Does Not Display contacts name

Hello,
Just wondering why on my 6110 when some one in my contacts list sends me an sms it comes up with their mobile number not their name. Only just new and still trying to work out phone.

I've got the same problem, sort of. One person in particular has a Vodaphone branded 6234, which insists on sending the number as a fully qualified international, that is, with the +61nnnnnnnnn.
I imported the contacts from a Sony-Ericsson on my SIM, which worked fine and they seem to have migrated seamlessly into the phone memory (I didn't do it!!!!!), and there are no duplicates. Other numbers show the person's names, but not this number,
My phone details are:
V 04.22
05-11-07
RM-122
Nokia 6110 (24.01)
I've deleted the contact from SIM, re-entered it from the keyboard, copied it to the SIM, all in various combinations -- nothing works. This person/number has NEVER been duplicated (apart from the SIM and phone memory).
Is this something I have to live with, or is there a fix?

With some of my contacts an incoming call with a Caller ID does not display the caller's name, although they are in my Contact List and the number is in a valid format.Same is the case for sms's from the same contact.I only have one entry of that contact in my phonebook...Any 1 facing the same issue?

This is inevitably caused by duplicate entry, (many posts already exist) check settings in options in contacts and make sure memory in use is phone memory. Then you need to go through contacts and make sure you don't have more than one name attached to each number .

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

Messages on Mac app not displaying contact name

On Messages on my Mac, despite being synced up with iCloud, the Messages app does not display the contact names of anyone. It shows their phone numbers or Apple email addresses. Is there any preference I can change to make it show the contact names? If it exists I haven't found it. I also used the app meant to scrub contacts to make the phone number format conform with Apple's standard (xxx) xxx-xxxx please help!

I take it you are no longer on OS X 10.7.2 ?
The display of Names (and/or Pics) in Buddy Lists and the main Messages window (when in a Chat) in Mountain Lion is controlled from the View Menu > Buddy Names.
To set this choice the window has to be the "Front" one.
So the Messages window (CMD + 0 in the window Menu) gets brought to the Front when any sort of Text Chat is going On.
the View Menu > Buddy Names items is selected and navigation to the choice you want.
Full names is the First name, Last name as seen in the Contacts app (Formerly the Address Book)
Short Names are Nicknames (normally set via Messages) or First name only if no Nickname exists.
Handle is the Screen Names (If AIM), Jabber ID (If Facebook, GoogleTalk or other Jabber ID) or in the case of iMessages the current contact ID or iPhone number.
You can do the same to any Buddy list that you also display.
It can be used in Conjunction with the View Menu > Messages which has options to display Pics, Names or Pics and Names.
(Names now refers to whatever is set in the "Buddy Names" option).

ADF swing: JTabbedPane does not display column names.

Hi all,
I have created an ADF Panel, which allows the user to run a few simple queries against an Oracle database done using ADF view objects and ADF view links and ADF application module.
From the data control area I drag and drop a view link containing a query into a JTabbedPane. But when I run the ADF panel, JTabbedPane does not display the column headers from the SQL as opposed to JScrollPane which does.
Suppose you do a select * from departments(dep_id, manager, state_cd), you will see all column headers meaning dep_id, manager, state_cd, and under each column the corresponding data which was retuned by the SQL if you use JScrollPane. But if you use you use JTabbedPane then you would only see the data which was retuned by the SQL without seeing the column header names meaning dep_id, manager, state_cd.
What do I need to do to make JTabbedPane display columns headers?
I would appreciate your input.

JScrollPane should be used. You can add this into a JTabbedPane if you like. Not all Swing panel show table headers

SMS does not show contact name

Hi,
I have an iPhone 4. I recently switched to using exchange as my contact list so I can have all my contacts (business and private) at the same place.
My problem is that the contact names do not always show up on text messages. A few contacts work but there is no visible difference in the ones that work and those that don't. Also I have added the country code to the phone number and that does not solve the problem either. I have tried deleting the contacts and recreating them. I have tried to delete all the history of a given number and start the sms conversation again picking the name from the adress book - right after the message was sent it switched the name to the number.
Also I have tried restarting the phone and resynced it to iTunes.
Can anyone help me? This is really not possible to live with.

When I receive SMS phone displays only phone number as messages sender, even though the same phone number is memorized in contacts. I've tried changing settings and message center number, but the problem persists.

Hmm. You didn't mention if phone calls are okay. If you don't receive calls that often, maybe you may not notice.
Have you checked for double/duplicate entries? Since you mentioned that pc suite froze during the synchronisation process, it could have duplicated some of your contacts.
If not, then you might want to try backing up your contacts again using PC Suite's synchronise option or use the Content Copier (Backup) feature before deleting all your contacts. Next, create one contact and have that contact send an SMS to your phone (or you can create a contact of your OWN phone number and send yourself an SMS) to see if the name shows up.
If the name shows up, try restoring all your contacts to see if it still happens. If yes, then you probably have duplicate entries somewhere.
Otherwise, you may want to consider a software upgrade using Nokia Software Updater.
Do remember to backup your phone contents before doing this.
Alternatively, since you didn't mention your phone model, you might try a hard reset with *#7370# which will wipe out all your phone data and reset your phone back to the factory state, but this only works for specific Symbian OS phones and if you have a S40 phone, this won't be an option.

Itunes does not display asrtist name in album view on remote

When viewing my music on my IPad using remote app in album view it no longer displays the artist's name un the album title, when using an older version of ITunes V 11.4.0.18 it was displayed.
Mini mac(2013) running Mavericks Ipad Air running ios 8.1 latest version if ITunes.
When I boot up my old PC using iTunes v11.4.0.8 and connect my pad to it the artist's name is displayed un the album name.
Does anyone know how to get the latest version of ITunes to do what v11xxxx did.

Thanks for info Stefan. I have gone back to using my music on my old PC on which ITunes was not updated (nor will it) . This gives me the functunality I need and will wait and see if Apple put out a patch to fix the artist display issue.
As an aside I have found an app for my old Motorola phone called Retune which very good, it does everything that Remote does and more.. It is a shame that my crappy old phone has a better music system than my expensive IPad.

Outlook "send to" does not display contacts

Using Outlook / Office 365, and Windows 8.1, with iCloud . All appears to be working, except when composing an email. Clicking either the "TO" or "CC" buttons opens the "Send to" dialog. No contacts are displayed there, and the address book pull down displays no address books.
I have completed the Apple Support trouble shooting process with no change.
How do I correct this?

My works ip4 will not display contact names in my fav's and only has stored email contact addresses in contacts

My works IP4s has developed a problem. my Favourite contacts appear as numbers instead of names. if i try to re-create they will not store. also my contacts in the contacts have gone leaving only those with an email address. Messages Does Not Display Contact Card

When I message someone or they message me to/from my Messages App on my MBP Messages will not fill in their contact information from my contacts. The only exception to this is when I am messaging someone who uses their email as their iMessage/Messages primary address.
For example, if I am messaging my friend who has an iPhone and their primary form of contact is their phone number then they show up as a phone number in my Messages app on my computer. However, on my phone they show up with their contact information filled in and the messages usually sync (sometimes there is issues where my computer will take me back to the last place I sent a message on the computer even though it has synced all of the messages I have also sent from my phone that day.) *See Screen Shot 1 Below*
The opposite example is if I am messaging someone who has set their primary contact information to be their email address. In this case, Messages will add their contact information and picture to the message thread similar to "Brent" and "Mom" in Screen Shot 2 below.
I don't know what else to do. I've tried restarting the app. Deleting message threads and restarting them. I cannot find other people who are having this issue as well. I'm just trying to figure out why my messages won't sync contact info. It all started when facebook updated their syncing with contacts. And yes, all of these phone numbers are in my contacts and assigned to contacts with pictures both on my phone and synced to my MBP.

Not sure I would have got that one.
Can't say I have seen it before.
Custom in Language and text can mean two things.
1) You have either added things to particular Displays (such as day and Date to the Time display)
2) You can changed something like a Measurement setting from British Imperial to Metric
There are other "tweaks" such as using a Chinese Calendar whilst saying you are in the US.
I have mine set to United States so I can use the AIM SMS "feature" in Messages.

ITunes does not display Album name or song names

Just got my new Macbook. Loaded a few CDs into iTunes and then plugged in my Nano. Neither iTunes nor the Nano display the Album and Song info. Is there some setting or configuration I need to do first?

After doing a bit of searching I find that the song/album info is not on commercial CDs. I need to be "on-line" so that the info can be retrieved from a database. Hmmmm.........
I will give that a try.

Mac outlook 2011 not display "Contact and Recent addresses"

I just installed Mac outlook 2011 in my new 2014 Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.4
When I type email address to the bar it does not display "Contact and Recent addresses" to list all the typed email address. Only if I press "tab" button, it will finish the rest of the address. The point is I cannot choose the address
from a list of same name persons.
However, it works well in my old Mac Book pro. OSX 10.9.3
