Does Form6i/Report6i support Solaris x86?
There is only Form6i and Report6i for SunSparc and no Solaris version for x86.
Have anybody tried to install the Linux version of Form6i or Report6i in a machine running Solaris X86? And what is the key to install it successfully?I'm sure that Oracle8i server supports Solaris Intel Platform and Oracle9i doesn't support Solaris Intel Platform at this moment as I know.

Does smb in 10.8 server support NTLMv2?
Does smb in 10.8 server support NTLMv2? If so, how do I enable it?
Smb worked just fine in 10.6, but after upgrading to 10.8 its broken when windows machines try and connect. It works if I disable the requirement for NTLMv2 on my windows 7 clients, but that is a very poor solution.
I tried putting "client ntlmv2 auth = yes" in /var/db/smb.conf but that didn't fix anything.Wow.....that's fantastic! I couldn't understand a word from my supplier before. Now it works, thanks Tom!

Which 10g release supports Solaris x86 version 10?
Hi,
I downloaded Oracle 10.1.0.3 for Solaris x86. When I installed it, I got error, saying I can only install this version on Solaris 9 x86. Do you have any idea which Oracle 10g version supports Solaris x86 version 10?
Thanks
LHi,
If we believe metalink, Oracle 10gR1 is already certified for Solaris x86
Solaris Operating System x86 Version 10
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 10g
Status: Certified
Certification Note:
Install Information:
o 1. Execute runInstaller with the -ignoreSysPrereqs option.
o 2. Select 'Do not create a starter database' when installing Oracle 10g.
o 3. During installation, the warning message 'SUNWsprox package not installed' can be ignored. Press Continue to resume the installation.
o 4. Download and install patch 4186426 from metalink.oracle.com after installing Oracle 10g software.
o 5. If you have an End User Solaris 10 distribution, install the SUNWuiu8 package prior to installing the 10g client.
Have you run installer like recommended in point 1 ?
For 10gR2, you need to wait december for certification.

ODBC connectivity between Oracle 11G and MSSQL Server on Solaris 10
When we were running in 10G, I was able to successfully configure hsodbc using unixODBC and freeTDS to allow for an ODBC connection between Oracle and MSSQL Server.
A few weeks ago we upgraded to 11G and I've been struggling to get the connectivity (dg4odbc) working.
In our 10g environment unixODBC and freeTDS were compiled as 32-bit. I have recompiled them as 64-bit and switched over to an 11G listener and I am getting the following error:

Can anyone help me see what I'm missing?Thank you for your response.
I modified the envs LD_LIBRARY_PATH parameter in my SID_LIST_LISTENERODBC to be:
(ENV="LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/freetds/lib:/usr/local/unixODBC/lib:/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/lib:/

and bounced the listener, but I'm still getting the same error.
I do not have a lib64 directory in my Freetds installation, but all the files in the lib directory are 64-bit.
Here is a listing of my DG4ODBC init file:

Oracle 8.1.5 Client/WLS/Solaris x86
has anyone been able to get Oracle's client 8.1.5 running on Solaris x86 in conjunction with WLS to talk to back-end Oracle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks.
This will not work. We have not built the native libraries to work with
Solaris on Intel..
I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver available for
free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver) with WebLogic
Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
the top).
Or, to go directly there:
http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

Migration from Solaris Sparc server to Solaris x86
Hi ,
I would like to know.
Migration from SAP ECC6 , Oracle , Solaris Sparc to Ecc6, Oracle, Solaris x86 , Is this consider Heterogeneous or Homogeneous system copy?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
ck chaiSolaris on SPARC is a BIgEndian platform, Solaris on X86 is LittleEndian - so it's heterogeneous --> you need to use R3load to performa a migration - and you need to have a certified migration consultant on-site to do that migration (http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ).

Does Oracle Database Express Edition 11g support CLOB datatype?
I am having problems in displaying CLOB data type columns when I query my tables in Oracle Database Express Edition 11g. I am getting garbage values. However when I do the exact same thing in the Enterprise Edition I do not have any problems. So I am thinking that the Express Edition does not support CLOB data types due to its size limitations. Am I missing something here?
Hi, and welcome to the OTN forums!
I download a year ago oracle 10g and installed in windows7/64bit.
Now 11g is available. But it says does not work in x64.Well, in fact, 10.2 XE wasn't certified for x64 either, not even for Linux x64...
11.2 XE has a Linux x86_64 release, and there has been an announcement that there'll be a x64 release for Windows as well, but it's not available (yet).
There have been a lot of reports that people got 11.2 XE work on x64 Windows machines as well, with a few tweaks at installation time and/or afterwards...
You'll find tons of posts on that topic when using forum search...
oracle 10g seems to be not available anymore.Right, the official downloads have been removed after all database 10.2 releases fell out of (regular) support.

Does OPC UA Shared Variable Server support Alarm&Event and historical access?
OPC UA Shared Variable Server is a sample code and resides at https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-25602
It seems to support DSC <-> OPC-UA tag synchronization.
But does it support alarm&event and historical access?
I tried to open it with LabVIEW 2012, but lots of VIs were missing in the code, and I am not familiar with DSC and OPC-UA.Hi iCat,
From your post on the example itself, a colleague of mine responded with: "This uses the OPC UA server included in DSC 2011 SP1 which does not include direct support for Alarms and Events. However you could use this idea to synchronize to shared variables on a Windows host which could have those abilities enabled."
So it looks like it doesn't directly do this.

Configuration assistant error with Oracle 10g 10.2.02 with Solaris 10 6/06
Hi all,
As anyone seen this a fix for this error?
I have installed Solaris 10 6/06 x86 on VMWare 5.2 which works fine.
When I attempt to install Oracle 10g 10.2.02 for Solaris x86 (released in Sept 06), the install goes fine until I get to the configuration assistant stage.
The first Net based configuration assistant fails with a Java exception which seems to be related to a Sig 11 in the libc library.
This looks like an error fixed by a patch mentioned in the release notes but the patch does not seem to be available for this version of Solaris.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated...
Regards
AnthonyHi all,
Just to update this.
I have deselected the create database option part of the install and Oracle installs OK!
The problem is in the create database phase which I have manually done when I use the dbca program.
When I get to the create database operation of the the dbca wizard, I get a the following error "ORA-00600, internal error code, arguments [kelntf-ldminit, [146],[1],[],[],[],[],[]"

Oracle InstantClient for Solaris x86
Hi,
Do you Oracle oracles foresee Instant Client upgrades for the Solaris x86 platform? It seems to be stuck at 10.1.0.3.
I ask because we just picked up four Oracle CPU licenses, installed RAC, and hoped to put all of our apps on those nifty AMD Opteron-based boxes that Sun is manufacturing these days.
Thanks!Oracle never released a 9i port for Solaris on x86; There is however full
support (including a 64 bit version) of 10G -
Install error for Oracle 10g on Solaris x86 64-bit. NETCA won't run
Hi All,
I'm installing Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Solaris x86 64-bit. I run the Oracle installer and all runs well until the NETCA portion of the install. It then errors (error file below). When i attempt to run NETCA outside of the installer i'm getting the same error output. I have verified my OS version and that all dependent packages are installed. I'm not sure what is causing this. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
thanks, dave
