Does Imovie have the same capabilities on an Ipad2 as it does on an Imac?

I am learning how to use Imovie, and i would like to be able to pull clips from movies, newscasts, and youtube, if i can, and use them in my own original videos,(similar to what The Liberal Viewer on Youtube does) then post them to my Youtube channel.
I need a better Imac, mine is about 6 years old and Imovie shuts itself down while i am using it. I was considering keeping it though, since it works ok for my basic needs, and perhaps getting an Ipad2 for movie making. But i am a novice on computers and was wondering if it would be easier for me to learn Imovie on a MAc. Thanks!

No they are separate applications. The iMovie on iPad is pretty basic and really optimized for footage taken with an IOS device.
If you are only interested in really basic editing and using footage from say the iPad then you should be OK.

I don't think iMovie can pull movies of the Internet. You might need to use a different program, then import into iMovie on the iPad (iMovie for iOS). It might be easier to accomplish all these steps on an iMac as I don't know what conversion programs for downloaded videos are available for iOS on the iPad. On the Mac everyone on the iMovie Discussion Group recommends MPEG Streamclip for doing conversions that are compatible with iMovie.
There is also an iMovie on iOS group you could post this question in maybe get a better answer from folks using iMovie on iOS, as this is the general desktop iMovie Discussion Group. You can find that group at this link:

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.
my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why? Try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTUnes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and see if it'll work
If the computer sees your iPad you know the cable and connection is good, so the issue has to be software.

I downloaded and tried EasyFind. It works but it took 30+ seconds to complete finding 3 files that are on One of my Five 25+ Gb partitions of my 130 Gb Seagate Cuda(Really 160 Gb, but my Sawtooth will only recognize 130) I figured that if I ever got a better box, I could reformat it to see the whole 160 Gb. So, as far as I can see, Spotlight's indexing scheme which finds the files instantly is probably preferable. Spot light allows you to rename your files from within it's app window. I've always thought that was pretty powerful. Could my doing so be causing me any issues? As i said it is the inability to Type in the Finder that seemed to be caused from changing file Extentions that were mis-written. Maybe it was a delayed reaction to my renaming files in the Spotlight app? I've done both on occasion.
As for these .DS_Store files. Apparently you can NOT stop them from being written to any folder that you touch/open/view during a days session. But, as a function of the OS, are the essential to have in their respective folders Forever? I've looked at the .DS_Store terminator app briefly and assume that getting rid of these files won't hurt the regular operation of my OS. They will just be re-written if I ever have to go back to any particular folder again. But, apparently, some have said that if the plan on burning a CD or DVD of their data, they delete the .DS_Store files first and then do the burn.
I'm thinking from your having suggested this tremination app that you suspect that my having all of these ,DS_Store files could be a situation where any of them could have become corrupted and terminating them regularly should be part of my regular maintenance.
Does that sound like I'm understanding what I can do?

Yup, i have the same issue, i reported this with apple and there is ticket opened for me with
the engineering section. more that month still not solved. I was hope after update to IOS 8.1.3 to fix!

I have the same problem. After the upgrade, my wifi is greyed out, and the battery won't hold a charge long. I reset all the settings, tried all the things suggested by Apple, but it didn't work. I took the phone to Verizon, but they said they can't fix it, go to Apple
I made an appointment at the Genius bar, where the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. A representative told me that the wi-fi is broken and I would need to buy a new phone for $200, because mine is out of warranty.
