Domain Name Change Disabling Keys

I'm told that our domain name change from hhp.umd.edu to
sph.umd.edu will disable the Contribute keys.
Is that correct and if so, how do I get new keys that are
usable with the new domain?
thanks for your assistance.
daniel

I have a related question. I have about 20 different
connections that I have set up manually. Now that our domain login
has changed the connections are no longer there. Where is that
information stored. I'd like to recover it.

  • Connection Errors to Remote Desktop from OSX after Domain name change

We have an issue using Microsoft Remote Desktop from Macs in our school. All was well until we changed the domain name of our RDS servers and installed a new wildcard certificate. Connections work perfectly in Windows 7/8 and also iOS on iPads, but we cannot
get any Macs to connect having tried OSX 10.7 and 10.9. The error message says the connection failed to load but seems to add a spurious end to the connection string - TS/en-US/Default.aspx - but we cannot trace where this is being picked up.
We can get to the site in a web browser and sign in to receive the "browser not supported" message in Safari so traffic is obviously getting to the severs.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? We have spent days poking around with DNS etc but can't seem to make any progress here.

    Hi Jeremy,
I have tried removing connections and also re-installing the App. We have been using this App since January with no real issues until we made our domain name change - I really don't understand why it works fine in Windows and iOS but not OSX. We are doing
nothing different to what we have done from day 1.

  • Domain Name Change in CSS

We have a CSS doing HTTP load balancing. There is no SSL termination done on this device.
will the domain name change have any impact on the load balancer?
    thanks
    sathappan

If you see the domain name in your CSS config, then yes there will be an impact.
    Otherwise, no.
By default we do not check the domain name.

  • Domain Name Change procedure

Can anyone tell me which are the changes to do in the alui portal when the domain name change ? Which are the files to modify ? Does any tool exist to automate the task ?
    ex : portal.toto.com became portal.titi.corporate.com

I'm interested to any solutions too.
For instance, my solution was to find and change all configuration files with a command line like "find . -name "*.xml""...
But you have also to change configuration inside the portal, like all remote web services addresses
I think it's not so easy to change the domain name

  • Domain name change broke oms/agents/grid control

We merged with another company and the domain names changed for all servers last weekend. I fixed all servers (tnsnames, listner.ora and db_domain parameter), so sqlplus works and all processes work.
My question is: which parameters do I need to change in the agents and the oms for gridcontrol to work again. Where are those parameters? Is there any documentation I can follow?
    Thanks.

    Hi.
if the domain name from EM GC has changed you need to migrate the repository
    and reinstall the oms.

  • Internet Email Domain Name Change

Mangagement wants our email domain name changed because of it's length. Another government agency handles hosting for us now and can't change it for us. I have paid for a new name using a company on the internet and now have to switch it over. I see, in console one, that I can create a second name in Tools -> Groupwise System Operations -> Internet addressing and then set one of them to preffered. Can I do this and then set the new name as preferred? I would like to allow email that is addressed to the old email domain name to flow to the users for 30 days. Looks like I will need to change the foriegn ID in the gwia and also the name in the internal groupwise domain properties. Is there anything else that needs to be done? Is this the best way to do this? Thanks

  • Unity/Domino Domain Name Change

I have a Unity server integrated with a Domino message store. We are changing our domain name. The cisco documentation I have found says that you have to rebuild Unity when moving to a new domain. We aren't moving to a new domain just changing the name. Credentials, SID's, QID's are all staying the same we are just changing the domain name. Does anyone know if I will have to rebuild unity given this change or can I simply change the domain name on the unity box?
    Thank you in advance!

Java is correct here.  I understand that your reaction may be that you can rename a domain and then just reboot member computers twice for the changes to take effect; however, Unity is not a standard member computer.  The AD information is not just membership info for the server but part of data that is propagated into SQL and etc.  So, you will need to rebuild because essentially this, to Unity, is the same as moving the server to a new domain.  You can use the following guide to step thru the process:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/upgrade/guide/ex/5xcuruge080.html
The key is to make sure you get a DiRT backup and then rebuild to the exact same version of Unity including ES, patches, etc.  Then you'll be able to complete the procedures and restore the system via DiRT restore.

  • OS X Server clients can't login after IP renumber and domain Name change

I can not seem to get the logins working again on my OS X server (10.9.4 w/ server 3.1.2 on a 1 yr old. MacMini) after I needed to renumber the IP and change the domain name. I destroyed the Open Directory server, recreated it and created one test account. If I log in to the client with a local account I can connect to the server (Go>Connect To Server)  from the client using my newly created account, but when I try to login to the server  using the same network account login I get the "shaking head" response immediately. I have rebound the server to this client and it says that network accounts are available, but seem to be at a loss to understand why it won't let me login...
The only error message I see in any of the logs is the following:
(AFP Error Log:) Sep 15 20:21:47 isis.mydomain.com AppleFileServer[3032] <Info>: major error <1>: No credentials were supplied, or the credentials were unavailable or inaccessible.
I'm not sure what credentials it is referring to. I created a self signed certificate that I am using with OD, could that be the one?

Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
    1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
    2. You must have a working DNS service, and the server's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
    3. The primary DNS server used by the server must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
    4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
    5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases. Otherwise delete all certificates and create new ones.
    6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
    7. Reboot the master and the clients.
    8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
    9. Disable any internal firewalls in use, including third-party "security" software.
    10. If you've created any replica servers, delete them.
    11. As a last resort, export all OD users. In the Open Directory pane of Server, delete the OD server. Then recreate it and import the users. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.

  • Add-ons not working after server IP address/domain name change.

    Hello everyone,
We have just changed the IP address of our SAP Business One server and moved it into a new domain.
Although SAP Business One is working as expected, the add-ins created by a third party do not work. Having very little knowledge of SAP I do not understand where the problem could be.
The third party were on-site today and have reinstalled the add-ons but they still do not work.
There is an error message when starting the client that states: Module <Compatability Licensed for Add-ons> Expired on <20080115> but the third party have stated that this isn't a license issue.
Can anyone provide any assistance/advice on what the problem may be?
The possibilities for the problem at the moment are:
    - Invalid license key for add-ons (but why would changing the IP address/domain name cause this issue?)
    - The add-on is coded with the original IP address of the server.
    - There is a permissions problem that has been missed (as users are in a new domain).
    Any advice/suggestions are welcome.
    Many thanks,
    John

I am afraid that the possible cause is the addon is coded with the IP address in their connection method. It could be possible that it is a hardcoded addon.
you must ask the addon developer to change it and do not use the IP address anymore in the addon.

  • Question about RAC 10g on server running AIX and domain name changes

We have several 10g clusters running on IBM p-Series AIX servers, and our company is changing the domain name for our network. I am concerned that if we do not change the domain names in the TNSNAMES.ora file and also the /etc/hosts file on each server, the cluster will no longer function. We are using CRS (version 10.2.0.3) and ASM within each cluster.
Does anyone know where I can find information about changing the domain name that was set up as part of the CRS and database installs for RAC? Does anyone have experience doing this, and would be willing to share a few insights? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

You may be able to use the VIPCA utility for RAC to change or modify the public and private settings for your domain names on AIX. Also, the Oracle 10g DBCA "Database Configuration Assistant" should be of use to change your settings for your RAC environment.
Also, see here for a good IBM Redbook that covers Oracle 10g RAC on AIX platforms:

I checked SOST it shows the correct mail id.This is not specific to a particular domain occurs with all domains .
Has anyone encountered such a problem before.

    Hello Navjot,
if you have some basis background you can check TCode SCOT there you can see if the mail connect for external mails is configured correctly. There shoud be at least a node for SMTP communication. If there is such node check that sending s not restricted to certain adresses. Furthermore you could check over the menu if the default domain is set properly.

Assuming the hostname changed on the host where the OMS and repository reside due to the domainname change, I would reinstall. You could update the emoms.properties file and reboot the OMS but not sure that would do the trick.
you can get details on updating the emoms.properties via emctl here: https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=1111894.1&h=Y
    Let me know.

    Check:
    $ olsnodes

    http://www.pythian.com/news/482/changing-hostnames-in-oracle-rac/
1 node of RAC -> you may delete node/change hostname/add node
If domain, not registered in RAC... you may change it ... (no remove node or reinstall RAC)
