Doubt in creating users

hello,
for example we have a two TABLESPACES namely T1,T2.
Tablespace T1 contain user X.Now i wan't to create another user Y ,i am in dilema that whether i have to create the user Y in TABLESPACE T1(contains sifficient memory to store user Y) or TABLESPACE T2.Is there any advantage if created user Y in another TABLESPACE that is in TABLESPACE T2.
please help me
regards

Tablespaces don't contain users. A user owns objects and those objects consume space in one or more tablespaces.
- Will both of these users own objects? Or do they just access objects in other schemas?
- If your database is in ARCHIVELOG mode, can you envision a situation where applications that use objects in one of the two schemas could continue to operate if the objects in the other schema were unavailable?
- Do you anticipate wanting to use transportable tablespaces to move all the objects in a tablespace from one database to another?
- Is there some organizational benefit to having a separate tablespace? The more independent the schemas are and the more independent the applications that access the objects in the different schemas, the more likely you are to want separate tablespaces to simplify things like ensuring that project A doesn't exceed the disk space it's been allocated and/or billing project A for the disk space it is using.
- Are you using LMT's or DMT's? If you're using LMT's, are you using automatic or uniform extent allocation?
Separating objects into different tablespaces shouldn't have any impact on performance. If it does, that implies that the new tablespace has data files on different physical disks, so you could get the same performance benefit by spreading the existing tablespace's data files over all the available disks.

  • Doubt in creating program to display application logs

    Hi,
    I have doubt in creating a program to display application logs.
    The standard transaction code SLG1 has been used to display Application logs till now by the user.
    They came up with the new requirement on this.
    <u>The requirements were:</u>
    1)New custom program shoud be created like SLG1 with limited selection fields( data from, date to, Program name and User)
    2) Detail list should be displyed immediately when this program is executed because SLG1 gives Basic list,Detailed list which is getting displayed when 'Detail view' is selected in the first list.
    I have created one program with limited selection fields as per the requirement using the below function modules .
    BAL_FILTER_CREATE
    BAL_DB_SEARCH
    BAL_DB_LOAD
    and BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY
    <u>Issue :</u> still I am getting the firt list.
    both Basic and Detailled lists are getting triggered at the FM BAL_DSP_LOG_DISPLAY.
    Is it only the way to copy and modify this FM.
    Could you please suggest me?
    Thans in advace,
    babu.

    Hello All,
    Thanks for your valuable suggitions.
    I have seen most of the demo programs.
    I found one fm'BAL_DSP_PROFILE_NO_TREE_GET' which avoids the tree list which is getting listed above the profile list.
    I have been searching alot to omit the Profile list. I searched alot to find any function modules realted to that.
    The requirement was only the Detail list should only be listed.
    Could you please suggest me to avopid that profile list also?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to change the text "form of address" while Create User in EP6.0??

    Hi All,
      We are using NDS 2.0.9 & EP6.0.
      I have the following doubts:
      1) I have to change the text <b>Form of Address</b> which comes when we <b>Create User</b> in EP.
      Can any1 please let me know how to change that text? Is there any .par file? What is the name of .par file (if any) which is used to <b>Create User</b> in EP6.0??
      2) I am getting the value of this <b>form of address</b> by <b>request.getSalutation()</b> in PDK, but this value is coming in the <b>Welcome Message</b> in the masthead. I tried to change the masthead by changing the corresponding code, but i am getting a runtime error. Is there any other method of making this salutation value <b>NOT</b> appear in the masthead welcome message?
      Please help me in this regard. Thanks in Advance. Bye.
    <b>Regards,
    Sai Krishna.</b>

    Hi Sai Krishna,
    within HeadiView.jsp, you'll find this code fragment:
    if(salutation != null) {
      return java.text.MessageFormat.format(welcomeClause, new Object[] {firstName, lastName, salutation}).toString();
    } else {
      return java.text.MessageFormat.format(welcomeClause, new Object[] {firstName, lastName, " "}).toString();
    Just delete the first part and always use the second:
    return java.text.MessageFormat.format(welcomeClause, new Object[] {firstName, lastName, " "}).toString();
    This will delete the salutation without errors
    Hope it helps
    Detlev
    PS: For both solutions, 1. and 2., think of it: These workarounds will be overwritten witch patches / maybe hotfixes.

    Hi,
    Try to use page protection in the Folder.
    Create a Folder in the Main Area of the table and check the Page Protection Option.  Include all your Line types (Row types) in this folder.
    It will avoid page break and display the records in a set.

  • Create user in SAP GRC AC 5.3 for each module (RAR, CUP, SPM, ERM).

    Hello,
    I have a doubt.
    The users of the modules of the SAP GRC AC 5.3 have to created in the UME of the EP Core, is that right?? And thet add the roles of each user for each module (RAR, CUP, SPM, ERM), is that right?
    Best Regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hi Pablo,
    To access GRC AC 5.3 you can create one UME user and assign different roles related to four GRC component.
    Or you can create different GRC user and assign respective components roles.
    The example of GRC Admin role are.
    AEADMIN
    READMIN
    VIRSA_CC_ADMINISTRATOR

  • Can't Create User after migration

    I recently upgraded a PPC xserver running leopard to a new Power Mac running lion server. Everything seemd to go smoothly but after a more thorough look I am having issues. The main one being I cannot create users in the I go into the server.app and the + is greyed out. The only way I have been successful in adding users is through system preferences.
    I am also having a trouble with my web server it appears as though even though the service is running I can't get any pages to load via a web browser.
    Last issue I know of at this moment is I am una able to start the VPN service. Everyitme I click on the toggle it turns on then goes back to off.
    Instead of doing a clean installation I migrated aftert reading that it would be my best bet.
    Can anyone hlep me that may have had this or a simlar problem?

    The prof_attr file contains the comment:
    Can perform most non-security administrative tasks
    for System Admin.
    In addition I don't see a corresponding entry in exec_attr and without that then you aren't going to be using that role to run any commands. You can try it in SMC to see if it works there but its doubtful.
    You'll probably need to create a separate role and add the user to that role.
    A grep of exec_attr shows that User_Management is probably what you're after.

  • Create User Stamp and Update User Stamp

    Hello
    Is there a way to track the User ID who creates a record and also track the last User ID to update the same record?  The only field type is USER STAMP so I do not see a way to track both users.  When I choose USER STAMP, the Writable Once options is grayed out and changed to No.
    Create User ID = 123.  This ID should coordinate with the CREAT STAMP data and time
    Last Update User ID = 789.  This ID should coordinate with the TIME STAMP data and time
    thanks
    Tammi

    Hi Tammi,
    Change Tracking is definitely a best solution to track the changes, no doubt about that. but the problem with chnage tracking is that it requires lot of memory and it hampers the performance of MDM server.
    So, if your requirement is only to know the user who created the record and the last user who changed the record; then there can be a workaround which will definitely solve your problem.
    Try these steps:
    1. First create two fields in the repository say Created By and Last Updated By. First field will be of type Text and second field will be of type User Stamp.
    2. Now in Data Manager, create an assignment which will assign the value of Last Updated By to Created By.
    3. Now create a workflow which will trigger, everytime new record gets added into repository and call this assignment in that workflow.
    4. So everytime you create a record, user Id of creator will gets stored in Created By field and next time when you update the same record that user ID will gets stored in Last Updated by field.
    This should work. Please let us know if problem still persists.
    Regards,
    Varun

  • Is there a way to create user logins or some other way to ...

    Is there a way to create user logins or some other grouping for a set of applications to use (memory) resources optimally -- for example only mail and Safari and Word in one grouping and another for Safari and an audio recording application, etc.?

    It is possible to use Parenal Controls to limit which applications can be used be a particular user account.
    But it's not really necessary as far as managing memory.

  • "The CREATE USER statement must be the only statement in the batch" in SQL Azure - why? what to do?

    I'm getting an error on a line in the middle of a larger sql script, only in SQL Azure.
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'foouser')
    CREATE USER [foouser] FOR LOGIN [foouser] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[dbo]
    GO
    Error: "The CREATE USER statement must be the only statement in the batch."
    I don't actually understand what 'the only statement in the batch' means.
    What is a batch? Is it a SQL file? Is it related to a 'GO' statement or an 'IF' statement? What is the reason for the error? And how do I avoid it?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    >IF...ELSE imposes conditions on the execution of a Transact-SQL statement
    I understand the general purpose of an If statement. I could let go of our definition of statement counting disagreeing too except that because of the error I'm stuck.
    It's less important for Create User but what I am really puzzled over now is a very similar issue how am I supposed to do a safe version of CREATE LOGIN, when I don't know whether a login has been previously created on the server or whether I
    am setting up the database on a clean server?
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.server_principals WHERE name = N'foouser')
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    If I try and execute this script, it throws the same error as above.
    The first unworkable workaround idea is to omit the if statement
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    But if the login already exists on the server (because a similar script was already run), then the script throws an error.
    The second unworkable workaround idea is to do
    DROP LOGIN [foouser]
    GO
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    Obviously this throws an error in the second block if the login doesn't already exist on the server.
    The third workaround idea I have is to go conditional by putting an IF condition around DROP instead of CREATE:
    Unfortunately that doesn't work for me either!
    "The DROP LOGIN statement must be the only statement in the batch"
    (This is despite the fact that 'drop login' is listed on the
    supported commands page, not the partially supported page..?! Which disagrees with the notes on
    this page.)
    Anyway the real question I am interesting in addressing is: is there actually a way to have a 'Create/Delete login
    if exists' operation which is SQL-Azure compatible and doesn't throw me error messages (which messes with the sql execution tool I am using)?
    If there is no way, I would like to believe it's because it would be a bad idea to do this. But in that case why is it a bad idea?

  • Error while creating user for a  domain

    i am developing a web-application which is hosted on tomcat server.
    it is creating domains and users at another remote domain server.
    localy it is working fine..
    but when i test it online..
    the problem is,
    sometimes it works fine ,the domains are being creted at remote server..
    but sometimes it delivers error that domain at remote server can not be created.
    Is it due to fact that theat some errornous code in the buffer of application have older versions of applications causing the error ?
    Code::
    if(strPlanId.equalsIgnoreCase("3")) {
                    //Create domain account  for planid=3 plantype=Cp
                    blnOK=false;
    passwordGS comes from database
    strUrl="http://sosync.net/sosync/admin?pwd="+passwordGS+"&action=user_createdomain&domain="+strSubDomain+".gosync.net&adminpassword=aspire3002&diskquota="+longdk;
                    u=new URL(strUrl);
                    uc=(HttpURLConnection)u.openConnection();
                    code=uc.getResponseCode();
                    if(code == 200) {
                        rUrl="/TransCompleteServlet";
                        blnOK=true;
                        uc.disconnect();
                    } else {
                        rUrl="/GSView.jsp?page=GSError.jsp?REQ=Unknown";
                    if(blnOK) {
                        String strUrlUser="http://gosyncdesk.net/gosync/admin?pwd="+passwordGS+"&action=user_createuser&username="+strEmailId+"&password="+strPassword+"&domain="+strSubDomain+".gosync.net&communityname=Default&firstname="+user.getFirstName()+"&lastname="+user.getLastName();
                       URL u1=new URL(strUrlUser);
                    HttpURLConnection   uc1=(HttpURLConnection)u1.openConnection();
                        code=uc1.getResponseCode();
                        response1=uc1.getResponseMessage();
                        if(code == 200) {
                            rUrl="/TransCompleteServlet";
                            String strUrlTZ="http://gosyncdesk.net/gosync/admin?pwd="+passwordGS+"&action=user_setuserpreference&username="+strEmailId+"&domain="+strSubDomain+".gosync.net&name=web_timezone&value='"+timeZone+"'";
                            u=new URL(strUrlTZ);
                            uc=(HttpURLConnection)u.openConnection();
                            code=uc.getResponseCode();
                              if(code != 200) {
                               rUrl="/GSView.jsp?page=GSError.jsp?REQ=Unknown";
                        } else {
                            rUrl="/GSView.jsp?page=GSError.jsp?REQ=Unknown";
                            mailUtil.sendMail_admin("Error In Creating  User for the Domain","While creating domain for "+user.getEmail()+" user could not be created due to following reason: <BR> "+response1+"<br>GoSync UserName:"+strEmailId+"<br>GoSync Password:"+strPassword+"<br>GoSync Domain :"+strSubDomain+".gosync.net and URl String was :"+strUrlUser+"");
                }

    if the problem is caching try setting the useChasses to false
    uc.setUseCaches(false);
