Download pix from my camera to my iPod
I just bought my iPod 5G 60GB and the camera connector, but I can't download my pix from neither of my cameras (Canon EOS 350 D/Digital Rebel XT and Canon PowerShot G5).
When I plug in the connector, the iPod gets ready to get the pix, but when I plug in the USB cable to the camera and switch it on, the iPod doesn't recognize it and won't fetch the pix.
What can I do?

I found a tip to that issue.
One must find a CF/SD/MMC reader or whatever kind of memory card one has.
Switch on the iPod, set it on "import photos"
plug the CF/SD... reader in the iPod camera connector,
plug the memory card in the reader
click on "import Photos" and wait until the iPod tells you "ready to connect"
and now one can plug the iPodcameraconnector into the dock connector of the iPod.
Do follow the process without bypassing anything: one might freeze the iPod and have to reset it (happend to me, God knows why)
Normally it should be able to download the pix.

I changed the setting in the camera to "PRINT/PTP" rather than "PC CONNECTION". The manual for the camera states that you should NOT set it to "PRINT/PTP" if you are connecting the camera to a PC, but it works.
I can now download RAW and JPG files no worries. -

No it does not. I have one and know and link says for iPad only. The camera connection kit only works with the iPad

Problems downloading photos from the camera to iPod
Last week I tried to download photos from the camera to my 60 GB iPod.
I had almost near 150 pictures (jpg) but something happened. The iPod (or the iPod Camera Connector) isn't able to transfer more than 60 photos (aprox.).
For bigger amounts, the tranfer speeds up and after finishing, I can't find the photos and I can't transfer photos anymore or listen to music o play videos.
Is there any restriction concerning photo transfer? What could be the problem?

That is why a card reader is so useful. You do not have to wait for the camera to charge and avoid the kind of errors above. -
I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem. All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera. Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library. Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that. To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it. I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth. This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it. If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly). How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on?See my response to your other post.

If the music you are wanting to have on your iphone was purchased through itunes you can then go to your front display to settings>itunes and app store from there you have a toggled switch that allows you to automatically download music and apps by toggling the switch. You will need to toggle the switch below these switchs that allows for cellular data to be enabled if this has not already been enabled. This then will automatically download music and apps directly to your device with no additional charge to you.

When I download pictures from my camera they use to also downloan in Cannon's Easy Photo. In my new computer they don't. I want them to. How??? Also how do i edit photos in Photoshop and print 4 to a page?

Use of the tools is pretty much the same in all versions of the program.
"Edit" is a menu item in Photoshop Elements Editor. Don't you see this? -
My photos are not showing up as layers in the layers panel, only as one layer, so I am not able to make changes to the layers. Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I downloading them from my camera wrong? I have watched the video and the photos don't open that way on my layers panel. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to edit out the background and turn it a different color.

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer. -
I recently bought a new computer with Win 8.1 installed. When I installed CS6 64 bit, the installation went seamlessly. My problem is that when I try and download images from my camera, it automatically launches the Windows Photo software to download the photos. I would like to use the Bridge to do this for several reasons. If I turn off the Windows Photo program, it takes me back to Bridge but when I click on Download Photos, it causes Bridge to lock up.
If I click on download photos before I turn on my camera, it does not find the camera (as expected) but then I turn on the camera and reset list and Bridge finds the camera and I can download the photos. Then if I try and download additional photos, Bridge locks up and I need to turn off the software and reboot the computer in order to get anything to download.
I have gone to the System Settings and changed the AutoPlay settings to automatically select Bridge when I download Pictures...I also selected Bridge for the Memory Card. Under Devices, my camera is listed and that is set to "Import Photos and Videos"

horton05It is not possible to install OS X 10.7.2 on a Mac with a G5 processor.
In order for 10.7.2 to be installed you must have an Intel processor and not a PowerPC which G5 is. Please straighten out your information.
Also the version of iPhoto you are attempt to run would be helpful.

I downloaded photos from digital camera and now I want to delete some but when I hit the photos icon it only brings up pics with the only options being move or slideshow no trashcan or delete options available
You should be able to delete photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing -
I recently replaced iPhoto with Aperture. When I download pics into Aperture they are place in a file that's called "Untitled Project." When I downloaded pics from my camera to iPhoto they were put in a file that was named with the download date (YYYY MM DD). Can I do that with Aperture (as the download default)?

When I import I have an Applescript that stores the images in a year month day folder-project structure so I haven;t used the default Aperture behavior in some time. When I tested it out to reply to you I was doing it from the file system and it picked up the date from the folder. mea culpa.
Anyway the closest you can get is to have Aperture split the images by date. IN the Aperture preferences set the project split granularity
Autosplit into Projects
and then in the import window set
Automatically split projects.
This will give projects named Month Day, Year (ie: Mar 13, 2012) there is no way to change this
As I said I have a script that runs on import and sets up a structure like:
Of course many here will say not to name projects this way, that Aperture has the ability to sort by date and you're better off naming projects something more meaningful. For them that is true and it might be for you also. For me I like to store my masters this way, it works for the way I shoot.
