I bought dreamweaver CS5 a while ago but my digital media is damaged. Where can I download the setup files so that I can plug my licence in and get it running on my new PC.

If purchased from Adobe then the best option would to be to return and reorder the correct product. How can I download dreamweaver Cs5.5 onto a new computer

I bought dreamweaver Cs5.5 education edition a couple years ago for windows. I now want to download it to a new laptop because the computer it was originally on stopped working. Also my new laptop doesn't have a disk drive so i'm not sure how to download it without the disk drive.

How do you download Dreamweaver CS5 on a second computer?

I heard you can download Dreamweaver on 2 computers, but I can't figure out how.

The only caveat is that the serial number is platform specific: 2 x Macs or 2 x Windows.
You cannot use a Mac serial number to install on Windows, and vice versa.

Downloading Dreamweaver CS5.5

I bought this product by download 10 months ago in November 2011. My system crashed and I have to re-install all software. Adobe have said they cannot help as they only ship CS6 now. The cost of upgrading to that is quite steep. Does anyone have any advice as to how to get this older version installed?

Thanks very much for taking the time and trouble to reply. I now have it working fine, which is a great relief.
It was the second option you gave that worked for me. I had in fact seen this before but it did not work for me then. I tried it again following your recommendation and read it more thoroughly. I realised that my error previously was not being signed in concurrently to my adobe account. If you have not done that you get access denied.
As regards the first option I have found that adobe will not supply CS5.5 onlt CS6. Even if you start off on a download screen which refers to 5.5 it changes to 6. In my call to adobe support I was told the same thing, that I could not get 5.5 and the only way to do it was borrow a disk from a friend or prevail upon a reseller to let me have one. It does seem unusual to me that a major software company drops an old version so soon after a new release.

I really hate not having a printed reference manual for Adobe products.
Where can I download a reference manual for Dreamweaver? I recently downloaded an Adobe PDF manual for another application but didn't take down the URL as I should have.

Go to a local Staples or copy center and ask about pricing. I think you will be surprised at how much it would cost and Adobe does it to help the environment and to keep costs down.

I cannot install Dreamweaver CS5.5 on my new laptop.

It requires I install Dreamweaver CS3 which I did. Then Dreamweaver 3 requires yet another install of something I have not had for 10 years. So I am unable to use Dreamweaver. What a load of you know what. I know software pirating is an issue but this is beyond absurd. I purchased upgrades over the years and have the license keys for the upgrades (CS3 and CS5.5) now find out they are worthless.

Not true in my case. Here is what I did:
Downloaded DreamWeaver CS5.5 and installed it. It asked for my key.
I installed the CS5.5 key and was told it was not a valid key.
Contacted support and was told to enter the DreamWeaver CS3 key.
Entered the CS3 key and was informed that the system could not find any evidence of CS3 on my laptop.
Downloaded and installed CS3.
Entered the key for CS3 and was told I needed the key for yet another older, long gone, product.
Uninstalled DreamWeaver (all versions) and every other Adobe product.
Purchased replacement products for the now gone Adobe products.
Began working on learning the new apps.

Will Fireworks 8 and Flash Pro 8 upload to Dreamweaver CS5.5?

I have Macromedia Studio 8 and use Dreamweaver 8 almost exclusively. I would like to purchase Dreamweaver CS5.5, but would like to know if work in both Flash Pro 8 and Fireworks 8 would be able to be uploaded to Dreamweaver CS5.5 or do I need to purchase both of those in CS5.5?

I'd bet that content created in Flash Pro 8 and Fireworks 8 would be compatible with Dreamweaver CS5.5, though I'm not absolutely certain of it (and I'm not quite sure what you mean by "upload"). However, I'm definitely wondering why you're interested in upgrading Dreamweaver but not the other two applications.
If you're serious about taking the leap, you can download Dreamweaver CS5.5 as a 30-day trial before purchasing, to see how it works in conjunction with those applications.

Be aware that CS6 is just around the corner. You may want to wait just a bit and try that instead. On the other hand, if you were to purchase Dreamweaver CS5.5 now, you'd probably qualify for an automatic upgrade to the CS6 version when it's released.

Downloading and editing an existing WordPress site in Dreamweaver CS5.

Hello! New to the forums, here.
I'll try to be brief. I've got a WordPress site in-place at metalmeter.com that is hosted through HostGator. Basically, what I'm looking to do is get the site from the remote server and edit it in Dreamweaver CS5, previewing all changes on a local testing server before putting the updated contents back on the remote server.
Now, let me be clear: I've tried plenty of the tutorials. I've watched hours of videos. I still can't get it configured properly. I've got the FTP connection to the remote server running smoothly. I've got XAMPP installed. I'm having difficulties (and I apologize for being vague), and I just don't know where the problem is located. In my htdocs folder for XAMPP, I've got two subfolders 'metalmeter' for the remote server's downloaded contents, and 'wordpress' for the wordpress installation that every page seems to be pointing me toward. What confuses me is that when I try and open the uppermost index.php file on the remote server, the dynamically discovered content is not being displayed in the live view with my local testing server. I want to be viewing my existing WordPress site in its entirety exactly as I see it online while I'm editing it, and then pushing back updated files to the /public_html/ root directory of the remote server so that I can edit the site from my local client. I'm extremely new to Dreamweaver, so any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
If you know how to do exactly what I'm trying to do and have been successfully viewing and editing your existing WordPress site in Dreamweaver for upload, please take some time to explain the set-up. I'd be forever in your debt!

I agree I don't see any reason to want to edit a Wordpress site in Dreamweaver. If you are using Wordpress then you may as well put Dreamweaver in the bin. For sure and that's why people who use Dreamweaver and feel the need to manipulate a Wordpress site in Dreamweaver because Wordpress is 'in vogue' get lost. Wordpress just containes a lot of pages with nothing to see apart from some php, many of who will not understand one jot.

For a quick tip on Theming, open your remote site in Firefox equipped with the 'Web Developer Toolbar'. Edit CSS on screen. Save changes to your local site and upload it to the remote server. No testing server required.
Wordpress is Wordpress and Dreamweaver is Dreameaver. As far as I can make out the two don't mix.
Ideally you would just choose a Wordpress theme which most relates to the nice site you have designed in Fireworks of which you won't find any however goodthe themes are. Then manipulate the themes css that's if you can understand it. Even for a seasoned css expert its heavy going because everyone produces css differently to achieve the same results.
Leave Wordpress well anlone unles you're going to use it out of the box so to speak or as a web-developer don't mind a bit of reverse engineering.

I downloaded updates and installed manually, had to mess around a bit.
Start the updater from the program first, then install from the download.
Also, moved plugins that are for Premier from common plugins directory,
to the Premier plugins directory. Stopped the error I got launching After Effects
that said to reinstall the plugins.
