Downlaoded .exe for Firefox5 gives "file corrupted" error when I try to open it

I am running Windows XP on Parallels 5 on top of MAC OSX on an iMac24.
I have no problems downloading Firefox 5 on OSX for Mac, nor for downloading Thunderbird on WinXP/Parallels5.
Just Firefox5.exe comes up "file corrupted" when I try to run it or open it on WinXP/Parallels5.

Opeing PDF documents gives me an error when adobe trys to open it.

Hello,
I changed the way files open from SharePoint. It now will open your application directly such as excel and word will launch those apps to open them. When I try to PDF files I get the following error
"There was an error opening this document. The file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
If i right click on the link and save target as, then save the file on my desktop i can then open it in adobe. So the file is fine. This error occurs on all PDF files.
Any ideas om what this issue might be?

For troubleshotting your issue, please take steps as below:
Launch IE -> Click on Gear (settings) -> Manage Add-ons -> Show: All Add-ons ->
There are 2 Adobe Add-ons:
Adobe PDF Reader & Adobe Acrobat Sharepoint Open Document
Double-click both and be sure to click the button "ALLOW ON ALL SITES".

FireFox 3.6.15 will not start it is NOT compatable with Avast 6.0.1000 sandbox, it gives the following error when I try to open in sandbox: XULRunner Error: Platform version '1.9.2.15' is not compatible with minVersion =1.9.2.14 maxVersion = 1.9.2.14

Before FireFox was updated to ver 3.6.15, FF would open in Avast sandbox with no issue. Since the update to FF I can only open FF outside of Avast sandbox. Avast version 6.0.1000
I turned off all Add-ons and still No Joy!
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit; I7-950 CPU, fresh reboot does not fix this issue.

I had already tried a reinstall before, but thanks for the suggestion. Starting FF in Safe mode did not help either.
XULRunner is specific to FF. Mostly found discussion about using the code in web pages when I used Google before posting.
When FF went from version 3.6.14 to version 3.6.15 this issue started. Please note the Error message and the version info I just mentioned.

Avast sandbox is up to date and works just fine with everything else. More importantly it worked just before the update was installed.
The only reason I bothered with the update is because Mozilla touted it as a security issue and there was NO mention of any known issues with sandbox software.

Mavericks is not recognizing the .smi extension - on my Mac it thinks it's a RealPlayer document. You are not going to be able to do anything with this - it requires AppleWorks to be present to be updated, and you can't run AppleWorks on Mavericks (other than by the rather roundabout process of installing Snow Leopard Server in Parallels and installing AppleWorks on that, as described here).

Algebra CD keeps displaying "Script run-time error" when I try to open it

I have a CD that came with my Algebra book (I bought it used) for Technical School and it keeps displaying Scrip run-time error when I try to open it. I have updated Quick-time player, just in case that was the problem.

YES! There is a CoreGraphics.dll cited in the iTunes event. This is what exactly the window said

For the .ttf file, this is what it showed.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

This happens to me as well. However, I have a shortcut on my desktop as well as my quick start bar. When this has happened to me, I can usually log back in without restarting, by using the shortcut on the desktop rather than the usual quick start bar.

Installing my updated CS4 on a new I Mac: "legacy Java SE 6 runtime" error when i try to open psd

Bought the original Creative Suite package 1n 2004, installed on my new apple G5. Upgraded in 2009 to CS4 and sometime installed on a 2nd computer. I'm sure I registered each product. I don't have the original disk's, but I have the serial number. I'm trying to install CS on my new I Mac. It fails authorization in the download. I went ahead and downloaded the 30 day trail like suggested. I get the "legacy Java SE 6 runtime" error when i try to open psd. After my first attempt failed and I read the help lessons on deactivation, I believe I have deactivated from the G5, but I'm still getting the same code when trying to open psd.

Download and install: Java for OS X 2014-001
Reboot your Mac.

AFTER DOWNLOADING THE LATEST VERSION OF ITUNES, I CAM GETTING AN ERROR WHEN I TRY TO OPEN IT. MSVCR80.DLL WAS NOT FOUND. UNABLE TO LOCATE COMPONENT. BEFORE I REMOVE THIS VERSION AND TRY TO RELOAD AGAIN, JUST WANTED TO BE SURE I WOULDN'T LOSE ALL 200 PURCHASED SONGS ON MY PC.

ITunes shows a CoreGraphics.dll inpage error when I try to open it.

I have always use itunes and recently my itunes wont open anymore. It shows an "inpage error" every time when I try to open it. It never happen before and I just check my computer for viruses and its clean. I have already tried to uninstall itunes and donwload it again, didnt work. Help please, i cant even upload songs to my ipod now.

PWA 2010 error when i try to open the project name in Project Center

For what it's worth, given the age of this question, I've found that stopping and starting the Project Application Service on each server via Central Admin is less disruptive to the rest of your farm when using Project Server in a larger SharePoint
farm.
IISRESET will cause active user sessions to be disconnected and could result in lost data.
I also found that recycling the app pool associated with my Project Server web application in IIS and restarting the web site did not resolve this situation so the IISRESET is not a guaranteed fix.
Targeting only the Project Application Service from Central Admin removes this minor risk and actually restored access to our Project Sites.
