Calendar. This was an actual sync in the manner of the changes on the MobileMe calendar being written to Google, and the Google Calendar changes being written to iCal. This was handled by the OS, so the computer managing the sync would have to be connected in order for the sync to happen.
This is exactly what I am looking to replicate. I fear that it is no longer an option, no matter which way you slice it.
