Drag and Drop - Java -- other application

Hi,
I'm writing an application, which requires to transfer the content of textfields through Drag and Drop to any other application.
Basically this works, but in combination with some applications, e.g. Mozilla, it happens, that the DragSourceListener doesn't recognize, that the Drag and Drop - operation is finished.
Because of this I get an InvalidDnDOperationException, when I try to start a new Drag and Drop - operation.
Can anyone tell me, how to solve the problem?

Can't drag and drop files onto Applications in Dock since upgrading to 10.6

Ever since my wife upgraded her iMac (2 GHz, 2 gigs) to 10.6, she can no longer drag and drop files onto certain applications in her dock to open the file. She has to go into the application and go to "open file" or whatever.
For example, if she has a Word doc on her desktop, she cannot drag it onto the Word icon in her dock.
Any advice?

You have many issues with your and your wife's machine(s). Everything you've posted works here. Reinstall Snow Leopard, repair permissions, and see if that fixes things.

Drag and drop in windowed application

i have created application using drag and drop funcatinalities .it's working in webbrowser as internet application .but i converted int o a windowed application and dra and drop isn't working in that form as desktop app.

Maybe I should mention that this drag and drop feature doesn't work on ALL the programs, which leads me to believe that this is a system preferences problem. I can't drag into any of the Adobe programs, iPhoto, Kodak Easyshare, etc.
I understand the Get Info solution, but that is pinpointing only one type of file... I would like to fix this feature for all files.

Drag And Drop Java Portlets

Hi,
How can we develop Drag and Drop (DnD) Portlets. Does Oracle Portlet provide such functionality.Can someone guide me or have any documentation on how to create Java Portlets that can be dragged arround i.e. just like on google site http://www.google.com/ig. I am using 10.1.0.4. Thanks

Is there any kind of documentation available as how to build this kind of functionality. What API's to use. Lifefray and StringBeans Portal provides DnD functionality so curious if it's also doable using Oracle Portal and if so how to start on it. I am more interesetd in docs. and API's to use for building our own.

Drag and Drop between Flex application

To my knowledge you can't drag and drop anything between 2
windows in a browser using any technique in the way that you mean.
In other words, I don't think you can even do this in javascript
between 2 windows.
You can use LocalConnection to simulate this though, by
having the drag manager notify the other application when it leaves
the stage, so that when you reach the other application it will
start the drag effect again in that window.

Drag and drop to other desktops doesn't work in Mavericks

I'm currently experiencing an issue with dragging and dropping files within Mavericks. It seems to work only within one desktop: from one window to another. However, when I want to drag something to another screen/desktop the dragged items become stuck on the other screen. I can only move them again when I go back to the original window I dragged them from.
It is not practical to drag and drop anything on the same desktop on my (little) 13" MacBook Pro. By the way, this happened after updating to Mavericks.\
Can anyone help me?

the splice() method accepts two arguments. the first is the (start) index of the element(s) you want to remove and the 2nd argument is the number of elements you want to remove. in your situation, you should be using:
bubbles.splice(currentIndexArray,1);

Drag and drop from other mac didnt work

i tried dragging my garage band app from another household leopard mac because when i upgraded my macbook to leopard, it didnt come with garage band
anyway, i dragged and dropped the app over and at first i couldnt get the loops to work, but i found a solution to that on a website
now, there are 0 "software instruments" where are they and how do i get them back?

Bug? Anyone else experience placing an image into a layout via drag-and-drop and having existing imagery on the artboard get pushed around? Man CS6 really sucks.

Thanks. D&D isn't much faster than right-clicking, copy and paste in Illy. Does that shift things? Just curious as a means of isloating. Could try placing as well just to eleminating any art hitting Illy having the effect you are describing.
Is snap to pixel grid on? Not that it should affect the other items in Illy.
Also, have you tried updating Illy?

Adobe Flex 4 Drag and drop example in application

I have been looking at the following example:

The example works in web based flash project, but if I use the same code in a desktop AIR project image does not move to the mouse position. (this is obvilously after I have changed the Application container to a WindowedApplication container)
It seems to be due to the fact that the parent container stops receiving mouse move events while dragging. The image then moves to a position relative the where the mouse clicked inside the image.
I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what I am doing wrong?

I've managed to solve the issue using event.localX instead.

Drag and drop from external Application

I drag some text from outside indesign, on a page so the text is imported. What I want is to get the text in the function ProcessDragDropCommand. But the problem is how can I get the text. That is an issue that you should take up with Adobe. Aside from the piracy issues involved with copying a legal installation to a possible illegal installation, I believe that Adobe uses serial codes unique to each of their apps that you need in order to activate a legal installation of their software. Their apps are very complicated as well and usually need to be installed by their proprietary installer app from their installation DVD to make sure that you have all of the pieces in their correct location.

Drag and drop from applications onto desktop iOS Mavericks

I upgraded to iOS mavericks thia morning and hve noticed that i can't drag and drop files from applications to the desktop anymore, a feature that made past iOS systems so great. Examples of this is trying to drag an image from a site (in a browser) to the desktop and dragging attachements out of email to the desktop. Is anyone else having this issue with iOS mavericks?

Did anybody get an answer on this?
I am having difficulties with moving files from the email to the finder..drag and drop does not work.

Drag and drop from Thunar gvfs-mtp (android) to application fails

So I installed gvfs-mtp, connected my phone with usb cable and I can work with the files on the phone in Thunar fine - well, almost fine. I can browse the files, doubleclick opens them without any problem. I can copy the files back and forth.
What is not working well is drag and drop files into applications. E.g. drag-drop of media file to mpv crashes mpv, drag-drop to vlc does nothing. Drag-drop of a photo to GIMP shows "Could not open" error:
Opening 'mtp://[usb:003,006]/Internal storage/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20150513_184133.jpg' failed:
Could not open 'mtp://[usb:003,006]/Internal%20storage/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20150513_184133.jpg' for reading: No such file or directory
Drag-drop of text file to mousepad fails too (the filename is shown in the titlebar, but mousepad is empty). Again, doubleclicking the .txt file opens it up alright.
Perhaps it is the "mtp://" in file's 'URL' that is causing problems? Is there a way how to circumvent this?
If I just mount the device by clicking on "Android" in Thunar, and then go to
/var/run/user/1000/gvfs/mtp:host=%5Busb%3A003%2C006%5D/Internal storage/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20150513_184133.jpg
everything works fine.
What is the reason for "mtp://" stuff anyway? Why not just work with the filesystem, which is obviously properly mounted?

MTP stands for media transfer protocol. It's used by some devices, including Android ones. I don't know much about it but according to this thread on the Ubuntu forums discussing a similar issue, mtp is generally rather temperamental. Link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230932

Drag and Drop for Creative Cloud CS applications

I just joined Creative Cloud for CS software applicatons; I am already a Muse user - will I need to cancel that use and download Muse again to avoid double payment? Also, I am not able to drag and drop the CS applications at this time - is it not yet available? If not, when will it? Even the Muse app would not drag and drop for download?

Are you trying to install the applications my dragging the application icon from the Creative Cloud Apps page at https://creative.adobe.com/apps to your computer? If so that will not work since that is just an image in the web page.
To install click on the Download (or Try for trial members) link and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) should download and install. AAM will then handle the installation of the applications.

Drag and drop to desktop icon on Windows

My Java application is bundled in a JAR (with a MAIN). On Windows (XP, Server 03+ and Windows 7) I would like to have it so the user can drag and drop files and/or folders onto the JAR's icon on the desktop and have it launch its MAIN passing in a list of java.io.File objects representing the dropped item(s).
Is this possible? Do I need to turn my JAR into an EXE and if so can someone recommend an EXE generator tool that supports this drag-n-drop functionality?

I've not ever seen another application that would do that without having the application already running, once it is running then you should be able to do a drag and drop.
