Downloaded the installer, but it won't install

Okay, after many (MANY) tries I finally managed to download the itunes program. I have dial up, and I was continuously disconnected while downloading, so I ended up taking my handy-dandy memory stick to a friend's and downloaded the entire 35.1 MB files in 20 minutes. However, once I loaded it onto my own computer at home, I am unable to run the program. I click, nothing happens. I go to Add/Remove programs, try to do it that way, it finds the programming, but then does NOTHING. I've made sure that I am logged on as owner/administrator, tried so many other tricks I can't remember them all, what else can I do?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I downloaded the installer but I can't install Firefox

I downloaded the installer and try to install FF but I can't. It goes up to extracting files and then nothing. At first I wanted to try FF4 but it could not work so I guessed I should uninstall the ff3.6 that I had on my computer. Now I can't install any version of FF.
I turned off the firewall i also removed Avast from my computer and another Antimalware program I had but nothing. It says extracting files and that's it. Nothing more

You should download and install iBooks first and then buy books from the iBooks Store. You worked backwards. Where did you but the book? Or where did you download it from?

similar problem that I'm hoping revives this thread. Took over 24hrs to dload additional content (after another full day for the actual problem) due to a bad dload rate. so quitted, and relocated closer to my wifi router. Restart, open logic x, Menu bar: Logic Pro/ Download Additional content ...Tells me i have no internet connection.... Ahh... I do, I'm using it right now! Tried restarting and relaunching. same thing every time.
Any clues?

I have just had a good chat with an Adobe live chat person. He has explained to me why I am getting the U44M1P7 error.
I have a perpetual version of CS6 that I bought earlier in the year. The creative cloud update only applies to versions of CS6 that have been downloaded via creative cloud. The error means I am trying to update a version of CS6 (my perpetual copy) that has aleady been updated.
I have version 13.0.4 and the update is 13.1.2. If I want the update I have to uninstall CS6 from my computer (my perpetual version) and download CS6 from creative cloud. Then I will be able to have the updates.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

My Macbook Pro downloads software updates but it won't install them?

My late 2011 MacbookPro downloads software updates but when I try to install them, it tells me that it's not supported? The software is currently OS X Lion 10.7.5 and I tried upgrading a few things but it won't install. For example, I tried to get the latest update for iMovie, which is crucial for my studies, but it just tells me to update my macbook which is driving me nuts! Help please?

You would need to upgrade to Mavericks to upgrade iMovie to the version now on the App Store.

While extracting LR 4.2 files I am getting an error to re-download the installer but to no avail

I am using Win 7, 64 bit; I am running LR 4.1 RC2; have downloaded LR 4.2; when trying to extract the files from the download, I get an error and am told to re-download the LR installer again. I have deleted and downloaded the software several times to no avail. So what is the issue and how can I install LR 4.2? I have successfully installed the updates for CS6, Bridge, Camera Raw, etc. Thank you.

Do you have another browser to download? That often does the trick.

Have you checked to see what the Partition Map is? It sounds like, and this is a stab in the dark, that you might not be set on a GUID format.
To check, go into Disk Utility and highlight the drive you want to use. in the bottom of the Disk Util box, you will see the details of the disk itself. Check to see if it is GUID, listed under Partition Map Scheme.
If it is then you have a different issue and one that I am unable to answer. If it isn't then you will need to back any data up from the drive you want to use and reformat the disk to GUID. This should then correct the install issue you are experiencing. Reformatting is relatively easy, just following the prompts in the Partition Tab, in Disk Util.
However, to reiterate, back up any data ypou wish to keep prior to this! Reformatting will wipe the disk completely.

A window pops up that says a new version of Firefox is available (version 32.x). I click on install, and nothing happens. The wheel keeps spinning so I close the window. When I click on About Firefox and then click on Updates available at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/, a web page opens that says: Congrats! You're using the latest version of Firefox.
If I'm using the latest version, why do I get a window that says a newer version is available and why won't it download?

It is strange however that your updater isn't installing the update for you. Are you using a user account with the right privileges?

With everyone and their iDogs trying to update at the same time, things are gonna be a bit bumpy off the bat trying to update and/or activate.
