I am trying to connect a Nokia N810 Internet Tablet to the Internet via Internet Sharing. The N810 only supports B and G mode WIFI. I can't get a connection. Does Airport Internet Sharing Support WIFI Mode G? Do I have to configure for this?
    Thanks

I am trying to connect a Nokia N810 Internet Tablet to the Internet via Internet Sharing. The N810 only supports B and G mode WIFI. I can't get a connection. Does Airport Internet Sharing Support WIFI Mode G?
    Yes.
I've used my 802.11b/g/n capable MacBook to share an ethernet connection with my 802.11g ONLY iPod Touch.
Does the N810 see the network?
Does any other WiFi capable device in your home see the Internet Sharing SSID?
Did you give your Internet Sharing a password? Internet Sharing uses WEP for encryption, and the rules for creating the WEP Hex key from a text string password are different for Macs vs everyother WiFi device in the world. 1st try no password. If that works, then move on to using a simple 5 character password for 40/64 bit WEP, or a 13 simple password for 104/128 bit WEP.

  • Does Nokia Asha 306 support Skype?

Does nokia asha 306 support Skype ? and if it does how can i get it ?
Moderator's notes: The post was edited. A more appropriate subject is provided.

    Hi MrBluetooth
    Welcome to Nokia forum!
Skype application is not compatible with Nokia Asha 306. If you wish to know what are the applications that you can download to your phone check Nokia Store. Set the model of your phone on the upper left part of the page and make sure that you have Nokia account so you can enjoy using different Nokia services. If you don't have any Nokia account you can create one for free, see this link.

  • Does nokia Lumia 630 support denim update

respected sir myself Amol I want to know that does Nokia Lumia 630 support denim update I am from India if not then when it will be available.
    thank you.
    best regards,
    amol

    Hello,
you can check here ([1]) which release is available for your device. For the Lumia 630 in India that is the Cyan release.
[2] reads "For all other Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the update will start rolling out during Q4 2014, following partner testing and approvals", so I think
it is only a matter of time when the update is deployed to the Lumia 630 in India.

  • Does nokia lumia 920 support adobe flash?

Does nokia lumia 920 support adobe flash?
    Solved!

Guess what, all these apps are created for iPhone, a device which does not support flash. So it should be obvious to anyone that supporting flash is not a prerequisite to developing these apps. There are apps in Microsoft store which allow you to view iPlayer, TV catchup and most online TV channels just fine on a Windows Phone 7.5 device.
While the app in question (Plex) would require a home-run server it does prove the point that it would be trivial to support Windows Phone for any of these channels.
Again, it's the BBC and others who simply choose not to support Windows Phone and not any technical reason which would make it impossible.
I know there are apps for ios, which makes sense seeing how it is popular, but leaving it out of wp8 makes no sense with less than 2% of all sales, of course no one is going to make the effort to make an app for it.
I say again, there is no technical reason to leave out the latest version of flash, seeing how it works on my n8. I shouldn't have to download apps to do the most basic of things. I am one of a big number of people who do not want / like to download apps, so why shouldn't we have access to content, that works on older devices.

  • Does Nokia Asha 310 support reading ebooks?

    Hello everyone,
Pls let me know if it is possible to read ebooks in Asha 310?
If yes, what formats does this support like .txt or .pdf or .epub etc
If not, then is it possible to install any app (third party is also fine) which will help support reading books in phone.. where can I find this app?
    Thanks,

In the Ovi Store. However, bear in mind the Nokia 310 is short of heap memory (RAM) which does not allow to read big files and it is complicated. If you do not need Dual SIM, have you considered to go for Nokia Belle like the Nokia 700?

  • Does NOKIA ASHA 501, support exchange email ?

is it possible to  configure asha 501 with exchange email, so that i can read office emails on phone?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was not able to do so, because
could not find a built-in option
Mail for Exchange (Series 40) does not work
Mail for Exchange (Symbian) does not work
my company uses a self-signed certificate authority (CA) for ActiveSync and HTTPs connections (and the Nokia 501 does not allow my to add this authority to the known ones)
The Nokia 501 is based on a new operating system called new Asha software platform. I guess, this is the reason. IMAP, POP, and SMTP work for me.

  • Wifi Tethering for Symbian^3

    Hi,
Just wondering if the new Symbian^3 OS supports Wifi tethering like the new smartphones now that already do (Android, Windows Phone 7)
I am a loyal fan of Nokia, and would love to continue my next nokia with the new OS on devices such as the N8 or E7, could anyone verify this for me, so i could make a decision asap. thanks!

Joikuspot has already released wifi teethering for the N8, BUT DON'T GET IT YET.
I installed joikuspot a week ago, and it makes your wlan (on the N8) almost unusable even if joikuspot is not started, it wont connect automatically to wlan anymore forcing you to use 3G, uninstalling joikuspot did not help either.
I did a "reset to factory" on my N8 and now the phone is completely unusable, looks like I now have some old beta version of symbian^3, completely different UI and ovi store does not work anymore, it's also slow and choppy, which it was not before the "factory reset"

  • Wifi Tethering - Connect to wifi from Phone

    Hi
I have a Nokia Phone that supports Wifi Hot Spot. In india only the wifi version of the Tablet S is available - I bought it assuming that that a basic feature like Connecting to a Wifi Hot spot from a Phone would be available on the Tablet.
However the Tablet is not recognizing the Wifi from the Phone - I tried different softwares' both free and paid... No use...
Why is this not supported? It will be really useful - I was planning to switch to Xperia S - OR the (yet un announced) Sony Xperia dual Core but if this kind of feature is not available then its no use moving to a faster phone....
Can Moderators explain why this feature was left out?
    Thanks
    Anup

    Hi Dave
Did you get Wifi Tethering to work from you Mobile Phone to your Sony Tablet S? if yes can you tell me what you did exactly? Also which phone do you have? I have searched online for a long time - Not many people have gotten it to work. Mostly the people who got it worked had Either managed to Boot the Tablet S in recovery mode OR had managed to ROOT their Phones.
I tried creating a Wifi Hotspot from Nokia N9, Nokia N900, Nokia C7, Nokia N8, Samsung Galaxy S - None worked.... Windows Phone 7 does not yet support creating Hotspots.... Didnt want to try iDevices....
And don't tell me about Sony products - I got enough Sony Products do have the right to complain.....
Let me give u some examples -
    1. Sony Camcorders used their own Tape format. The other vendors used a Tape format directly compatible with the VCR players of that time.
    2. Sony Cameras used Memory Sticks not SD Cards like everyone else. So you couldn't view your photos on other peoples Camera's and also 60-70% of laptops didn't have Memory Stick Readers.
    3. PSP-Vita uses a NEW form of Memory Stick - so if u had sony products before and had old Memory Sticks then they go to the trash bin!
    4. UMD for PSP
    5. ATRAC for Music Players and the Most Horrid Software of all times - Sonic Stage. I have an old Sony Walkman that I cant use anymore because I don't have Sonic Stage. I can get it BUT the current version expects me to FORMAT and LOSE all my music if I want to load any new songs.
My point is - this kind of proprietary format doesn't work. Companies need to be more open so invite consumers who might switch brands....
In case you haven't noticed Sony has moved away from this proprietary format for a lot of product lines... but now they are jumping back into it with the PSP-Vita and Tablet devices....
    Thanks
    Anup

  • Nokia PC Suite support for Outlook and Thunderbird

    Hi,
I am currently using the Microsoft Outlook 2007 combined with Nokia PC Suite to synchronize the contents of the Outlook with my Nokia N73 smartphone. I am now considering to switch e-mail client from Microsoft Outlook to the Mozilla Thunderbird. So my question is then, is Nokia PC Suite compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird?
I have in fact already installed Thunderbird, but it is not available as an option anywhere in the settings for Nokia PC Suite. All I can find in the Nokia PC Suite settings is a tab called "Microsoft Outlook" where I can choose the different Outlook profiles or change settings. In my humble opinion there should be a new tab added called "Thunderbird" or similar right next to the "Microsoft Outlook" tab in the settings for Nokia PC Suite after installing another e-mail client such as the Mozilla Thunderbird.
I know that there is this option to choose what e-mail client to use upon installing Nokia PC Suite, where I have chosen Outlook. Does this mean that I have to reinstall Nokia PC Suite to get this choice to choose e-mail client to use? If I do reinstall Nokia PC Suite, will I even get to this option at all? Since I am only reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and it is already configured once to be used with Outlook, I'm thinking that maybe this option will not even appear upon reinstalling Nokia PC Suite.
I don't have a clear memory of it but I think I once reinstalled Nokia PC Suite for some reason and I was not presented with this option to choose e-mail client as the first time I installed it. So this may require complete uninstallation and deletion of files and Windows registry for Nokia PC Suite, and then a fresh installation of it to get to this window where to choose e-mail client.
Even when and if I get to that window, it's no guarantee that I will be able to choose Thunderbird even thou it's installed. Why? Because I know from experience that commercial and proprietary software like Nokia PC Suite tends to only support the industry standard platforms and systems and applications, or de-facto industry standards like the extensively used Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft products. I know by experience that such software as Nokia PC Suite love to lick Microsoft's **bleep**. Don't you think?... or don't you know? You disagree? Well lay it on me, tell me what you think!
I would love to be able to synchronize my mobile phone with my computer, even if I may use a Linux or other nix-like operating system. But if Nokia PC Suite doesn't even support e-mail clients other then Microsoft Outlook, such as the Thunderbird, then it's probably too much to ask for a Linux support for Nokia PC Suite. Or is it?... does Nokia PC Suite support Linux?...

    Thanks for your answers!
By this time I have made a clean install of Windows Vista at least three times, and on one occasion I remembered to check this this thesis of mine that I mentioned above. So for the purpose of testing if it's true that the Nokia PC Suite installation process or Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard does not present the user with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as e-mail client, I have done the following.
I have made a completely clean, out of the box installation of Windows Vista on the computer (retail version, non-custom branded Vista version). After installing the needed and important drivers for the system and other software required for the proper operation of the system and few other software, I went on installing Microsoft Office with Outlook 2007 as one of the first software applications. Then I installed Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird. After I had done that, I installed the Nokia PC Suite.
As my thesis predicted, after successfully installing Nokia PC Suite and the Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard was started, I was not presented with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client, even thou both Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird were installed prior to or before Nokia PC Sync. In other words, if this was a limitation of the Nokia PC Suite or it's installer, where it does not recognize e-mail clients that are installed after Nokia PC Suite itself, then installing the e-mail clients in this order should make Nokia PC Suite recognize it. But it did not, or at least as long as the Mozilla Thunderbird is concerned. Thus, this proves my thesis - Nokia PC Suite is currently not compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird. And Mobile Sensei Petrib confirms this also.
Here follows a screenshot of the actual Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard.
    http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9803/nokiapcsyncsd3.jpg
I'm afraid we will have to bear with this. I personally don't believe that there will ever be any official release of Nokia PC Suite that will have full support (or any at all) for other e-mail clients then just Microsoft Outlook and Lotus, or that there will be any official Linux or nix-like version of it. Not today, not in next five years, and not in one thousand light-years from today. We can hope, but the odds are pointing in the opposite direction.
So bear with Microsoft Outlook, and the Windows **bleep**. No pay, no play! Unfortunately... fortunate for Microsoft, Nokia, and others alike, but unfortunate for us end users.

  • Does Nokia Pc Suite 6.8 support N07 mini

Does Nokia Pc Suite 6.8 support N07 mini

The new version has updated the Music Manager but has changed some important features like being able to see how big the selected music files are. This is definately needed.
Better support for automatically converting MP3's to AAC which is a space saver for memory.
One problem I am having is that once you initially connect the phone it installs both pc suite support and sms support to the handset, however, this only happens on the initial connection. Any idea of they will make these support sis files separate if one wants to use more than one handset with PC Suite?
