Double-charged for Creative Cloud Membership - I need a refund!

My student subscription was automatically cancelled and switched to a regular subscription. Adobe never told me, but I saw on my bank statement that I had been charged $24.99 instead of $14.99.
When I first contacted Adobe and asked for a refund, the customer support rep told me to simply cancel my old subscription and create a new student subscription with my student account. I did this, and then I was charged a FURTHER $14.99 under this new subscription, for the 'new month' that I had already been charged for (that was the original $24.99 payment).
I have now tried twice to contact Adobe's support service, and both times I have heard excuses such as 'There is a technical fault with our systems - when I try to refund you $24.99, it only lets me refund you $14.99' or 'I will escalate this to a higher team member'. I have yet to hear back from Adobe and it has now almost been a month since the double charge, and I am worried I am going to be charged AGAIN (or worse, twice again) in the next month if I don't get this resolved.
Please assist, and in future, please tell your customers before you start charging random balances to their credit cards.

An email is sent 30 days prior to the annual renewal date with details of the renewal price.  Sometimes this might go to your spam/junk folders so it's worth checking there.
When you signed up for Creative Cloud at the promotional price, the offer terms would have explained that the promotional price is valid for 12 months and then you renew at the standard price for that plan.

    Are you getting any prompt that you have to purchase the subscription as you launch the software. If yes then along with that message you will see an option "license this software", click on it and sign in with your Adobe id to activate the subscription.

    you can install and use on up to two computers at any one time with your single-user license so you need not sign out from your old computer's cc app.

    I didn't recieve the CS6 id, and the Chat Man said it doesn't exist for my account. He thought I got duped. When I sent him the link to the dates of purchase allowing for the upgrade he said this was only applicable if I was given the second order number for CS6. Therefore I was not going to get the upgrade. So I finally got someone on the phone, Maria, although she was in tech support, because sales was not avilable, she hunted down the challenge in about a half hour and got me an order id. But if you are stuck in the loop trying to find accountability at Adobe. Just keep calling until you get Maria :O) she fixed it! But customer service at Adobe is a lot like Apple, where you first gotta find the number and then sit through a lot of irrelevent content and be transfered around before your call is dropped and then hopefully on the third, fouth try, you can hopefully find somebody who got the memo and will stay with you till the challenge is resolved.     Why is only 2gb Storage showing for my Creative Cloud account when I have paid for the Photography plan and should be entitled to 20gb?

    The new Creative Cloud Photograph plan and Photoshop Photography Program are two different plans with different entitlements. The Photoshop Photography Program was a limited time offer and the Creative Cloud Photography plan is a permanent offering.
    Why are the offerings in Creative Cloud Photography plan different from the Photoshop Photography Program? For example, the new plan has 2 GB of storage when PPP offered 20 GB. Also, the original PPP offering provided users with a Behance pro membership, which CCP does not.
    Are you sure you do have the old program? Can you check on your order...

    Welcome to Adobe Forum,
    Do you have beta(trial version) installed for light room? If yes, then uninstall it completely by checking the preference boxes too.
    Now restart the computer & download & install from the CC desktop App. It should work.

    In this case since it is a feature bearing update for Creative Cloud Bpolatty will need to download the update through the Adobe Application Manager/

    You don't purchase fonts with Typekit for "permanent use". You're paying a subscription. You either subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud, and as part of the subscription, you can use the fonts as long as you pay your subscription. There is no additional charge. Or, you pay for a subscription to Typekit only.
