Downloading camera raw 5.4
I've downloaded camera raw 5.4 for CS4. I have a Canon Ti1. When I try to install the update, I keep getting the message to close the following application and retry to continue installing update. The application is Adobe Bridge. I don't have it open, I've shut down the computer and retry installing and I keep getting the same message. Help! what am I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help you can offer. Jan

You sure Bridge isn't running? Do you have the option to Launch Bridge on Startup in Bridge preferences active? If so Bridge will launch silently in the background as a start up item. You'll need to actually QUIT Bridge to install the the ACR update...

I've just installed CS6 creative suite mainly for photoshop CS6. It comes with camera raw 7.0.something, but need something newer to use my canon 6d. When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.
When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

I can`t raw convert my Canon 6D files in Adobe bridge and photoshop CC5. I tried to download camera raw 8.4 and it seems to be succeeded, but it didn`t.
What is the whole procedure to download camera raw 8.4?
Knut Rune JohassnonCS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. You cannot install any later version for use with CS5.

Unfortunately the 60D requires Camera Raw 7.3 or later meaning you cannot open Raw files from the 60D in CS5.
Unless you upgrade your only option is to install the free Adobe DNG converter, convert your 60D Raw files to DNG then open the DNG files in CS5.

Downloaded camera Raw 8.7 and photoshop CS5 still won't run it
I'm going to cry if CS5 keeps stuffing me around...Can't update programs for any of the CS5 suite won't explain why, just bought a nikon D750 and had to download camera raw 8.7 and photoshop still won't recognise it, so far I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still fails to update. Any solutions out there
Also I should add the updater does not work on CS5, so you must manually download and install them.

If the camera is fairly new then the version of ACR you have with CS5 won't be able to read those file. You'll need to upgrade to a newer version of Photoshop or use Lightroom 5.
Once a new version of Photoshop comes out Adobe does not support updating ACR from the older version of PS. -

I have Photoshop CS5 and a Nikon D 810 camera. I have downloaded Camera Raw 8.8 & DNG converter. I can neither open the raw files (.nef), nor process them with the DNG converter. What is going wrong? Thanks!

I have Photoshop Lightroom 5 and have downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.1 &DNG converter successfully. I have a new Sony Alpha 7 11 model ILCE-A7M2 that is supported by LR5. I am still not able to see the RAW pictures. The message says preview unavailable for this file DSC-ARW. Whatelse I should be doing to see my pictures? Can someone help?
AnitaThe support for that camera was added in the very latest release of Lightroom, version 5.7.1. Having downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.1 will have no effect on Lightroom because Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. You need to make sure you have updated Lightroom to the very latest release in order to have support for that camera.

70D support requires ACR 8.2 or newer, which requires an upgrade to PSE.

You need to download and install ACR 6.7, which will work with CS5 and with your D800. ACR 7.1 only works with Photoshop CS6.

I have tried to download Camera Raw 8.6 several times onto my Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 operating system, and can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?
Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. All of the Camera Raw technology is part of the Lightroom program. It will be necessary for you to wait for the next Lightroom update to have support for the NEF files from your camera. There is a DNG converter 8.7 RC (release candidate) that will support converting your NEF files to DNG format. Those files can be opened in Lightroom 5.6. When the next Lightroom update is released you can discontinue using the DNG converter if you so choose.
