Does noboby know!!! program changes in logic with kontakt3 instrument banks
Hi all.
im having real trouble understanding program changes from the events list in logic pro in conjunction with Kontakt 3.
i have a region playing a bar of a violin legato then a bar of staccato then a bar of tremolo (just for example) using kontakt 3.
i have created a new instrument bank in K3 and loaded violin legato on 001, staccato on 002 and tremolo on 003 of the K3 instrument slots.
its from here that i just dont understand and find the logic manual useless as usual.... how can i get it to change??? firstly, nothing is selected in the program change events list... i havnt changed anything yet... fair enough but how can i write it in, so to speak, from this point??? it wont let me write any new number change and basically wont let me do anything.
i messed aroud with this for hours without much luck and when i could get it to change it was giving me strange instument names like grand piano etc
so i guess iv really missed somthing here
any help??

I forget how to write them PG changes in, but what I do, is make a program change from your master keyboard while recording into Logic..Then go in and look at the note edit list to make sure it's correct. Change number if you need. The bank select always overwhelmed me, so I never dealt with that either.
Another approach would be to create a 2nd patch in Kontakt, and have it respond to a different midi channel, then change the midi channel on your event list, or perform from master kbd that is set to appropriate midi channel

And you will need to setup bank change commands for your particular instrument, if it does in fact have several banks of internal patches. Logic comes with a selection of bank change commands, one of them will almost always work.

My sleep/ wake button seems to be stuck so I sent in for a repair on the website and they sent me a apple care box and said send it back but I Carnt remember if I told them the fault or do they know by the repair ID number? I use a Mini as the family media center and would like to have 5.1 or 7.1 sound for films but don't want a huge piece of eletronic equipment (I have one of those, but it isn't hooked up because it doesn't fit on the bookshelf). Years ago I used a PC and still use the Creative Audigy speaker system (Jimmy rigged to the Mini) that I ran from the PC. The Audigy PCI sound card obviously doesn't work on the Mini, so I just have two chanel plus sub. That has been fine since I switched to the Mini in 2007, but am updating to a new Mini in the summer and would like to upgrade my sound as well.
I also wouldn't be opposed to a USB soundcard that can drive the speakers. In fact, my wife would prefer smaller and less visible, ergo USB card hidden in the back.
Suggestions?Hello John, I figured it was a signal issue. All the speakers fire and the sound is great. I was running the speakers thru a Dell PC with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, THX Certified, 7.1 soundcard using a fiber optic from the Mac Pro to the Z906's, it worked great until the Dell died!!! When I bought the soundcard from Creative I also bought the GigaWorks S750, THX Certified, 700 watt, 7.1 speaker system, used the speakers for 11 years and then the woofer/amp said "I QUIT" Creative quit making the speaker system and the sound card. The satellite speakers from the Creative GigaWorks speaker system still sound great (rated at 78 watt each) and are a little better speaker than the one's that came with the Z906 and the wattage from the 906 is sufficient to drive the satellites without any distortion. Thank you for addressing my issue, you confirmed what I suspected all along, just needed to hear it from someone with the same setup.
One last question, I purchased a Diamond Multimedia USB Soundcard, can't use the fiber optic(not supported by Mac) but the green, tan and black RCA's plug in and produces adequetly. When you plug your 906's into the Mac Pro using the fiber optic how do you set your speaker configuration? When I plug into the mac pro with fiber optic the 'Audio Midi Setup' does not seem to see the 5.1 configuration. Any thoughts there?

I'm thinking of upgrading from v10.6.8 Snow Leopard to OS X Yosemite. I know, I'm years behind, but it has become a necessity. My Mac is becoming slow and is incompatible with many softwares and websites. Does anyone know of any problems associated with this upgrade? What are the implications and/or consequences of installing Yosemite? Does it effect functionality of v10.6.8 software or hardware? Are there any precautions I should take before the installation? Clearly there are some applications I need to remove and no doubt my HD could do with a 'spring clean'. My Mac 'Safe Booted' when I turned it on this morning.
I use many different softwares, some web-based. The decision to upgrade to OSX Yosemite is because I was unable to attend a Webinar this week using GoToMeeting downloadable software. GoToMeeting have upgraded their system and my OS is no longer supported. Other websites like VImeo no longer support my version of Safari. I tend to use Chrome if Safari isn't compatible.

Try to create a presentation that uses a widescreen aspect 1280 x 720 would be good, then export it at full quality which should give you a movie of 720p at 24 fps and should be just fine for the tv, if you have any problems with exporting it this way, you could try manual settings or simply run the export you made at full quality through itunes using advanced/create an Apple tv version.

Why does the color red change from working with images in develop to library? The color gets lighter and nothing shows a change on histogram but visually you can see it.
That's probably a broken display profile. The conversion from Library's Adobe RGB is different than the conversion from Develop's linear ProPhoto, so if there's a problem with the display profile it can show up this way.
Recalibrate, or if you don't have a calibrator use sRGB. If your monitor is a wide gamut model use Adobe RGB.
Assuming Windows, change it in Control Panel > Color Management > Devices, and relaunch Lightroom so that it can pick up the new profile at startup: -

Enter the restrictions passcode you set. It doesn't set itself. Either you or someone with physical access to the phone set it.
If you can't remember it, you will need to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it. Do NOT restore your backup. The restriction settings are part of the backup. -

IanWell, i sent back my iMac with the fusion drive and i going to order an iMac with flash storage. What i can say is that : with my older iMac (2008) the Scarlett is working fine under Mavericks and Logic pro X. So i had a doubt concerning USB 3 or Fusion Drive. Unfortunately, users of Focusrite, RME, Apogee etc are all experiencing issues with the Fusion Drive. We apologise for this and are working with Apple to reach a resolution.
Both Scarlett and Saffire Pro are compatible with Mavericks, bar for the Fusion Drive issue which we have become recently aware of.
