Drag and Drop bookmarks doesn't work.

The drag and drop functionality when organising bookmarks stops working after organising a couple of bookmarks (When it works at all)! Is this a Safari bug? Does anybody know how to fix this?

I found the answer to my problems. The Torbutton add-on inhibits Drag and Drop functions (especially of Bookmarks). When I disable Torbutton, Drag and Drop works again. When I enable it, Drag and Drop stops. So, obviously, I disable it whenever I want to manually sort items with Drag and Drop.
I have read that there are about 5 or 6 other add-ons that also inhibit Drag and Drop functionality, not just the Torbutton add-on. The list is somewhere in the main Firefox support section (but it's tough to find the answer there twice).

Now that I have home share my drag and drop feature doesn't work to create playlists

Now with Home Share there are two subsets of playlists. One is on the hard drive of the acutual computer where the iTunes originated. Once I am at a Home Share computer I cannot use the playlist feature. I can CREATE a playlist and name it, but the drag and drop feature does not work for songs which are not directly located on this hard drive. I can, for some reason, attach an iPod and make a list over on that, but that is all.

Because IE is running in a different user context. You cannot drag and drop anything from Explorer into a different user context. This isn't a "SharePoint" issue, as it relates to any application run as a different user.

Xul drag and drop function doesn't work Firefox 17 ESR but works in Firefox 10 ESR

I am having a problem with a xul drag and drop function designed for selenium rc and selenium IDE. It works in Firefox 10 ESR but does not work in Firefox 17 ESR.

hello, your question conatins a few issues...
*if you want to use the regular release version (firefox 18.0.2 at the moment) and not a beta version, then please download the setup file from getfirefox.com & install it on top of your current installation
*when there is a folder named "old firefox data" on your desktop, then you've done a [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset of firefox]] which had reset most of your preferences to the factory default & removed all extensions. if you want to revert that, go to ''firefox > help > troubleshooting information'' and click on ''profile folder/show folder''. a windows explorer window should open up. now close all open firefox windows and replace all the contents of your current profile folder with the data that is stored inside the "old firefox data" folder on your desktop.
*the plugin check website isn't working at the moment - so the problem you're seeing here isn't on your end. hopefully this will be fixed soon on the server-side...

Drag and drop video doesn't work

Why when I drag and drop a converted video to my Ipod in manual mode (it's not my main computer) can't I see or hear the video? It plays on the computer and the timeline on the Ipod moves but there is no picture or sound.

Try this. Start up Itunes. Click on Home Movies Videos in the movies section. If you have a movie her, right button click and select "Get Info". On the options tab, change the media kind to movie and select OK. Your other movies will slowly start to appear!

Can't drag and drop bookmarks in FF12

I just upgraded to FF 12.0, and I find that I'm unable to drag and drop bookmarks in the "Show All Bookmarks" window. I used to be able to organize my bookmarks that way, order them, put in folders, etc. I can delete bookmarks, and I can even "copy" and "paste" them to move them around, but I can't drag and drop them anymore.
When I go back to FF11, which I had archived, it works fine.

it's the torbutton extension on its own that causes the issue with firefox versions 12 upwards - i also tried it with a fresh test profile. the torbutton extension is no longer maintained by its developers - they recommend a switch to the tor browser bundle, see [https://www.torproject.org/torbutton/].

The matter isn't closed for others coming to this thread looking for an answer. Repairing permisions is much easier than a reinstall. It worked for me.

Drag and Drop Feature is not working

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro running 10.8.3 and all of a sudden the drag-and-drop feature isn't working. I was dragging photos from my job's website and adding them to a folder, but after about three photos in, it stopped working and no matter what I do it won't drop into the folder. How can I solve this?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I can no longer drag and drop bookmarks

I have used Firefox for several years and can no longer utilize my bookmarks toolbar. Yes, I know that you must drag and drop from the globe and/or lock icon (I have done this for years) but now all of a sudden it isn't working. I can not drag anything to my "Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus" 1.2" which was updated on 2/27/15. When I attempt to drag a website to add to the toolbar I get a circle with the line through it (kind of like a no smoking sign etc). Any help is greatly appreciated

AS3 drag and drop masked bitmaps - not working

I have a drag and drop project using bitmaps that were masked using fireworks. All bitmaps are PNG (fireworks files) and one object is GIF. All objects were converted into movie clips.
PROBLEM
All movie clips from PNG's can be dragged, but they can't be dropped. However, the GIF movie clip responds to both drag and drop.
ActionScript worked when all movie clips had GIF's.
Is this problem because the objects were masked or for any other reason?
Note: Objects were masked because their border is very fussy and cropping them doesn't help with the quality of their image.

Widget, Drag and Drop from palette not working.

Hi All,
I am trying to create a Widget using Eclipse and SAP Widget Tool.
I was working on a simple widget creation from a custom widget template.
The drag and drop option from palette doesn't work in my eclipse even after SAP widget tool has been installed.
Please suggest.
The configurations are.
Eclipse - 3.4.2 ganymede
Yahoo Widget Engine - 4.5.2
jdk - 1.6.0_14 (latest one).

It seems that in Firefox 13, users can no longer drag and drop content from the bookmarklet into the browser. I tried disabling all add-ons but that didn't work. I also saw a thread about the Torbutton extension inhibiting drag-and-drop, but I don't have that extension. Any ideas?

Do you mean dragging content from the pop-up iframe that the bookmarklet creates?
Does it work if you use copy and paste instead of dragging?

Drag and drop data object not working in jdev 11.1.1.7

I am trying to do quote process lab and faced this issue.
When defining the user task parameter in jdev 11.1.1.7 i am not able to drag and drop the data object in parameter list section.

Infact i am trying to create a simple BPMN projoect but it doesn't allow the data object to be drag and dropped in the parameter list.
This same thing was working fine for me in Jdev 11.1.1.6,Is there a bug in jdeve 11.1.1.7 ? Has anyone tested with the latest release?

I use the «bookmark bar» to categorize my bookmarks by themes and organize these themes with multiple nested folders. Is it possible to drag and drop new bookmarks to these nested folders not only to the first root level ?

Use Cut & Paste if you have a problem with dragging.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
