Does MulticastSocket API start the multicast if it is disabled in Linux

Basically I am running a application which uses multicast in Linux environment.I am using MulticastSocket API to invoke my multicast.
Now SLES10 SP2 if I disable multicast using ifconfig eth0 -multicast also when call "MulticastSocket " API it is appearing to be starting the multicast.
Can any one confirm will MulticastSocket API start the multicast if it is not enabled.

I am trying a second post to see if anybody has encountered the following scenario:
Several instances of a webapp is started on the same machine where each instance is bound to a hostname. It is critical that only a .war or a set of files are used because the application is very large. There are also practical problems re-deploying 20-30 identical .wars.
The problem is that when a servlet context is initialized there doesn't seem to be any way of finding out which host(s)/URIs the current instances is bound to. This makes it impossible to deduct which configuration to load.
Is there a clean way to do this using listeners of servlet context creation or this scenario is simply not supported by the API?
Any feedback is appreciated.
P.S. The solution I had to use is to start the application at first request where I can get the hostname from the request.

Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes.The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

When I am prompted to choose a folder to save downloaded files to, why does 7.0 start the download browser in a random folder rather than the last folder saved to?

When prompted to choose a destination folder for files that I am saving, I have found that 7.0 doesn't always open the file browser with the last folder I saved to. In previous versions, if I saved a jpg to a specific folder, it would open still directing me to that same folder the next time I was prompted. Now, if I am saving a string of images, there is no telling which folder the browser will be opened to when I am prompted. Very annoying to 1) have to figure out where I am in my filing system and 2) have to work my way through god knows how many folders to get back to where I saved the previous file ten seconds earlier. If this is some kind of smart feature that's making suggestions based on file source history or downloading patterns or whatever, can I turn it off? Here's hoping that you can help, because I really want this to be an easy fix rather than a bad version of your otherwise flawless program or worse yet a deteriorating hard drive.

Firefox 11+ versions have support via browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref to disable to disable the feature to remember the download directory based upon the URL. 
The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is hidden). 
Create a new Boolean pref with the name browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite and set the value to false.
You may have the clear the "Site Preferences" via Clear Recent History to remove already stored data.

Push Registry is not starting the MIDLET automatically

I am not being able to start my MIDLET using the push registry mechanism. I am using the netbeans emuluator to execute the program.
In the startApp of my application I have
     connections = PushRegistry.listConnections(false);
and whenever a connection comes it starts a new thread. My Client keeps sending SMS requests but the server midlet in which the
push registry is initiated does not start.
In the application Descriptor I have added the following
MIDLET class : Server.SMSReceive_S
Sender IP : *
Connection String : sms://:5000
and in the API permissions I have added the following API permissions
javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.receive, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.send
I have even tried to start the MIDLET dynamically by calling
     PushRegistry.registerConnection(smsConnection,this.getClass().getName(),filterName);
but that too doesnt work?
So what am I doing wrong in starting the MIDLET automatically using push registry?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to start the installation for CS5.5 when downloaded no disk?

I have lost my Adobe disk and have followed the instructions to download the file now from the Adobe website. I now have the download but it is doing nothing to start the install process. I was wondering if someone may be able to help me with where I go from here?
I have the icon on the desktop and when I double click it it just opens up to all the files. There is a Install folder I click on it and nothing happens. I keep getting errors and have no idea what to do now. Help please?

The file downloaded file. Asked me to click complete (or something like that ) I did. It then added the icon to my desk top. Now it just seems like it needs to start the install but it never launches. I double click on the file and it opens up the folders in Finder. I then have options of Deploy, Install, Payload and Packages. I double click on Install and nothing happens.
I have no idea where to go from here. The error that keeps telling me to reinstall Indesign etc (what ever Adobe program I click on I get the same) keeps happening.
We have this problem now because we had to replace the harddrive on the Mac to and upgraded to Yosemite to get some other issues sorted. Since then we can't do anything with the Adobe programs.

API error: Element link does not exist for the duration of the entry

I am trying to create an element using the API_PAY_ELEMENT_ENTRY.CREATE_ELEMENT_ENTRY API
While I am able to create many elements for years this way, for one particular non-recurring element I get the following error
ORA-20001: Element link does not exist for the duration of the entry
Cause: The link has been purged or date effectively deleted.
Action: Check the effective start and end dates on the link definitions for this element.
I have checked evertything and the Link is defined far before my element entry starts and with no end date. The assignment I want to attach this element entry is perfectly eligible.
The weirdest is that I am able to create this element entry with the values I want and the dates I want through standard User interface...
Any idea?

I cannot open the player and it does not appear in the Start Menu, Task Manager, System Tray, or anywhere else. When I try to open a file, the site tells me Flash player is not installed. I have even downloaded it to a separate folder and ran the install with IE shut down completely. And Shockwave in ENABLED but in 32 bit .I have been trying to get this to work for about 3 weeks now. HELP!!!

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.
