Downloading from photo stream

How do I download photos from a friend's photo stream?

Have your friend create a shared photo stream which will then be on both of your devices.

  • Downloading from photo stream not limited to wifi

Downloading from photo stream seemed to me to be very active while I was not on a wifi connection.  Due to other people tossing a ton of photos in their shared streams I burned a ton of data and then had to turn off the phone when I realized what was going on.
Have others experienced this? Is there a way to stop it?
I loved the addition of shared streams but this is probably a feature killer for me.

    1. Yes. It's 30 days or 1k pics, whichever comes first.
    2. I'm not sure about your phone or iPad. I would check on the forum for one of those devices or here

    3. No it doesn't do video.

I want to download my istream photos to my mac

    1. Make sure you have iPhoto 9.3 or higher on your Mac.
    2. Enable Photo Stream in System Preferences > iCloud.
    3. Enable Photo Stream in iPhoto > Preferences... > Photo Stream.
3.1 Enable Automatic Import if you want photos from Photo Stream included in Photos, Events, Faces, and Places.
3.2 Enable Automatic Upload if you want new photos to be uploaded to your Photo Stream.
    4. Wait for your photos to download and/or upload.

  • HT201317 my pc is not downloading from photo stream

my pc is not downloading from photo stream

    Hi..
After inserting my credentials, the new icon of my new app appears on the screen. On this moment an error appears, in dutch "Verbinding met iTunes store mislukt" meaning, "Connection with iTunes store failed"
Be aware, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • HT4906 iPhoto only downloaded some of my photos from photo stream

I have over 200 photos on photo stream but when I set up iPhoto only 51 of them downloaded. I thought perhaps only the more recent photos may have been downloaded but it's a mix of old and new. How can I get all photos from photo stream onto iPhoto and is iPhoto the best way to store photos on a MacBook Pro?

Your photos stream on iCLoud contains the last 1000 photos or the last 30 days photos - on any device you will see local photos up to 1000 but only 1000 or the last 30 days (which ever is smaller) are available for other devices through iCloud

  • How do i get photos to download to my computer from photo stream

how do i get photos I took on my Iphone 4s to download to my computer from photo stream? I turned on photostream but they will not download to the computer. I have a wi-fi connection.

You have to update to OS X 10.7.4 or later to sync with iCloud, and thus photo stream (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html). Also, to sync with photo stream on a Mac you must have iPhoto 11 (version 9.2 or later) or Aperture version 3.2 or later in order to sync with photo stream.
Finally, only photos taken on you phone after enabling photo stream are uploaded.  Also, the are only uploaded to photo stream when you phone is connected to wifi, the camera app is closed, and you have at least 20% battery power remaining.  If all those conditions are met you photos should automatically sync to computer.

  • Download Photo from Photo Stream shared by others

How can I download the photos from Photo Stream shared by my friend to my iPhoto Library?

I could not find the photos in both "Photos" view or "Event" view.
You have to look in the "iCloud" view. It is in the "Shared" section. This section may be hidden. Hover the mouse to the right of the caption "Shared". there is a hidden Show/Hide control.

  • How to re-download old photos from Photo Stream after computer stolen?

Hi, my laptop PC was stolen with several thousand of my pictures in it. Unfortunately, I hadn't kept a backup. Fortunately, iCloud Photo Stream kept a backup of the last 1,000 pictures for me. I can see those pictures in Photo Stream in my iPhone. A got a new laptop, I installed iCloud Control Panel, and it created a Photo Stream folder. It downloads the new pictures I take today. But it doesn't download the 1,000 old pictures. How can I download those old pictures?

I found a hack. Go in the My Photo Stream Album in the iPhone. Click Edit. Select the photos. Click Share to open the menu of options. Here I tried both options: Copy and Save to Camera Roll; I don't know which option is the one that actually worked. Then I went to the Camera Roll Album in my iPhone and the iPhone started copying photos from Photo Stream to the Camera Roll Album. I had to do this back and forth between Copy/Save and PhotoStream/CameraRoll a couple of times until the copying picked up; I don't know what are the distilled steps. Then I connected my iPhone to the laptop and saved the files as usual. I had to do this tedious process in chunks of hundreds as the iPhone was unable to get the 1,000 photos at once. That's how I was able to download all my photos from Photo Stream. Also, Photo Stream doesn't seem to remember the original filenames so the images are re-numbered.

  • How can I import photos from photo stream to windows photo gallery? These photos are not on the camera roll on my iPad but are from another iPad on the same iCloud account.

I work at a Learning Center that has 12 iPads on the same iTunes and iCloud account.  Each classroom uses an iPad assigned to their room to take photos.  Each of these photos then shows up in the Photo Stream in all 11 of the other iPads.  I have no trouble importing photos that are in the Camera Roll of any individual iPad, but I have not been able to import photos from the Photo Stream if the picture was not taken on the specific iPad I am using.  It is not feasible for me to collect all 12 iPads everyday to import everyones photos, so how can I use one "master" iPad that will let me import photos from the Photo Stream since it has all the photos that everyone has taken?

You downloaded an iCloud backup to your PC?  I assume you mean you downloaded your photo stream to your PC.  What you may not know is that photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days.  After that, they are deleted from photo stream but not from any device that already has them (such as your phone).  When you enabled photo stream on your PC you only had access to photos from the last 30 days since the others are no longer there, even though they remain on your phone.
To transfer these to your computer at this point you have two options:
Save them to the camera roll on your phone (by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  (You can only import photos to your computer from the Camera Roll album.)  Then import them to your computer as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083; or
Use an app like PhotoSync, which can wirelessly transfer photos from any album between your devices/computers, including the my photo stream album.
In the future, always import your photos from your camera roll to your computer via USB before deleting them.  Don't rely on photo stream or your iCloud backup to save your photos.

  • How do I export photos from PHOTO STREAM to my PC?!?!?!

Ok, so I am a Newbie when it comes to iphones, itunes, icloud and what not. And I have a question NO ONE seems to know the answer to.
    iPhone 4s iOS 6.0.1
I want to know how to transfer my Photo Stream (NOT ALBUMS/CAMERA ROLL PICTURES!) to my PC... I delete my album photos when they get too full because I see that it doesn't delete in my Photo Stream. I downloaded the iCloud back up on my PC and I can see the Photo Stream album in my Files but ALOT of pictures are missing!!! How do I get my pictures?! How do I export my PHOTO STREAM?! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!

  • HT4890 Cannot access my photos from Photo Stream on my PC.

My iPhone does not seem to be downloading the photos from photo stream on the iPhone to my PC anymore. Old photos from phtos stream are still on my pc on photo stream but it is not getting updated with all the new photos from the photo stream. Dont know what to do or how to fix this....

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only keeps the last 30 days of photos, are your other photos older than that.

  • Aperture photos from Photo Stream not syncing in iTunes

    Hi
I am running Aperture 3.4.3 on an iMac running 10.8.2.  I have Photo Stream enabled.  When I open Aperture, it downloads all the recent photos from Photo Stream and puts them in to one or more automatically created projects called something like "Mar 2013 Photo Stream".  As I understand it, Aperture is copying the photos from Photo Stream to these new projects, so when Photo Stream eventually deletes the photos (say because I reach the 1000 photo limit), the downloaded versions in Aperture won't affected.  So far, so good.
Because the new projects in Aperture start with the month name, I have taken to renaming these folders to something like "2013 03 March Photo Stream", and you can then sort them alphabetically.  This might be red herring though.
When I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, I have selected to sync photos from all Events in the last 12 months.  This should include all the projects that were created in Aperture.  This is where I hit the problem.  Some of the projects sync just fine.  Others do not.  When they don't sync, 2 things happen:
    1. The Events don't appear on the iPhone
    2. When I look in iTunes, all the affected Events have the same item count.  The item count is correct for one project, but not the others.  So, for example, I have 4 projects at the moment that won't sync, and all show in iTunes with an item count of 1.  Only one project actually contains 1 photo, the rest have many more.
I have tried all sorts of things in Aperture, such as rebuilding the data, deleting the iPod Photo Cache etc.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

As far as I can tell, my problems have been caused by me renaming the automatic import projects in Aperture.  I did notice that Aperture kept creating new empty projects for the same month.
This solution from Jannem1970, posted on this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3585677?start=0&tstart=0, seems to have done the trick for me.
    - turn off automatic import for Photo Stream;
    - identify 'the ghost'-projectfolders, select and delete them;
    - close Aperture (this saves the current setting and condition of your library);
    - open Aperture again;
    - turn on automatic import for Photo Stream.

  • Deleting from Photo Stream now possible in iPhoto 9.2.2

Just downloading the new iPhoto 9.2.2
It claims "Photos können jetzt aus dem Photo Stream gelöscht werden". (You now can delete Photos from Photo Stream) - I hope we will be seeing this soon in Aperture, too - finally.

iPhoto? I'm not sure why you are referring to iPhoto.
Because I want to be able to edit the Photo Stream on my Mac using a decently sized screen. Most of the pictures in my Photo Stream are added when I import from my camera on one of my macs, and I use the stream to transfer them to my other macs.
But thanks for pointing out that you now can edit the stream on your mobile devices as well, very helpful, but I like to see an image at a better resolution before I delete it.
I didn't try deleting from Aperture, but I assume it would work the same. Did you try deleting your photos in Aperture first? That didn't work?
    You are an optimist
Until recently it has been impossible to edit the Photo Stream on any device; since day before yesterday you can do it in iPhoto, but still not in Aperture.
    Cheers

  • Delete pictures from photo stream in aperture

Downloaded the new Aperture that allows you to delete pictures from Photo Stream.  I deleted photos but those photos remain on my iphone.  What did I do wrong?

You might try posting in the Aperture forum - there are some very knowledgeable participants there; in case you don't get any replies here.
