Dr. Watson error trying to generate report

I am running Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 SP5 on Windows Server 2003 with SP1 which has been locked down using the Bastion Host server role from the Windows Server 2003 Security Guide. When I try to generate a report on the web site statistics through the Server Manager (web admin console) I get the pop-up screen which says:
Starting analysis
Attempting to run:
D:/Sun/WEBSER~1/WEBSER~1.1/extras/flexanlg/flexanlg -F -n acol-prod2.acol.ca -i D:/Sun/WEBSER~1/WEBSER~1.1/HTTPS-~2/logs/access -o c:\stat.txt -c hnrfeuok -t s5m5h10 -l c+5h5 -p ctl
This may take a bit.
But the report does not get generated and I get the following error in the Event Viewer Application Log:
Event Type:     Information
Event Source:     DrWatson
Event Category:     None
Event ID:     4097
Date:          2/20/2006

Computer:     WEB100
Description:
The application, D:\Sun\WebServer\WebServer6.1\bin\https\httpadmin\bin\lganalyz.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 02/20/2006 @ 09:17:06.313 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 77BD03BA (msvcrt!popen).
I thought this might be a permissions problem, so I tried running the Administrator Server service as the local admin account instead of Local System Account. I get the same result either way.
Any ideas on what might be causing the problem?
Thanks,
Chris

Just a little further info. I installed Windows 2003 with SP1 and the latest updates available through Windows Updates and Sun Java System Web Server SP5 on a new server. I did not do any of the security configuration lockdown as I had done on the other server. I am still getting the Dr. Watson error when trying to generate a report, but I am also getting the following error:
Event Type:     Error
Event Source:     Application Error
Event Category:     (100)

Hope this helps!

You can filter ADM templates to show configured ones only, and you can
use the "show all settings" node. This will speed the work up - a little
    bit at least :)

  • GPM Custom GPO-Settings: An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Hello,
As you can tell from the title of this question, I am no expert with GPO's.  Before I begin, I spent a few minutes to an hour searching and reading in hopes of finding the solution and avoid putting myself out there as a "GPO Newb".  While
I found several posts and answers that were similar and were related, the questions and answers were more advanced and did present the solutions providing the person had initial knowledge already.  That is not necessarily my case and I would ask for a
little patience and a bit of 'hand-holding' for what I need.
I run SBS 2011, and in Group Policy Management I have a custom GPO.  In this GPO I define all my settings.  I understand this may not be the best or most practical method of applying policies, but I am not very strict and have few settings.  This
policy existed prior to my joining the company, and was migrated in to this SBS '11 from SBS '03.  That may be the issue, but before making any changes I am seeking expert advice.
When I select that GPO, named "Main GPO", and click on the tab at the top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I saw that when I right click the GPO > View > Options and select the tab "Reporting" that it states that for reporting to work the location of the .adm files must be specified.  I see that my option for the location is set to "Default"
which by my guessing would be located in the C:\Windows\sysvol directory.  Below is what I see there:
    C:\Windows\sysvol\domain
    C:\Windows\sysvol\staging
    C:\Windows\sysvol\staging areas
    C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol
I think the problem is that my custom GPO are not inside the default location, which I speculate is: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies (which I do see some objects there).
But instead I also see items in this folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies (while where I just typed 'JOHN.LOCAL' is my actual local domain).
To further this, when I edit that custom GPO, then at the very top of the tree I right click on it and select Properties, I see a Unique Name listed there as a long string of numbers and letters, similar to a registry entry.  I searched my server for
that same Unique Name and found it listed inside the folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
If I am correct with my assumption and basic knowledge, I should move all objects as follows:
    -Move FROM: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
    -Move TO: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies
My concerns are that I am not correct at all, that I will break something, that there may be an easier fix than moving anything, or that I am overlooking something causing this error altogether.
Thank you for anyone's help and time with assisting me with this request.

    > top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating

That's due to a security setting (most possibly) your current OS does
not understand. Hard to find out wich exact setting it is... To resolve
this issue, we need the gtpptmpl.inf file residing in the policiy's
sysvol folder. To open this folder, edit the policy, move to computer
settings - policies - windows settings - scripts - startup, press "show
files". Then move two folders upwards and back down to
    .\microsoft\windows nt\secedit. There you'll see the gpttmpl.inf - post
its contents and we'll have a look at it.

That's perfectly ok - JOHN.LOCAL in fact is a symlink pointing to "domain".

Please refer to the patchnote.htm that is bundled with 10.1.0.4.0 patch set. Only you are aware of what type of database configuration you have. You will want to pay close attention to "7.2.1.3 Set the SHARED_POOL_SIZE and JAVA_POOL_SIZE Initialization Parameters" and "7.2.2 Upgrade the Release 10.1 Database".
Basically, I believe you have missed these required steps after installing the 10.1.0.4.0 patch set from the OUI:
    (pasted from the patchnote.htm)
    13.     Enter the following SQL*Plus commands:
    14.     SQL> STARTUP UPGRADE
    15.     SQL> SPOOL patch.log
    16.     SQL> @ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\catpatch.sql
    17.     SQL> SPOOL OFF
    18.
    19.     Review the patch.log file for errors and inspect the list of components that is displayed at the end of catpatch.sql script.
This list provides the version and status of each SERVER component in the database.
    20.     If necessary, rerun the catpatch.sql script after correcting any problems.
    21.     Restart the database:
    22.     SQL> SHUTDOWN
    23.     SQL> STARTUP
    24.
    25.     Run the utlrp.sql script to recompile all invalid PL/SQL packages now instead of when the packages are accessed for the first time. This step is optional but recommended.
    26.     SQL> @ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql

  • Errors in the generated reports

When I run a report for Management 3 - Updates in a deployment, SCCM will generate all the data except in a few areas.  On the main report I get #Error in Collection Name, then if I click on a particular update I get #Error for all 3 states.  If
I go further and click on one of the states, I get #Error in all the Error Descriptions.
I'm trying to get a good weekly report to send to my boss that shows what updates were pushed in a package, and what clients have and haven't installed each update, I can get a default report that shows all updates in a package and that's great, but
    I can't generate a new custom report
When I try to create a custom report I get the following error:
The requested object information could not be retrieved.  Refresh the Configuration Manager console to verify that another administrator has not moved or deleted the object, or that the role-based administration security scopes or security roles for
the object or current user have not changed

No, we never did.  We ended up calling Microsoft and they spent HOURS on remote sessions trying to get it cleared up.  They were thinking it was part of our SQL Database that was corrupt, and we ended up having them come onsite and reinstall

  • Error trying to print report to both pdf and network printer

    Hi all,
When trying to print a report to my network printer or to pdf I get the two errors attached, one right after the other.  The resulting pdf or hard copy has almost everything in it, except for three tables which are completely missing.  When I go back into the report and open the page with the missing table, the table is no longer visible in the report and I get the second error again.  Exiting and restarting diadem brings the tables back.
I've found several threads about pdf and other print errors and tried the solutions there to no avail; specifically the one posted here.
I hope there is a fix to this!  These reports are intended to sell management on diadem! Thanks!

  • "no data found" when trying to generate report

    Hi,
I have a problem when I try to generate a report. It says "no data found", but the property figures in the data collection on the host. With another property, I get the graph (Overall % CPU Utilization), but with this (Overall % CPU Idle) I get only no data found.
Ooops, worse yet. I stop the smc with es-stop -A in the server and started again with es-start -A. Now, no one of the reports works!! The one who worked, now don't!
Someone experiment the same problem? Or knows how to fix this, (I guess) "anomalous", behavior?
Please let me know, I've been with this for weeks!
    Thank you in advance!
    Regards,
    Martin Olivella

I can make a preseted report, but if I try to make
another report (with exactly the same options as the
preseted), it gives me "no data found" once more.
Any suggestions? Are you sure you're looking at the same data points? For example, there's a "Kernel Reader" module, and a "Kernel Reader (Simple)" module... and from memory the built-in reports use the "Simple" data.
Even if you're graphing a metric that exists in both modules (i.e. 5 Minute Load Average), they're still different, so make sure you choose the correct one from the picklist when you make your own Report.

  • Error trying to display reports in JRC

    Hi,
We have written some rather complex reports using Crystal Reports 2008. The reports are working well within the report editor, but when we try to run them in a JRC web application, they both fail.
We have 2 different error messages:
    Error
    Invalid Join Tree node.
    and
    Error
    Unexpected database connector error.
The datasource is a JDBC connection, and the same errors occur with MySQL and Microsoft SQLServer. We use an SQL Command in both reports, to call a stored procedure. We also use subreports. The datasource for both reports is fairly similar, so nothing to explain the different error messages.
After logging the queries in MySQL, I found out that Crystal Reports will send all the required querys, but JRC doesn't send a single SELECT query. The other difference is that JRC sends a CONNECT message multiple times, without sending a password.

We have written other reports using the same SQL Command to call the same Stored Procedure, and they work just fine. There is something special about those reports that we can't figure out.
We use the same JDBC connector for both the report editor and the JRC web application.
I have also written a quick-and-dirty Java viewer application, based on the CR Java Runtime 12.2.200, and the same problem occurs.
Same with previewing the reports in Crystal Reports For Eclipse 2.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Is there something obvious that we are missing?
    Thank you,
    JC
Edited by: Jean-Charles Boude on Mar 9, 2009 5:52 PM

Got round of the problem of multiple failed database logins now, by setting the database username and password to all subreports as well as the main report:
    reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().logon(DB_USER_NAME, DB_PASSWORD);
    IStrings subreportNames = reportClientDocument.getSubreportController().getSubreportNames();
    for (int i = 0; i < subreportNames.size(); i++) {
      ISubreportClientDocument subreportClientDoc = reportClientDocument.getSubreportController().getSubreport(subreportNames.getString(i));
      subreportClientDoc.getDatabaseController().logon(DB_USER_NAME, DB_PASSWORD);
However my main problem is still there, I get the same error message as before, and no query whatsoever is sent to the database:

                 2635 Query       SET character_set_results = NULL
                 2635 Query       SET autocommit=1

  • Dr watson error while printing Oracle reports 6.0.5.28.0

    Hi All:
I am getting this problem when I was trying to print from the perview mode of Oracle Reports(6.0.5.28.0) on Windows NT Client machine. We are using Network printer which is on Windows 2000 Server. Can you hyelp me resolve this problem.

The first thing you should do would be to get onto a supported version. We've done a lot of work in the printing area in the 6.0.8 (6i) release, particularly in the latest patch set.
If this doesn't help then you should download the drivertest utility (http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/reports/files/printerdrivertest.zip) and follow the instructions to test the driver. Then work with support to get a bug filed.
    Regards,
    Danny

  • Error in Auto Generated Reports after upgradation from 4.5B to ECC6

    Hi All,
We are currently upgraded the system from 4.5B to ECC6.
We are having many reports with report names such as
    'GP0HRYGE9KG1RM5HN4WY9MXC9E4'
'GP0IZ026BMC4SX5K8BISNZ00FSV' with few syntax errors in it.
Can any one suggest whether these are any auto generared reports , as the report starts from 'GP *'.
If so, please suggest how to regenerate the same.
    Thanks.

  • Error trying to generate a request code

I received the CS6 production suite and am trying to deploy it on a number of off-line machines. According to what I can make out of the instructions for the Provisioning Toolkit, I need to open the Provisioning Tool on the off-line machine and then type in:
    adobe_prtk --tool=Type1Exception accept --serial=
and then the serial number I received from Adobe in order to receive a request code for activation, but when I do that, I get a "command not found" message in the terminal. I have copy/pasted the command line directly from the document. I can breifly turn the off-line machine's wireless on (although I hate to do it as it destabilizes our system) but I suspect if I do that and enter the serial number that way, then that will be the only machine I can install the package on. Any help would be appreciated.

In Creative Suite 6, users needs to be online for serialization to be successful. However if there are client
machines that are not connected to the internet, the following process, called the Type1Exception process,
can be followed to serialize a package.
This process requires generation of a keycode on the offline client machine. The keycode is then used to
generate a response code from an online machine. The response code generated using the online
machine is then used to serialize the package on the offline client machine.
This process can be used for both Retail and Volume customers.
1.On the offline client machine, generate a request code for activation by running the following command:
    adobe_prtk --tool=Type1Exception --generate --serial=serialNum
where serialNum is the serial number
This command returns a 44-character request code.
2.Using an online machine. visit the AOES website:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getactivated
3.At the AOES website, log in with the Adobe ID.
4.Once authenticated, enter the Adobe serial number and the request code that was generated in step 1. Once the activation service successfully activates it, the response code is displayed.
    5.Note down the response code
6.On the offline client machine, run the following command to activate the package
    adobe_prtk --tool=Type1Exception accept --serial=serialNum --responsecode=responseCode --leid=LEID

  • Error trying to generate WSDL of webservice in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3

    Hey,
Everytime I try to generate a WSDL of a webservice I get the following stack trace:

         at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)
I'm able to run this webservice via run and debug as well as "Test this webservice." It's just when I try to generate the WSDL from within jdeveloper that I get this message. I'm even able to view the WSDL file within the browser by adding ?WSDL at the end of the url for the web service endpoint. Any ideas?

So, I need to have the @XmlSeeAlso() for this service to work since it relies on outside classes to run. But, I did remove the @XmlSeeAlso() from the class just to see if this would allow JDeveloper to generate the WSDL and when I do this I get the following stack trace:

  • Why does labview generate Dr. Watson error "C0000005 access violation"

I am running Labview 5.1.1 in Windows 2000 Professional on a machine with the following configuration
    *----> System Information <----*
    Computer Name: ANDANTE
    User Name: Administrator
    Number of Processors: 2
    Processor Type: x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 3
    Windows 2000 Version: 5.0
    Current Build: 2195
    Service Pack: 4
    Current Type: Multiprocessor Free
I have all of a sudden begun to experience labview crashes. The crash occurs systematically after tens of minutes; not just a few minutes, but not more than an hour or so. I am running a vi but not actively interacting with the machine (no other applications running, not even moving the mouse around). The problem happens even when running a vi that I have run successfully for extended periods of time (overnight) only 3 months ago. I have tried it with two different vis, one that I have recently made a lot of modifications to and another that has not been touched for months (since before the crashes began), and it happens with both vis. They do much different things (communicate with different GPIB or PCI boards, write to different kinds of files in different locations, etc.), so the problem seems to be vi-independent.
When the crash occurs, I see a dialog appear with the error
labview.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log has been created.
The Dr. Watson error log is generated and the error is
    Application exception occurred:
    App: (pid=1160)
    When: 4/25/2004 @ 01:57:56.640
    Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)
I always get the same Dr. Watson error information -- i.e., it is very reproducible. I don't really know how to interpret the rest of the Dr. Watson log, but I include the report on the first thread, which is the one with the "FAULT" in it, at the end of this email.
Looking around on the web, it may be that a temporary virus infection could have created the problem. In the period since the machines was last successfully used, I have seen two files be infected by the W32.Welchia.B.Worm virus, the files were svchost.exe and WksPatch[1].exe. These files have been quarantined and no other infected files have been found since this error began to appear.
Any ideas? I've seen on the web that reinstalling Windows 2000 and/or upgrading to Labview 7.0 might solve the problem, but it would be nice to get some confirmation before taking the time/spending the money.
