DOUBT ON RDA PROCESS AND UPLOAD TYPES?

Hi all:
I have two queries:
1. What is RDA process and how it works?
2. What is the basic difference between a Full upload and a Delta upload?
Thanks in advance.
- Arun yadav

Hi Arun,
RDA - is the real time data acquisition function as part of netweaver BIs (BI7), so when data is created in R/3 or CRM it is synchrosnised into BI. There is a good article on searchsap for this.
A Full load is everything from scratch, which is carried out each time unless you have a pseudo delta.
A delta is changed or new data that is extracted when you have carried out an intiailisation (which is in effect a first ever load).
I am sure there must be something in here if you search or at least saphelp for RDA especially.
Hope that helps,
thanks Geoff.

Can any body tell me the
    1. consignement process i.e which document are used at which level
    2. when we are going for exports sales then which condition types are used and on which calulation is based on.

    Hi there,
Consignment is a business process where the goods are stored at the customer / consignee location but are billed only when they are actually consumed.
    It has 4 processes:
Consignment Fillup: order type KB, item catg KBN, Schedule line catg E0 or E1. This is when the stocks are moved from the plant stock to the consignee location.
Consignment Issue: Order type KE, item catg KEN, Schedule line catg C0 or C1. This is when the customer actually uses the goods for cunsumption.
Consignment Return: order type KR, item catg KRN, Schedule line catg D0. This is when the customer puts back the goods into the consignment stock (returns to condignee location)
Consignmnet pickup: order type KA, item catg KAN, schedule line catg F0, F1. This is when the stocks are put back into the plant stock from the consinment special stock. That is from the consignee location to the plant.
For all the above order types it has standard delivery LF & returns delivery LR delivery types.
Stocks at the consignee location are maintained as consignment special stock. Controlled by indicator W in item catg KEN.

  • What is Cost Center and Activity type

Can any one make me understand Conseptually, what is Cost Center and Activity Type

<b>Cost Center:</b>A cost centers is an organizational unit within a controlling area that represents a clearly delimited area of responsibility where costs are monitored against a budget.
Cost centers represent areas of responsibility (management areas) that generate and influence costs.
Cost centers are the locations at which the costs are incurred
<b>Activity types</b> describe activities produced by a cost center. They are measured in units of time or quantity. Activity quantities are valuated using a price.
For example: the maintenance department provides maintenance service at a labor hourly rate of SAR 2000 or USD 1000.
When the activities produced by a cost center are used by other cost centers, orders or projects, this means that the resources of the sending cost center are being used by the receiver objects.
By recording the planned and actual quantities consumed, you reallocate cost incurred on the sender into the receivers.
Activity Types can be grouped to facilitate reporting and cost allocation.
Hope it clears your basic doubt on Cost center and Activity type
    Assign points if helpful.

  • FB05 - trans to be processed and first line item PK for doc type

    Hi all,
Me quite confused of the entry for the following document type in FB05
    DG - cust credit memo
    DR - cust invoice
    SA- gl acc doc
    SB - gl acc posting
    KG - vdr credit memo
    DZ - customer payment
Need the help to let me know for document type above, what radio button to choose in transaction to be processed and also what posting key use at first line item.
Also if i choose the wrong transaction to be processed radio button, any impact?
    thanks
    rgds

Document type is primarily used to distinguish different various types of transactions. Ultimately, there are only two effects in accouting - debit and credit. Thus, doc type helps distinguish btw various types of accounting entries. It also controls certain field status while document posting and also drives the number range for the accounting document.
Posting keys determine whether a transaction will be a credit or a debit. They also have an influence over the field status of the document entry screen. Posting keys are broadly divided into those belonging to
    Customer                             - Acct type C
    Vendors                               - Acct type V
    GL                                       - Acct type G
Fixed Assets                        - Acct type A and
Material Mgmt. transactions   - Acct type M
For each account type there are both debit and credit posting keys. You can clik on F4 on the posting key field and see the various entries. You will understand.
Thus, which posting key to enter depends on the transaction you want to enter.

Plz answer to this questions, good answers will be rewarded.

    Hi Smitha,
<i>1. what are fault message types and how do we catch any exceptions in file to proxy scenario , can any one give simple example</i>
Fault Message are Msg type that provided whenever u create a namespace..they are usually used to get the exception or error mapped which has occured while execution of Application at the sender/receiver end....
One scenario where i had used it from Soap to RFC where i defined the exception in rfc source code at r/3 end...I mapped that exception to Fault msg type that i created of my own type(didnt used the default)..
Refer this for Fault msg usage in Asynch scenarios.

For this you have to define the 3rd Party TS & BS in sld.

Hello .. I've been subscribed for ic;oud for 20$ per year and I found it useless for many reasons: that I can not disconnect my mobile while the uploading process and it takes long time for uploading my data .. Its not a reliable system that's why I need to deactivate the space service and take my money back .. Thanks

The "issues" you've raised are nothing to do with the iCloud service.
No service that uploads data allows you to disconnect the device you are uploading from while uploading data. Doing so would prevent the upload from completing. It is a basic requirement for any uploading service that you remain connected to it for uploading to be possible.
The time it takes to upload data to iCloud is entirely dependent on how fast your Internet connection is, and how much data you are uploading. Both of these things are completely out of Apple's control. Whichever upload service you use will be affected by the speed of your Internet connection.

  • Process and initiate operations in port types

What is the difference between the process and initiate operation in the port types definition found in wsdl file? Is this used too define sync and async processes?

    Hi.
As far as I understand, process and initiate are just naming conventions. What really makes the difference is that, for sync processes you have a single portType with an input/output operation, and for async processes you have two portType definitions, each one containing an input only operation.
For sync processes, the requestor makes the call and waits for the response, using the same channel (same port).
For async processes, the requestor makes the call in one port and forget about it. Later on, a callback can be generated through the other port type as a means of notifying the requestor back in an async way.

  • Relation between Inventory Process keys and movement types

    Dear All,
Is there any way to find the relation between Inventory process keys (which is in SBIW-> Settings for Application specific data sources(PI) -->Logistics -->Settings for IBU Retail / CP --> Transaction key maintenance for SAP BW) and movement types .
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Raju

    Hi,
    Please read the note below.
Note 353042 - Howto: Activate transaction key (PROCESSKEY)
It has something for you ....
The process key (0PROCESSKEY and 0BWAPPLNM) of the InfoSources has not been filled. As a result, no key figures are updated because of the update routine of the participating InfoCube and along with it no records are inserted into the InfoCube. In each update routine, the system checks the content of the PROCESSKEY. If this field has no contents, then no data is written into the InfoCube because of the IF condition in the update rules.
    Solution
So that you can work in the above mentioned InfoSources, you MUST activate the determination of the process key. This is done with the help of Transaction MCB_ which you can find in the OLTP IMG for BW (Transaction SBIW) in your attached R/3 source system.
Here you can choose your industry sector. 'Standard' and 'Consumer products' are for R/3 standard customers, whereas 'Retail' is intended for customers with R/3 Retail only.
You can display the characteristics of the process key (R/3 field BWVORG, BW field 0PROCESSKEY) by using Transaction MCB0.
If you have already set up historical data (for example for testing purposes) by using the setup transactions (Statistical Setup Programs) (for example: Purchasing: Tx OLI3BW, material movements: OLI1BW) into the provided setup tables (for example: MC02M_0SCLSETUP, MC03BF0SETUP), you unfortunately have to delete this data (Tx LBWG). After you have chosen the industry sector by using  MCB_, perform the setup again, so that the system fills a valid transaction key for each data record generated. Then load this data into your connected BW by using 'Full update' or 'Initialization of the delta process'. Check, whether the system updates data into the involved InfoCubes now.
If all this is not successful, please see Note 315880, and set the application indicator 'BW' to active using Transaction 'BF11'.
    Hope this helps.

  • We purchased Lion OS in April and uploaded to our iMac and now want to upgrade out MacPro.  We cannot figure out how to use the previous purchase (says you can use on 3 computers)....confused.  How do we begin the process using our previous purchase?

We Purchased Lion OS in April and uploaded to our iMac.  We are now ready to upgrade our MacPro, but can't seem to find out how to upgrade using the previous purchase (said we could use the Lion OS purchase on up to 3 devices).  We have the receipt of purchase with the Order # and Purchase #, but I just can't figure out how to do the upgrade.  Where do I go?  What reference # do I enter?

Go back to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Lion. It should show up in your Purchases list ready to download. If it doesn't, log out, log back in, and hold down Option key while clicking on Purchases.
A tip: Once the download is finished, dismiss the Installer. Go to your Applications folder and find it - copy it to another folder or hard drive to keep for emergency purposes. Then click on that installer and install (it is automatically removed/deleted after the installation is complete). That way you can avoid having to do another lengthy download.
And, yes, just to confirm: you can install Lion on as many Macs you own and control. However, the license is not transferable; if you ever sell the machine, you need to erase Lion and reinstall the original OS.
You don't go to iTunes - go to the Mac App Store (in your Applications folder). You do need 10.6.6 (or 10.6.8) to have the Mac app store.

  • GP: Creation of process for uploading file with approval or a rejection

Problem: It is necessary to organise process of uploading files in KM repository with approval or a rejection.
I have created process with two callable objects.
    1. File Input
    2. Interactive Form/File Approval
    Has grouped structure "File"
In Runtime, during object performance "Interactive Form/File Approval" there is an error:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: pdfSource of InteractiveForm UI element should be populated with pdf binary content in USE_PDF mode
It is one problem, the second problem consists in that how to organise a folder choice where the file will be loaded.

    Hi Pustovoytov Stanislav ,
Check whether if the context attribute pdfsource is of binary type or any other type. It sbould be of binary type.
And about the second one you can organize the folder structure in the KM administration.
    Thanks

  • Difference between RDA delta and normal Delta

    Hi All
I have some doubts regarding the RDA [Real Time data Acquisition] process I am aware  that RDA enables us to get the data every  minute with help of Daemon process. What is the diffrence between th delta mechanism that is followed in RDa and normal dataflow.
    Thanks & Regards
    Santosh Varada

    Hi Varda ,
RDA is Real Time Data Acquisition . In this We can retrieve Live data . While using Normal DTP We can t pull live data
For example :- Today We have Create a 50 orders . This 50 order information pulled after completion of  sales order creation . we can t see live . But RDA process pulled the data at the point of sales order creation it self ,It support only Stranded DSO .It will use Some industries like FMCG.Retail, banking sector they want to know current data information from BI Side then RDA.

  • Editing and uploading a downloaded document

Have an application that allows for both uploads of documents (using a File Browse item and transferring the relevant fields from the HTMLDB_APPLICATIION_FILES view to my customized table) and downloads of documents (using a call via a URL to a customized copy of the Oracle download procedure presented in the sample application). Both the upload and download process work OK.
The issue I'm running into, is that when a user wants to download a document, the user is presented with the choice of opening or saving the downloaded document. That works OK, but what we'd really like to do is offer the user a chance to edit the downloaded document and then by saving the changes (such as by closing the window in which the downloaded document appears, after making edits), the modified document is "re-uploaded" to the database. What we have to do now is save the download document to the user's PC, then the user has to open the document and modify it, save it, and re-upload it to the database.
Any ideas on how we can save the users a few steps and upload the document directly after editing? Thanks.

Well, you can only do that when the content being edited is plain text (mime type text/plain) and less than 32K (hard limit in PL/SQL)
Looking at how that page (4000:46) is built in f4000.sql, there seem to be some APIs that do some magic
    l_text := wwv_flow_utilities.clob_to_varchar2(
wwv_flow_utilities.blob_to_clob(p_blob=>l_blob,p_charset=>l_charset));Clearly, all these are undocumented internal-only Oracle APIs that Oracle is not obliged to support.
Search around on asktom.oracle.com, I am sure you will find code examples that do this sort of thing.
    Hope this helps.
