Does my modem need to support 5G in order to make use of the 5G characteristics of my AirPort Extreme?

I have a Fritzbox 7360 router which does not support 5G. I have also bought an Airport Extreme and uses this in bridge modus. So the Fritzbox only serves as a modem. The modem does not support 5G however, do I need to have different type of modem in order to optimally make use of the 5G characteristics of the Airport Extreme?

The router needs to support the Bonjour protocol. If not, the airprint won't work. -
I am using several Macs running Yosemite. I was recently “upgraded” to Xfinity’s new cable modem which can support both 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz networks at the same time. Actually I can connect to the internet over both with a satisfactory bump in speed for the Ghz. However when I connect to the 5Ghz the Time capsule disappears from the Airport Utility and claims to be Not Found. Is there something I have done wrong or just a Yosemite Teething Problem
First restart your mac and try again.
It could be
that the router and the TC are interfering wirelessly with each other.
You can check this by pressing the option key while clicking on the wireless icon on your screen
Open Wireless Diagnostics
enter your user password
Press CMD 4 then Scan
You will see all the wireless channels being used in your location and you can check if they are on the same channel
Make the SSID for the TC simple like MyTC
Set 5Ghz to auto
Update the TC
Try again

Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
1. Open Photoshop.
2. Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
3. Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
4. Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
5. Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
6. Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
7. Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
8. Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
9. Open Photoshop and everything should be readable. -

If so, I can tell you that at other clients I have seen them use a single catalog for one or two languages. For the two langugages, such as Spanish/English, you can create a single catalog with both of them. Once you get to more than two languages, the catalog would get unweildy and is therefore not suggested.

System keeps looking for a 'server' that does not exist. Is says the old name of my Airport Extreme. Clicking it away (4x) finally gets through.
Other weirdness to report: my neighbor upstairs appears to have a Linksys router network on channel 6. My AEBS is on channel 1 so there shouldn't be interference... but according to iStumbler sometimes the signal leaps to 64000 (keep in mind my own Airport never tops 60)! Is that potentially the problem?
Might it be possible that your neighbor just acquired a 802.11n (pre-N) wireless router recently?
802.11n effectively increases capacity by doubling the number of Wi-Fi radios and increasing the number of antennas used to push signals out of those radios. 802.11n splits a data frame into multiple pieces. It then transmits these pieces in parallel using multiple radios that are attached to multiple antennas. These antennas blast out signals from virtually the same vantage point – scattering the signals everywhere.

This is getting incredibly annoying. I've had this thing for 3 months and I can't use it for more than 5 mins at a time because the touchscreen stops responding!!! I tried restoring it to its factory defaults and it still keeps messing up.
Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
If that doesn't work, then update iTunes on computer, backup device to iTunes, then restore the device.

My iPad is on the same network as the Airport Extreme. The HP printer is on the list of Airprint printers but I'm not using it as a wireless printer, per se, as it's hooked up to the USB port on the Airport Extreme.
I installed the HP ePrint app on my iPad. Unfortunately, the app could not find the printer either.

Not necessarily. AirPrint uses a protocol separate from the communication protocol used for the Extreme's USB port. The HP printer may disable AirPrint when its USB port connected to a valid device, which is my reason for recommending you use it wirelessly.
From AirPrint Basics:
AirPrint printers connected using Bluetooth or shared through a USB port of a Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule are not supported.
AirPrint printers connected by Ethernet are supported in OS X.

HP's Mac support has always been miserable though. I have been much happier since I abandoned HP and started buying Brother printers. They just work. -
Does an iMac need to be functional in order to continue to utilize it as a target display only?
I am debating on whether to upgrade to an iMac or iMac 5k. The non 5k iMac's ability to be used as a display appeals to me because it can still serve a purpose down the road when the internals are outdated. Will the iMac still function as a display even if the internals (processor, hard drive, etc) are not functional some day? I am assuming it won't, which somewhat lessens the appeal of that function as future proofing for my purchase.

Target Display Mode does require an operating system (Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later) to be running on the computer being used as a display, so if the processor, hard drive, etc are not working, you would not be able to use it in this way. See this article for reference -

We have the xt912 and just got it back on refurb, for another one that had this identical problem. So we have had 3 of these,and two have had this same horrible issue.And it already is having these problems and we just got it not long ago....The hdmi/rotate-screen issue IDENTICAL to this....
We have already had another Xt912 with the same exact issues,so no offense,this problem is getting very old.
Could you please check my imei (it’s my sons phone) and possibly see if there is something you can do for us? the phone is at the point to where it’s not safe for my son, as he needs to call us from his middle school sometimes, but it’s to the point to where this isn't even working anymore. The screen won’t turn and the dock message keeps coming up. I've tried 4+ hard resets, And these droids are getting very disheartening... Especially with how much money we spend with you, versus some of our straight talk phones...

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your son's phone. I know you stated that you have reset his phone many times. Have tried running the device in Safe Mode? http://vz.to/JOEri7 are the steps to put it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode tells us if it is an application error or the device.

AppleTV can play content from several sources
1 - Your local iTunes library - iTunes must be running/computer on for you to be able to browse the library database under the Computers column and pull the media to the AppleTV for playback using itunes as the helper app.
2 - You can 'push' compatible media and content of some iOS apps to AppleTV from iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch and using Airplay from itunes (the only desktop app enabled for Airplay in OS X or Windows). Airplay from itunes generally only gives different results with music whereby equaliser, enhancement and cross fade settings are applied before sending the audio whereas 'pulling' using AppleTV menus does not add these effects. Also Airplay from itunes is one method to play Audible audiobooks using AppleTV as a 'speaker'.
3 - In some countries past itunes purchases (excluding movies currently) can be played directly from the internet (iCloud service) though clearly if you have a slow or capped internet connection, playing from your localitunes library would give better performance.
