Downloading movies and TV shows
How do you download free movies and TV shows to rent onto an iPod Touch? I can't find it in iTunes...
When I try to sync tv shows to my Ipod touch I'm only given options such as "most viewed" "most recent" "least 3 watched" etc. Is there a way to pick exactly which TV shows I upload when syncing. Thanks

Auto-downloading Movies and TV shows not working
I have two Mac minis running iTunes 11.3 under Mavericks 10.9.3, each is logged in to a different iTunes Store account but otherwise setup the same. They as mentioned are logged in to iTunes Store accounts, and in Preferences I have set them both to "Always check for available downloads", "Download pre-orders when available" and ticked "Automatic downloads - Music". I have not ticked the "Automatic downloads - Apps".
There is no specific option to do "Automatic downloads - Movies" or "Automatic downloads - TV Shows" however supposedly the Music option should cover these as well.
Neither Mac is automatically downloading Movies or TV Shows, based on a suggestion elsewhere I have tried having "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" enabled and not enabled, this made no difference.
I do have iTunes running all the time because it is acting as a home-sharing server for a set of Apple TV boxes.
Is the problem that this automatic downloading only happens after relaunching iTunes?
Manually downloading by clicking on the cloud icon does work. Purchases may be made either on one of the Apple TV units, or on another signed in computer. The purchases are recognised by the Mac minis as when "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" is turned on the new purchases as listed but not automatically downloaded. Using "Check for Available Downloads" in the Store menu does not cause it to download these new items either.

Why does it take so long to download movies and tv shows from itunes
I can download songs pretty quickly from itunes, but movies and tv shows take anywhere from 12-24 hours. Is there anything I can do to speed this up?
If you are downloading at work more than likely your bandwith is being throttled by your company. If your using a Mac, download a little utility called "MenuMeter" It runs in the menu bar and will display your connection speed.If your on a windows machine similar utilities are available as well. Once you find out what your speed is.it'll be much easier to trouble shoot!

Is it possible to transfer downloaded movies and tv-shows to iTunes?
I´m considering to buy the apple tv, but before making the purchase, I need to make sure that it won´t be a waste. So the question is: Is it possible to transfer my tv-shows and movies downloaded using utorrent, to iTunes, or in any other possible way to watch them on my TV via Apple TV?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
You don't transfer from the Apple TV, nor do you need to compromise your security with using third rate file sharing programs. You can redownload any content you purchase from iTunes on any device at any time. -

My hard drive recenctly crashed forcing me to reinstall OSX i had a bunch of stuff i donwnloaded from the itunes store that adds up to alot of money i am wondering if there is any possible way of getting them back? the items i downloaded are listed below. Thanks for any help!

however, you may want to contact Apple through the iTunes music store link. you can try to explain the situation to them (via a web form), and they may send you a notice allowing you to re-download your purchased content

Should I be able to see my movies and tv shows because of itunes match?
I purchased iTunes match, and at first I could see my downloaded movies and tv shows on my devices. However I cannot see them anymore. I do not know if this is a setting in iTunes match or a different setting that changed?
Any ideas?iTunes Match is for music only (and music videos purchased from the iTunes Store). Other video content is not supported.

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type. The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support

(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes). If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back. -
How do I delete Movies and TV Shows in my iTunes Store download Queue?

I have Apple TV and I purchase TV shows and Movies via iTunes Store. These programs and movies have successfully downloaded to my Apple TV and I have watched them and deleted them off the Apple TV Hard Drive.
My problem:
I do not have much free Hard Drive space on the older laptop that I currently have iTunes running on. Everytime I open iTunes on my laptop it starts downloading the very large movie and TV show files and I do not have enough hard drive space for them and I do not want them now that I have alredy watched them.
My questions:
1. Can you delete everything that is currently in my iTunes Store downlonad queue so these programs and movies will not try and download? If so, how?...
2. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening in the future?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.iTunes will not show me where the files reside (by right-clicking and selecting "show file" because the option doesn't exist for TV shows.
I don't understand, it does exist for tv shows.
Also, using the "delete" commend does nothing!
How are you using the delete command if you can't locate the file.
I have several shows taking up several gigabytes of disk space, and I can't locate them on my hard drive, or remove them from within iTunes!

Downloaded iBooks on my Macbook Pro but when I tried to sync it on my iPhone, this appeared: "Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone “My iPhone” will be removed". Love the iBooks as well as music. I really don't want to loose my music. HELP!!!
From the message you are receiving, it sounds like you either, 1) haven't synced your iPhone with that computer before, 2) are using two different iTunes accounts, or 3) both. If you have purchased music or movies through your iPhone with a certain iTunes account and purchased books through iBooks on your MacBook through a different iTunes account then there is no having both on the phone.
Apple doesn't allow content from two different accounts on a device at the same time. Also if two "libraries" have been created, one on the iPhone and one on the Macbook then syncing will erase data that is not associated with that particular library.
If you are using the same iTunes account for both, then you should be able to redownload any purchased items (music, books, etc.) from iCloud, assuming you have set that up.

Also, I bought additional storage but it shows up in iCloud and does not alleviate the need for additional storage for videos. What can I do to get additional storage to download rented movies and tv shows?
In General you need 2 to 3 times the Space of the Download File size.
If you are getting the Not Enough Space message... you will need to Delete items to create sufficent space -
I purchased an audiobook in I tunes on my computer, but cannot figure out how to download it on my phone....it always lets me download purchases of movies and tv shows but doesnt show an option for audiobooks
Oh alright -- I manage to resolve my own stupidity quite abruptly, actually.
Shortly after posting this, I annoying took another gander at iTunes Store settings. To my own idiocy, I must have unchecked "Show iTunes purchases in the cloud" at some point. In my defense, though, the availability of songs in iCloud threw me off quite a lot.

Im not able to download movies and music purchased from my iTunes on my iPad iOS 6.1. The download begings to show and once the dowload appears 100% done, I get a message "unable to download". please help
You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6

Previously purchased movies and TV shows unable to download again
I previously purchased some movies and TV shows.
When I cleaned my computer, I was unable to take them off my itunes and keep them from using my MacAir memory unless I removed them from my computer. I cannot uncheck them from my itunes library, I had to delete them from my Itunes Media folder.
This seems to have made it impossible to download them from the cloud to my computer again.
How do I fix this?

Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
(If it's not there, log out of hte store then log back in. It's kinda flaky)
All your purchases should show wtih a cloud icon next to the title.
Click the cloud icon to download or right click - Download.
If you just click Play, it wil stream and not download to your computer. -
I can't get my movies and tv shows on iPad now that I have added iCloud. The problem is that my iTunes account has different name and password from my mobile me account. Can I change my iTunes account name and password so that they will transfer to my iPad with the mobile me / iCloud account? I need to figure out how to make the two accounts one or iCloud has to be able to accept my iTunes account with years of music and movies.

I got the "wrong answer", so the next time I asked for an email authentication. I am still waiting. I don't know what the usual time for waiting normally is. I am still waiting for an email reply from three days ago. I'm not going to hold my breath. My ipad is out of warranty but I may have to beg for help from support? I'll wait awhile longer. Maybe there is another thing someone could come up with. I appreciate your fast reply Hunter.
