You could just disable updates. Change these settings in about:config.
* app.update.auto - set to false
* app.update.enabled - set to false
You can still check for updates with the "Check for Updates" button in the About Firefox window, but it will download the update file anyway if there is an update available. You can also check which is the current release from here:

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

My iMac is quite new and less than half full, so I don't think deleting anything would have helped. Maybe the CPU was working too hard for a while ?

The immediate solution that comes to mind is to email the pictures. You can open the photo, click the arrow out on the bottom left, and email the photo that way.
Otherwise, if you're trying to Text Message the pictures by MMS, go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn that on. Also turn on MMS Messaging below that. -

When I try to turn my iPhone off, it automatically restarts itself. It has never done this before; does anyone know why it might be doing this/how to stop it happening?
This had happened to me today as well. I gave constantly tried resetting it, (I don't particularly want to restore it), but earlier did you find that your headphones went funny? Mine would stop playing music, but the phone would keep going. And if I paused it, and then pressed play, No sound would come out. And if I took the headphones out while it was paused it would play on the device, but as before, not through the headphones. But, I fixed it (temporarily) by pulling the headphones out while it was playing, and plugged them back it. But normally this would pause the music, and it didn't, just continued on the phone, with no sound coming out of the speakers. And it would only last for a couple of minutes and happen again. Then I tried resetting the phone, and it wouldn't turn off. Them I fixed the turn off problem by placing on a dock, and I think this also fixed the headphone problem. But then I took it off and then on the dock, and now it won't play through the dock (but it charges) and it won't turn off, again!
Also, apples customer serivice is plainly crap. This should be easy to fix. And I shouldnt have to pay a fee to ring them up for service help. -

Running the new and improved 6.0.2 with Mac OS 10.6.8 on a Macbook Pro and Firefox keeps crashing. When I have Yahoo on my screen with MY FAVORITES on the left side I can't click on ANY of my favorites without a crash. I can hardly navigate anywhere without a crash. something similar has been happening to me for a a couple weeks (even before the most recent update, but now is definitely worse) on my 2010 MacBook Air. Firefox freezes upon startup, and then freezes maybe every twenty minutes or so when I'm actively using it, staying frozen for at least a minute or two. it drives me crazy.

I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

So every time I try to open Spotify or Steam (a video game application) my computer becomes unresponsive to everything but the mouse. I can move the mouse around but nothing is clickable. i am running vista home premium on desktop and vista basic on laptop. have placed my itunes music with .itl and .xml files onto external drive connected to another desktop running vista and can no longer access music on first two mentioned comps only on the one connected to external drive. always am told that the library cant be read because it was created using a newer version of itunes. have tried to download 10.3 but it always tells me that i have and invalid hard drive j and to try again. any ideas?
Older versions of iTunes cannot read libraries created with newer versions of iTunes. You need to have the same version of iTunes on all your PCs. Is that the case?

Macbook pro 15 inch crashes every other day for no reason, how can i resolve this issue
my macbook pro is connected to an external monitor and i use apple key board and magic mouse. for the past few weeks, it has been crashing almost continously (at least once or twice a week) and i have to restart the computer. this has never happened before and i haven't added any new software to it that i may think can cause the problem.

If not, then that really isn't a crash, and you need to learn how to break out of the issue in question.

There are 3 issues I have, as it reads in the title.
1) I am running iTunes on a Win7 64-bit ThinkPad, and iTunes shows up as a 32-bit application in the Task Manager, always. I tried even the complete uninstalling (after removing Bonjour, Apple Mobile Service, deleting the folders, etc.) and yet, it shows up the same way.
2) When I run diagnostics, it says 'Secure link to iTunes Store failed'. I've tried many things from whatever I've read in the forums and nothing seems to be changing that.
3) Every time I click the 'Info' tab on any iDevice (I tried it with a 3GS and a iPod Touch), I get a 'SyncMapiInterfaceHelper_x64 has stopped working' message thrice. I don't know the significance of thrice but it just does come.

The issue is when I run diagnostics. I happened to run it last night while updating my 3GS to iOS 6, and there was a 3194, and a search to solve that, led me to running the diagnostic.
