Does windows7 come with photo editing

I thought this high end computer comes with all kinds of photo editing software, or maybe i just can't find it.Can anybody help

Like all previous versions of Windows, Windows 7 has the standard "Paint" program. However, for photo editing, you can download Microsoft's Live Photo Gallery as part of the Live Essentials package. Personally, I think it does a good job for basic photo edits and fixes, but the entire "Live" experience can be a bit annoying (log-in/user account required to access all the live features, but photo gallery will work without a Live account). To get it (and other Live Essentials programs) go to www.microsoft.com and select the "Downloads" section under the search bar, or just search for Live Essentials on the Microsoft website.
For more advanced editing/users, you may also like "Gimp 2", an open source graphics/photo editing software solution similar to Adobe Photoshop. Gimp 2 is available through www.gimp.org , along with additional plug-ins to expand the features.
For my truly important photo editing, I use Adobe Lightscribe 3. It is great for perfecting photos, but it is pricey.
Live Photo Gallery will do most, if not all, photo edits the typical consumer would use, it is easy to use, and it's free.

Have you seen this type of problem before? I think it could be a serious issue for anyone in a similar position.
No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.
    •  I don't suppose there is anything I can do to 'put back' lost items from a separate Time Machine drive which has an up to date backup on it.
There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.
On the other hand, if the Time Machine volume is rigidly linked to the now-absent OS on the original drive, there may be no way to effectively access the files in the TM archive.
I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive?

  • My Iphone 4 does not come with a SOFTWARE UPDATE option.

My partner bought my iphone 4 version 4.2 about two years ago from a well known store. He got himself one at the same time but i cannot update mine because it does not come with an option in settings, general that allows me to update it. All of my apps are useless as they need at least iSO5 to run. I cannot check my bank accounts or anything. I have rung and spoke to apple many of times and followed all the steps to try and update. As this is not my fault and the iphone had not been loaded with the correct software there should be something APPLE could do free of charge!!!! I really need help as i cannot afford a replacement or want one. I just dont know what to do anymore!!

  • Does iTunes come with 32bit and 64bit install?

    I have Windows 7 and it's a 32bit and 64bit Gaming Laptop G73SW.
I've done all the troubleshoot tips, which has just made my computer worse.eg all icons changed, things now missing, so probably have to do a System Retore to get it all back.
Every time i speak to Apple,  they're suggestions just make my computer stuffed, iTunes takes over all my programs etc.
Simply put: Does iTunes come with a 32bit and 64bit Install??? If not i won't be using that program.
Which makes it hard for my line of work atm as an Alpha and Beta Games Tester for many Private Platforms i play on.

Well genius, it's either a 32bit or 64bit system, it cannot be both.
Please learn to clearly describe the situation or it is unlikely that appropriate and relevant assistance will be provided.

  • Does iWork come with a form of powerpoint presentation compatible with Microsoft Office Powerpoint?

I recently bought a MacBook Pro and need to purchase iWork or Microsoft Office. Does iWork come with a form of powerpoint presentation? If so, is it easy to use and compatible with Microsoft Office presentation software? The latter question is extremely important as we use Microsoft Office primarily at the college.

Yes, Keynote is iWork's PowerPoint equivalent. You can save as a PowerPoint file as well. Very easy to use IMO.

  • Is there an application like "snag it" for mac?  Does it come with the Mountain Lion OS, or do I have to buy it separately?

Is there an application like "snag it", which is part of the Microsoft Office suite for mac?  Does it come with the Mountain Lion OS, or do I have to buy it separately?  If it is a separate purchse, what would you recommend?

Built-in to OS X is the ability to capture an entire screen or selected portions. Snaps are saved to the Desktop by default:
    COMMAND-SPACE-3 snaps the entire screen.
COMMAND-SPACE-4 lets you select a portion of the screen to snap.
In your Utilities folder is a utility called Grab that provides similar functionality and more.
Then there are dozens of third-party solutions such as SnapNDrag and SnapzProX. You will find them and others at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Most have trial versions or trial times so you can test them out.

  • By subscribing to Creative Cloud(Photoshop and Lightroom), does it come with more than one license, and is it possible to install it on both Windows and Apple(if it comes with two licenses)? Thank you.

By subscribing to Creative Cloud(Photoshop and Lightroom), does it come with more than one license, and if it does, is it possible to install on both Windows and Apple's OX? Thanks.

A Cloud subscription provides for installing working installations on two machines.  You can have mixed operating systems (both Windows and Apple's OX).

That message is just a standard one issued, mainly for Windows users, you can disregard it if you didn't install any anti-virus. (OS X has one installed by Apple that doesn't interfere)
It's just some forms of anti-malware are really paranoid and lock the entire machine down. (like Norton)

  • "Does Bridge come with Photoshop if I buy the CC single app?"

Question from a Customer…"Does Bridge come with Photoshop if I buy the CC single app?"

Actually whether you consider the Suite a unified concept or not, if you are using a variety of Adobe products Bridge does the job well. Here's a great testimonial of what it does according to one user:
Bridge is the coordinating hub of the Creative Suite. Synchronizing color management settings for all suite programs is done from Bridge, and can only be done from Bridge, to take one important use.
Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.
Not bad for an old file browser.

  • PSE 9 does not come with Camera Raw 6.2?

Photosho Elements 9 does not come with camera raw 6.2
, I downloaded the trial version which came with an outdated 6.1... the only version of 6.2 is for PSE8 and does not work with PSE9 how is this possible? How can they release a product with an outdated ACR????Now we have to wait for an update to a new product???Come on people!!!

Cheap shot, Phil. Up to now, Mac users got no Organizer but a special bonus: full Bridge, full access to full featured ACR. With this version, both platforms get the same stuff -- it's less than full Photoshop/Bridge CS5, at a small fraction of the price.
I admit, as a Mac user who shoots RAW, I liked the old trade-off...but I can understand the desire to make the two products consistent. If that makes PSE "inferior" for you than you should stick with Bridge CS4/Raw 5.7, or move up to the full-featured siblings, or switch to Lightroom.
