Can you tell me what this undocumented error means? 0x97ed80
This DPM server is a Server 2008R2 (up to date), SCDPM 2012 R2 (4.2.1273.0).
I am attempting to backup a server on an untrusted domain.
The untrusted server was working properly with DPM 2012 SP1.

Can you give me some context around that error code, I don't think it's a valid code that has a defined reason. What kind of protection is in play, where / when does the error appear. Can you copy paste the entire error message.
Is it reproducible ?

DPM Agent Installation Failed with Error code =0x80070643

Hi,
We had an Virtual Machine TFS server 2010 which had SQL server 2008 R2 installed on it.
On this Server we were running an DPM 2010 agent and it was fine.
Then I had uninstalled DPM 2010 agent and try to Install DPM 2012 R2 Agent on this Virtual Machine it gives me error 0x80070643. And for other VM the agent installation is fine.
When I checked on DPM agent logs in Windows/Temp folder it gives me below error.
I had tried with Deleting DPM Registry but still the Problem remains same.

Earlier the Protected Server had DPM 2010 Agent installed and while Troubleshooting I had already deleted the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Setup Registry
And Tried to Reinstall Agent but still it gives same error.

DPM Agent Installation issue.

A target server was running fine. All databases replica becomes inconsistent then to troubleshoot I uninstall DPM agent and trying to reinstall.
Firewall is enabled on target server , When I am trying to install from DPM console, getting error : Error 319 : Agent operation failed with communication error with DPM Agent Coordinatior service on target server.
When I tried to install at client end, its giving error : DPMAgentinstaller failed with errorcode =0x80070643,error says, fatal error during installation. Check log files in [WINDIR]Temp\MSDPM*.Log
When I checked log at temp folde, All I find Installer error 1708,1709 and 2205 2228.
Any thoughts.

Maybe try adding a rule to the firewall:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="DPM Remote Agent Push" dir=in action=allow service=any enable=yes profile=any remoteip=<IPAddress>

Could not install DPM agent on Secondry site DPM could not connect to the Service control manager : ID 33221

Hi,
We have two DPM 2012 R2 server installed at Primary and Secondary site Windows 2012 R2 installed.
We need to Protected Primary DPM from Secondary DPM.
When install DPM agent got error from secondary DPM console.
“DPM could not connect to the Service Control Manager on these servers ID: 33221”
Checked till now :
Visual C++ redistributable installed.
Checked DNS A record and both server can ping each other,
Widows Firewall off on both servers.
Net stop mpssvc ( Windows firewall service)

You mention checking the DNS A record, are these 2 servers not in the same domain? Can you ping -a computername?
Do you have any other AV software that have firewalls built in?

DPM: Agent unreachable - Can not map machine account Resolution state

We have 15 DPM servers with latest patches (3.0.8193.0). Currently we are having below error messages into two of our DPM servers. Could you help us to resolve these problems?

Resolution steps:
Verify that both protected server and the domain controller are responding. Then in Microsoft Management Console (MMC), open the Group Policy Object Editor snap-in for the local computer and verify the local DNS client settings in Local Computer Policy\Computer
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\DNS Client.
(Note: The DNS Client is disabled at both DPM and agent server)

The servers are pingable and there is no local firewall. The servers are communicating but some sync jobs are failing. The Sync set to every 45 min.

Can't install DPM agent for Windows Server 2003

Hi,
We have DPM 2012 backup server.i try to install DPM Agent on Windows server 2003 PC. but installation failed.below error are Occured.
Install protection agent on (serverName.domain name) failed:
Error 347: An error occurred when the agent operation attempted to create the DPM Agent Coordinator service on (serverName.domain name).
Error details: %1 is not a valid Win32 application
Recommended action: Verify that the Agent Coordinator service on(serverName.domain name) is responding, if it is present. Review the error details, take the appropriate action, and then retry the agent operation.

DPM Backup Error

Hi,
I am using DPM 2012 and taking backup of my Hyper V machines. For few days the backup of my Hyper V machines doesn't completed and DPM shows error;
"(ID 2019 Details: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host (0x80072746))"
What is the reason for this?

This can be caused by very slow network connectivity issue which causes the backup sender (DPMRA on the Protected Server) to timeout.
Resolution
==========
Please add following regkey on both the DPM and Protected Server, restart DPMRA service on both systems and rerun the CC or Recovery point jobs.
NOTE: Without the registry values, the default timeout is 300 (5 minutes).
Under "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent"
Add a DWORD value with name "ConnectionNoActivityTimeoutForNonCCJobs"
Set it to 7200 decimal.
Under "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent"
Add a DWORD with name "ConnectionNoActivityTimeout"
Set it to 7200 decimal.

Multi Mapping - BPM - Block 1 ( No Agent ) Error -- Help Please ?

I am trying the the BPM scenario using Integration Process
BpmPatternCollectTime
from SAP BASIS ® SAP BASIS 7.00 in
the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Patterns
I have done the scenario like the above . I have followed all the Steps which are used in above scenario.
I am using a File Sender Adapter and Receiver Adapter .
It is Successfully picked up the File but nothing is happening after that .
I am using two receiver Determination one from Ob to IP and other from IP to FIleReceiver ( IB) .
But, I am Getting error as Block1 (No agent) Error in the PE graphical diagram
I have checked in SWWL my Integration Process Return code is "0"
Can you please tell tell me how to solve this ?
Can you please tell me this scenario is like Multiple Purchase Order Items to One Purchase Order
Here they have given ID adn OverAllNumber . For ex. In one xml file I am sending
ID as A100
OverAllNumber as 120
next 5 minutes putting the another file with contents
ID as A100
OverAllNumber as 130
My Question is
Will TWO files wiil come as Output in File Receiver or one file merged as like follows ?

The steps Which i have followed in BPM are
1. Block with Deadlkine branch and Exception handler( as TimeOut Exception)
Block Start and Block End as New Transaction
2. Inside Block infinite Loop which contains Receive step ( Actives the Correlation ) and Multiline Container element which appends the Messages with CollectMessage
3. Transformation Step
It creates the New Transaction and Interface Maping from CollectMessage List to New Mesage
4. Send Step
               It sends the New Message . It creates the New Transaction .

DPM agent installation through SCCM

We have DPM 2012 installed and we want to install the DPM agent through SCCM to all client server, can you please tell me the process..
Appreciate if you can update at earliest.

I am trying to add this as a Task Sequence in SCCM 2012 but am unable to get it to work. I followed the link above, tested it out in a dos prompt and it works. But as soon as I add it to a TS, I get the 0x80070002 (i think) stating it cannot
find the file. When the deployment logs in, I do not see the mapped drive. I can see the task window stating mapping drive then Add DPM Client, but then thats where it fails.
I have the task sequence in 3 step, first to map the network drive (net use P: \\server\c$), second to add the DPM Agent using ("P:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\agents\RA\4.0.1920.0\amd64\1033\DPMAgentInstaller_KB2751230_AMD64.exe"
/q server.domain.com)(that is the location of the file), and the third to remove the mapped drive.
I should also mention that the firewall is enabled, but just before the map network drive, I have it disabled, then set to enable after the DPM client is installed.
Suggestions?

(No Agent) Error

Hi Experts,
I have done a BPM in my system. There is no error in the design and configration. A work Flow was created for My BPM . When i try to execute the BPM it is not successful . When i go and check the work flow , the first step itself has a error saying (No Agent) Error . What is a agent ?
Do i have to assign it for every work flow ?
How do i solve this issue ?

Hello Perumal,
Please check in transaction SXI_CACHE if your IP return code is 0. If not then re-import your BPM into Integration directory again.
Go to Transaction SWWL and delete the Work Item related to this BPM and then execute your interface again.
If the problem still persists you can refer to workflow diagnostic transaction SWUD.
Note: Apply OSS note on SP20. 1017845

Check the OM side.
Trigger the rule of 0168 and find out whether it can able to find the correct manager or not.
If it fails then the workflow will not work. In order to make the 0168 work. you need to assign the manager for the employee correctly.

Yes, you can by deploying DPM agent manually.
To change the directory, do the following:
For a 64-bit computer type cd /d <assigned drive letter>:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\ProtectionAgents\RA\3.0.<build number>.0\amd64 where
<assigned drive letter> is the drive letter that you assigned in the previous step and
<build number> is the latest DPM build number. For example:
cd /d X:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\ProtectionAgents\RA\3.0.7696.0\amd64
