Does Journal in icloud have password protection

I would like to share different iphoto journals with family and friends but I do not want to give everyone access to every journal in my icloud account.
Can a username and password be assigned to access journals? Or will this be a possible update in the future?

Concerning Lion and iOS5 :
the notes faciltiy in iOS5 devices is synced via iCloud, yes : your notes will be received in your icloud email account on the Mac. Just make sure you enable mail and notes in icloud panel on both ios and lion.
"Sticky Notes" : No Syncing available ( and I doubt Apple cares much for that : the app is a relict from OS classic ) .

That is simply because you have checked an option to remember the password. Open Mail preferences, click on the Accounts icon in the toolbar. In the dialog under your username you should see your password (not displayed.) Remove the password entry. From now on Mail will prompt for a password before attempting to fetch mail. This does not mask the Inbox in any way but it does prevent anyone from getting new mail without a password. There is no direct way to actually password protect the entire Inbox.
I'm still not clear as to why you need to do this or what specifically you want to accomplish. I don't know if simply logging out of your account when you aren't by the computer would not satisfy your security need or requiring a password to wake up the computer via the screensaver. Maybe you could explain things more to us.

Does single user mode bypass password protection?

Does booting into single user mode bypass account password protection? From what I can see single user mode allows me to access the entire hard disk as root. Is this one of the reasons for open firmware password protection?

Unfortunately there is nowhere to put a padlock on the case of an iMac G5. Perhaps I will wrap it in a chain at night. I think it might spoil the design, unless Apple could release an iPadlock and iChain in a cool white with silver trim.
I have experimented with Filevault in the past and I have heard of the risks you describe - I may even have read the posts in question when I was researching it. I decided not to use it in the end, because the risks and extra login time weren't worthwhile for me.
I had thought that having a login password was sufficient to prevent access to my files on the machine, but now I know single user mode circumvents this. I think I may just save important files to an encrypted disk image.
I do encrypt my backup, though this prevents it from being bootable. I am currently working on having a minimal bootable partition plus an encrypted backup partition on my backup disk.

Why does ical on icloud have a different lay out than on my mac

Why does iCal on my MacBook Pro have a different lay out than on iCloud? I like the iCloud layout better, the only missing niceties is the year calendar. How do I get both iCals to look the same? The ideal iCal? The one from iCloud WITH the year calendar.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

There is a user guide in Safari. It is in the bookmarks of Safari. You can also download the user guide in book form - free - in the iBookstore. I like the book version the best of all three user guides - the pdf referenced above - the Safari bookmark and the iBook version that I am describing.

Cannot publish new password protected sites to MobileMe using iWeb

Recently been getting the familiar iWeb error messages when publishing from iWeb to mobile me:
"There was an error updating MobileMe"
"An error occurred while publishing file '/Web/Sites/Sites.rss"
"Publish error: An unknown error occurred"
Did all the troubleshooting stuff detailed here - problem persists.
Today, tho', I've just noticed that these errors *only occur when I'm trying to publish a new password-protected site or trying to apply password-protection to an existing unprotected site*.
It works just fine when publishing a site which is not password-protected. It is also possible to modify an existing password-protected site without any trouble.
There's nothing odd about the passwords - all legal characters etc.
It would be better for me and my users if I could have password protection on my sites. Without passwords, I'm left relying on 'security by obscurity' - not ideal.
What can I do?

Password Protected ZIP files from Windows

Hello everyone, I had created ZIP files in my windows PC way back and I have password protected them. Now I copied them to my MAC, and when I try to unzip, it does not ask for a password and gives me an error message.
I know I can go back to my PC and unzip those files with the password, then zip them and copy them to my MAC, but I don't want to run my PC unless I really have to and I am curious to see if there is a way to have Archive utility to ask for the password.

Password protect DVD

Hi all,
Is it possible/does anyone know how to password protect a DVD while burning data to it? I have created a .dmg in DU; it remains password protected while on the HD, but in the process of burning it to DVD, DU asks for the folder's password, I enter it (without setting it to remember in Keychain), but after burning, the DVD will open on any of my Macs in any of the accounts, admin or not, without the need for a password.

Hosting iWeb developed pages on another server - password protection ????

I've uploaded a website that I developed using iWeb '08 on another hosting service other than .mac. I need to develop a 'members only' section that will have password protection on it. iWeb's password protection feature only works on websites and the website has to be hosted in .mac. Does anybody have any recommendations on how to do this on a non-mac hosting server?

IPhoto - MobileMe gallery subscription - problem with password-protected

I am having a peculiar problem with subscribed galleries from MobileMe in iPhoto 08 and iPhoto 09. For galleries that have password-protection enabled, the full URL of the gallery subscription feed is pulled through as the Subscription title instead of the gallery title.
For example "http://gallery.e.com/ACCOUNT-NAME/XXXXXX/?webdav-method-truthget&depth=infinit y&feedfmt=atom....
This doesn't occur for public MobileMe galleries. The title of the gallery comes across and the URL of the subscription is hidden.
Anyone having similar problems? Local Genius Bar couldn't help and assumed it was just a bug, but it doesn't seem to be typical of Apple.
As an aside, it would also be nice to have these feed subscriptions behave similarly to the way RSS subscriptions work in Mail, with the ability to select how often the feed is queried and indicate the number of new items. This would alert users of changes to feeds.

Upon further research, it appears that this problem occurs when publishing from either iPhoto or Aperture to MobileMe. The problem seems to be when a gallery is published and one chooses not to have the gallery appear on the main gallery page (hidden). It seems to have nothing to do with whether or not one protects the gallery with a password.
So, Apple, if you are listening, can you provide any information on how to have the title of the gallery come through when subscribing using iPhoto while at the same time not listing the gallery on the main MobileMe gallery page? This seems to be a fixable bug.

Password Protecting a JSP Home Page

Can anyone help me set up some type of login & password authentication on a site I have set up on web logic server? It's a portal type home page that has links to some sites but I would like to have password protection before it gets to the portal page. Is there a good way to do this possibly using a JSP.

Assuming you have a database with usernames and passwords and would use cookies, here's a Q&D approach...
On your pages, check for the presence of a specific session cookie ( you name it ). You can do this with a simple include file on each page.
If no cookie:
Prompt for login. Upon successful login, write session cookie (you named) with value of the current session ID.
If cookie is found:
Check it's value against session.getId(). If it matches, let 'em in, otherwise prompt for login.
