I downloaded OS X Yosimite and now I can't update my iPhoto. I keep getting this message "This update is not available for this apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled". None of this has happened.

this update is not available for this apple id either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled
Whose Apple ID was used to download the app originally to the iPhone?

I upgraded to iOS x mavericks on my iMac now i cannot access my iPhoto i get this messageThis update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. I have not changed anything thankyou for any info.
Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, elect the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.

I updated to OS X Yosemite but iPhoto will not download, is saying because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. Now I cannot access ANY of my photos...how can I fix this????
If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto
If that does not resolve contact App store support - link is on the right of the App store window

I upgraded to yosemite iphoto does not open keep getting message"This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

Somehow my iphoto got canceled? I keep getting this message "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled. How do I fix this?
No - you can not open iPHoto - you need version 9.5.1 - I did not suggest Photo
I suggested
If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto - 9.5.1 in your case

I just upgraded to Yosemite. Iphoto is now broken. Upon upgrade receiving error "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept iPhoto into your Apple ID, do so.
2. Move it out of the Applications folder(it may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download it for free from its individual product page.
3. Click here and contact Apple.

The same message pops up for apps I have yet to download. I was able to update all my apps yesterday, but now, I can't even download new apps on my iPhone 5 and my 5th generation iPod Touch.
Thanks.Did Apple get this sorted for you? Same problem for my new purchase "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled". Only purchased 3 days ago (and have loaded Yosemite) and have definitely not sold, cancelled or received any refund (very happy with the product).

After updating to Mavericks and trying to updates for my apps I get : This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. My apple id has always been .mac but after the update I used .me. Are these not synonymous?
Hi everyone yesterday I was experiencing the same problem I am glad to share its fixed now for me
"This issue is only related to our Apple ID and to to those specific apps which we already have on phone or had installed on phone before except for those apps which we already have in purchase history AppStore>Updates>Purchase(on iPhone) History(having cloud icon next to them) it's something related to our purchase data
*ITS NOT RELATED TO PHONE OR MAC!
*RESETTING OR UPDATING THE DEVICE WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
(As in my case it was on iPhone 4 7.1.1 iPhone 5s 7.0.3 and iTunes of course )
Here is how I got it fixed
I contacted apple support via chat method and I asked about a solution giving my info.she told me that she submitted my application and in order to resolve this I should not be using my AppStore ID for any purchase for at least 30mins as doing so may not resolve the issue so I checked it after couple hours and it's fixed
(As I read in some other discussions that some people asked for solution from apple support and they told them to reset the device or so.. You may need to make your statement clear that it's appearing both on iTunes and iPhone ) -
I can't update iMovie, Garage Band, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and iPhoto. on my new Mac Air. 11". I had hoped when I updated to OS X Yosemite that would solve the problem. It didn't. I get this: This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. I went to the app store, as was suggested in someone else's post, using the only ID I've ever had, and went to the purchases tab, to "accept" the apps. That didn't work, because they weren't there to 'accept'. They did come with my purchase, however. Please advise.
It appears Best Buy is up to their old tricks of palming off returned units as new. Take it back for a complete refund of your money. If they give you any static escalate your problem to management immediately.

Hi , I am trying to install some updates for purchased apps but i got this message "This update is not available for this apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled" and this is not the case
Apple appears to be having trouble on their servers. Try again in a few hours.

After updating to Mavericks the apps store gives me the message "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled." How do I still update apps such as iphoto??
What happened was you never accepted these apps into your Mac App Store account.
Drag & drop the apps in the Trash and use OS X Recovery to install them again. after installing the apps be sure to accept them into your account this time from the Purchases pane of the Mac App Store.

Problem started today, may 8. I cant update apps, it says 'The update is not available for this apple id either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
There are a number of similar posts coming on here, did you change your Apple ID, are you the original purchaser of the app, did you recently do an update of the iOS? I just updated two apps on my iPhone which has iOS 7.1.1 without any problems at all, so a little more detail would be helpful.

macbook pro - iPhoto keep prompting to update after Yosemite update. Error message when trying to update -This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
I only have 1 apple ID and the same was used to set up this early 2011 macbook pro and iPhoto app. I don't want to loose out on any photos. I tried logging out of app store and back in but no luck. PLEEAASEE HELPP!!!
This problem has been reported by quite a few forum members, who skipped the update to iPhoto 9.5.1 while running Mavericks. In that case try to purchase iPhoto again instead of updating.
After making your backup try the following:
Uninstall iPhoto by deleting it from the applications folder, but do not empty the Trash.
Launch the App Store, click the "Store" menu, and sign in with your AppleID.
Open the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto.
If iPhoto is listed as "Free", click the "Free" button to buy it with your current AppleID.
If it is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support, as Niel pointed out: http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/

No Arch on a Crusoe processor?...Why?
I just read this: 29 Feb Newsletter wrote: 1. Q: I have an AMD K6(-2) or a Transmeta processor, can I install ArchLinux on it? A: No. ArchLinux requires an i686 processor, and neither of those conform to that. You need at least a Pentium2 or AMD K7.
