Domain Link

We have the following satellite system.
SAP r/3
APO
BW
XI
all the Satellite system Domain is different from solution manager domain. So are we have to configure the domain link  ??? is there any other way ???
explain about the domain link how it should be ??

Prakash,
If your satellite systems are on 4.6c and are also connected to a domain controller other than that one of solution manager, it will not work.
Domain links work, only if your satellite systems are in WAS, and not 4.6c.
The only option here is to, make the solution manager instance as the domain controller for all the satellite systems, and this asks for complete re-structuring of the TMS in all your systems, so be careful before you go ahead.
Thanks.

To make domain link works, we had to put CTC to 0, but it needs to be set to 1 to allow mutliple client queue.
So in queue TE1 that should have 2 target client, there is none affected.
Do you have any advice for us, do you use it into your transport landscape?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
You can make transports between systems in different domains in the same way as you make transports between systems in different transport groups.RFC is used to transfer transport files between the transport directories involved.
You can Create Target Transport Group (e.g /DEVPRD/) between the Systems which are part of Different Transport Domains.
You can switch on CTC parameter (CTC=1) in both TP Domain profiles to have Client Dependent Transports.

  • Domain Link - Forwarding Transport requests

    Hi Gurus,
    here is the query
We have a two different transport domains for N landscape and for N+1 landscape.
We wanted to bring in multiple transports into N+1 transport from N landscape and vice versa. I know we can sync the transport directories of both domains at OS level using ftp scripts etc..and import later. But wanted to check with Domain link concept, once the link is established between domains A and B., we usually forward the requests to target system and import it.
But never tried bulk/mass forward of transports to the target systems. Is it technically possible to forward the mass TR's through RFC's between domains.
Any hiccup we might see? please shed some light. Wanted to try this in my landscape.

    Hi Durga,
I do not seem to have seen any such limitation that, you could face trouble while doing bulk transports using domain link. I have never used that for my customer, so I do not have any clue about any "hiccup" !! However you can check below config steps and you can try to implement this.
So, if possible try to test in some test environment before using productively, unless some one comes up with real time experience with any issues he/she has faced with TMS domain link while used for bulk transport.
SAP Library - Transport Management System (BC-CTS-TMS)
    and if needed,

Let us know if this helps.

  • How to provide access to multiple users connected to a Dumb switch? (multi-auth/multi-domain)

    Good morning everybody,
I am writing on behalf of not being able to implement a desired outcome in our company network. In fact the situation is as follows:
What I want to do is to be able to authenticate users (802.1x authentication) in our company radius server and authorize them access by having a dynamic VLAN assignment in a multi-user environment on one and the same port of a Cisco 2960 switch. So far, the authentication and authorization has been working completely smoothly (there are no problems with itself). The concept involves the configuration of both DATA and VOICE VLANs as I there is also phone authentication implemented. In order to simulate this environment I introduce a Dumb switch connected to my Cisco 2960 Catalyst.
What I have successfully managed to get to work so far is this:
    1) On one switch port I have tried the “authentication host-mode multi-domain” and it worked perfectly for a PC behind a telephone, or with one PC connected to a the dumb switch + the telephone connected to another port of the dumb switch. Logically it is the same situation as there is a separation in two domains – DATA and VOICE. Bellow is an output from show authentication sessions for this scenario.
Interface  MAC Address     Method   Domain   Status         Session ID
    Fa0/23     0021.9b62.b79b  dot1x    DATA     Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F3008E (user1)
    Fa0/23     0015.655c.b912  dot1x    VOICE    Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F9009F (phone)
    2) On the other hand, when I try the same scenario with the “authentication host-mode multi-auth”, the switch still separates the traffic in two domains and is able to authenticate all users, AS LONG AS they are in the same VLAN.
    show authentication sessions:
Interface  MAC Address     Method   Domain   Status         Session ID
    Fa0/23     0021.9b62.b79b  dot1x    DATA     Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F3008E (user1)
    Fa0/23     b888.e3eb.ebac   dot1x    DATA     Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F8008C (user2)
    Fa0/23     0015.655c.b912  dot1x    VOICE    Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F9009F (phone)
However, I cannot succeed authentication of many users from DIFFERENT VLANs, neither in multi-auth nor in multi-domain modes.
What I want to get is an output like this:
Interface  MAC Address     Method   Domain   Status         Session ID
    Fa0/23     0021.9b62.b79b  dot1x    DATA     Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F3008E (user1)
    Fa0/23     b888.e3eb.ebac dot1x    DATA     Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F8008C (user2)
    Fa0/23     0015.655c.b912  dot1x    VOICE    Authz Success  C0A8FF69000000F9009F (phone)
I want the switch to authenticate the users anytime they connect to itself and for them to have an instant access to the network. (I tell this because I tried scenario 1) with multi-domain mode and authentication violation replace, and it worked but, two users never had access to the “Internet” simultaneously!!!
The configuration of the interface connected to the Dumb switch is as follows.
    interface FastEthernet0/x
     description Connection to DUMBswitch
     switchport mode access
     switchport voice vlan XXX
     switchport port-security maximum 10
     switchport port-security
     switchport port-security violation protect
     authentication host-mode multi-auth
     authentication priority dot1x
     authentication port-control auto
     authentication timer reauthenticate 4000
     authentication violation replace
     dot1x pae authenticator
     dot1x timeout tx-period 10
     spanning-tree portfast
The way I see it is explained in the following steps:
    - PC1 connects to the Dumb switch. This causes the Cisco switch to authenticate user1. This creates an auth. session with its MAC address linked to a domain DATA.
    - When PC2 connects to the Dumb switch, this causes the violation replace which replaces the recent authenticated MAC address with the MAC of PC2. I would like it once authenticated to appear in the authentication sessions with a link to a new DATA domain linked to the VLAN assigned from the RADIUS server.
Is this possible? I think (in theory) this is the only way to provide authenticated access to multiple users connecting through Dumb switch to the network.
Has anybody ever succeeded in such a configuration example and if yes, I would be love to get some help in doing so?
    Thank you
    Stoimen Hristov

    Hi Stoimen,
I have done a setup similar to yours with the only exception being VLAN assignment. When I used dACLs only, it makes things somewhat easier as the VLAN no longer matters. Remember that the switchport is in access mode and will only allow a single VLAN across it (with the exception of the voice VLAN). I think that is the real cause of your problem.
From what I can see, you have 2 options available to you:
    1) Use dACLs instead of VLAN assignment. This means that an access list will be downloaded from the radius server straight to the authenticated user's session. I have tested this and it works perfectly. Just Google Cisco IBNS quick reference guide and look for the section that deals with Low Impact mode.
    2) Get rid of the dumb switches and use managed switches throughout your network. Dumb switches will always be a point of weakness in your network because they have no intelligence to do advanced security features like port security, 802.1x, DHCP snooping, etc.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with another option.

  • Central Domain Controller in Solution manager

    Hi All,
We have configured ChaRM successfully for ECC and BI system landscapes, by creating domain links between Solution Manager domain controller and individual domain controllers for ECC and BI systems. Now, we are planning to go for a central domain controller (Solman Domain Controller) for all the satellite systems. So basically, we plan to move the individual domain controllers from ECC and BI to solman domain controller and i guess there will not be domain links required anymore.
With regards to above scenario, please help me with below queries:
1 - Will the above strategy work with chaRM or not
2 - If yes, what are the activities that would be required to be redone in satellite system and solman system
3- Any critical pre-requisites that needs to be checked before we can start this exercise
Please help me with the above queries. Appreciate your time and effort.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
Yes, you could use solman to be set as the main domain controller; either way with domain links, please kindly have a look

  • Do you NEED iWeb'08 to publish to .Mac under your domain name?

    Hi everyone,
I want to publish my site to my .Mac space under my own domain name: do I need iWeb'08 to do that?
The rest I prefer to do myself: design my site from scratch editing the html code -I believe you can't do that with iWeb, right?
I'm asking because in my case getting iLife'08 would mean a major upgrade. I'm not even sure that would run smoothly on my old machine...
    Thanks in advance...

Good News. You should be able to use your personal domain with the '06 edition, Just go to your .mac preferences click personal domains and follow the instructions. You will have to point your domain name to .mac from you registrars account page - It's pretty just follow the instructions on the personal domains link -

  • IWeb/Domain Forwarding/.mac question

    Hello Everyone
I have been lurking in the forum for some time, and now have a question. I did a search for it without any luck, so here goes.
I have a website I created using iWeb, with a domain I purchased from GoDaddy. I have domain forwarding and domain Masking both enabled. The issue I have is that each page shows only the purchased URL. In other words, I cannot direct someone to an individual page. I would like the pictures page to show up as purchased domain/pictures, and the links page to show up as purchased domain/links.
We had a discussion involving this on a MMUG I belong to. There are 3 of us who all have domains purchased from GoDaddy. The 2 of us hosting on .Mac have the above mentioned issue with the URL. The one person hosted elsewhere (not GoDaddy), has distinct URL's for each page. This leads me to believe the root of the issue resides with .Mac hosting. Does this make any sense?
FWIW, I asked the same question to .Mac support and got nowhere. They just sent me a response explaining what domain forwarding is.
    Dual 2.0 G5 Rev A - PowerBook 17" 1.33   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The masking feature that you describe is just that.... it masks the actual URL with whatever URL you give it...in this case the URL for your domain. So if you type in http://www.yourdomain.com and have it masked and forwarded to your .Mac pages, that URL is the only URL you will ever see in the address bar of your browser. This is the expected behavior for masking.
There are some different things you can do with your domain, though...
Remember that your forwarded domain basically replaces the relevant portion of your .Mac address. I will use my domain name and .Mac iWEb address for example.
    http://www.dirtdoog.com ==> forwards to http://web.mac.com/jwtseng/iWeb
So anytime I see my .Mac URL, I can replace the whole initial section with my domain name...
    http://web.mac.com/jwtseng/iWeb/kate/MyWorld/MyWorld.html
    can be directly replaced with...
    http://www.dirtdoog.com/kate/MyWorld/MyWorld.html
And because I have masking turned on, this is the URL that will stay in my address bar.
For your purposes, you might be interested in assigning subdomains. This feature is located under "Total DNS control". It lets your replace the "www" with a sub-domain that again can be forwarded to any URL. You can use this to forward directly to your photos page using this...
    http://photos.yourdomain.com
That would work too, if you had a page that you commonly like to give out to people.

  • Unlinking a personal domain

Did a favor for a friend of mine and made them a few pages in iweb, which they linked their website to. Now their website has hijacked my iweb! with their website showing in the bottom pane next to my email/.mac account. Have asked them to unlink their page - but think I need to cancel the domain link. Am new to iweb, have made a few pages. This is a little beyond me, so would appreciate any advice.
    Many thanks

If you made and published this site to their .Mac account on your computer, then the site should have nothing to do with your domain. All you need to do is log out of their .Mac account and then sign into your own .Mac account and all your details will be there and totally separate.
The domain.sites file will still be there under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb. All you need to do to keep them separate is to copy the file and keep separate sites in the different files.

  • Uploading different websites to multiple personal domains

I look after some simple websites for organisations I am involved with as well as my business one.
I have begun to use iwebsites as the tool to let me work on them seperatly but I need some advice on uploading them.
I use the publish button on iweb to upload my business site as that is the personal domain linked to my .mac account, but is there a way to do the same for the others or do I have to use something like classic ftp for them?

    kiwedog62:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. if your sites are contained all in one domain file you might want to separate them into their own domain.sites2 file to make editing and publishing easier.
I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want. It works very well for me.

  • Weblogs using IP and not domain

We figured out how to set up weblog user names and we got a domain set up for the server, but when one of the users puts a category in, it defaults to the internal address. Is there anyway to fix this?

I am using Xserve. I checked with someone else and they thing it is a domain problem. Here is an example page for you. If you click on a category, you will see it trys to go to an internal address. All of the IPs have domains linked to them, internal and external.

I will look around in the other forum. Don't go by what the thing says for my OS, it doesn't have Xserve on it.

  • Routing between domains

I now have 2 clarify domains linked together via a TDOMAIN
Gateway. I now need some advise on routing.
Both domains (local and remote) advertise the same service.
What i want is as follows: If FML32 field 'dest' = "remote"
then use the service on the remote domain. If field 'dest'
contains anything else or is blank then use the service on the
    local domain.

    John,
That's right. Routing in ubbconfig determines which server group the message is
delivered to. In that server group could be a gateway, or an application
    server. It's transparent.
Routing in the dmconfig determines which remote domain the message is delivered
to. You could have 3 levels of routing... local ubb, dmc, remote ubb before
the message is finally delivered to the target server group.
All this, and not a single line of application code changes... That's the
    beauty of Tuxedo :-)

    Peter.

  • Cannot Configure PO Link in C1

So I got into work this morning to find my 7.0.3 Post Office was not receiving messages from it's Domain.
I went in to the HTTP view of the domain, and it showed for link that the PO had an address of 127.0.0.1 :(
Went into ConsoleOne link configuration tool and attempted to look at the link configuration there. When I switched from the Domain links to the Post Office link, I received two errors windows:
    "General directory access error

    Then the next:

    Any thoughts?

You should be able to temporarily modify the link from the HTTP console. It will change it but it won't be permanent (e.g., restarting the agent will revert it to what is in eDir).
I cannot remember where in the HTTP console to configure the links... I do it all the time in ConsoleOne. Can you remind me?
