Drag n Drop Explaination In Confused Mode Detected

Forgive me if I'm wrong.
But I'm currently still trying to understand about the concept of drag n drop dealing with Swing component.
For the aim objective which I concerned is just to get understand how
to make one and more Swing component to be draggable and could be dropped into another location within
a single JFrame. Well, that's the 1st aim.
And yet, these lines make me confused.

I tried out as your source code from the previous reply,,,
Instead of getting it clearly, I got another Confusion... (pardon me)
Let me clarify this with the examples given,
I try to adopt previous source code
and it was this detail;
1) Taking the X and Y coordinate (from the mouseEvent) Plus jLabel1 coordinate (both X and Y).
2) Positioning a Coordinate taken to JLabel1
3) Passing the Coordinate taken to jLabelX, and jLabelY.
The problem found was;
if we make 3rd become comments, now the jLabel1
could works!
I mean, jLabel1 could be dragged to another Coordinate (by dragging it to another location)
But,
if we un-comments the 3rd source code,
The effect would be no movement of the jLabel1.
BinaryDigit, is this related to the layout you mentioned before?

I thought also the same thing,
but setLocation() give me another Confusion....
the coordinate seems taking its basement as a reference.
I mean, the jLabel Coordinate's is referenced
from the panel where the jLabel is attached to,
rather than the Coordinate's of the base jFrame (main base -what should I call this?)
Sorry, the Details number three (3) is my preference, Since I wanted to see the X, Y movements also.

What is the policy for drag-and-drop in training mode?

Hi,
I've captured an application in training mode. It contains one drag-and-drop action which obviously is done in full motion recording.
Only thing is, this doesnt work when you then do the simulation as a user.
Can drag-and-drop working in this mode? It seems not.
Can anyone advise?

I'm guessing that you mean to ask if one is able to force a user to perform a drag-and-drop as part of a simulation?
Unless you program it in Flash or some other application it isn't avaiable. Check the link below for more.

Drag and Drop no longer working in Windows 8

Running ID6 on new computer running Windows 8. I'm running as Administrator mode, but I can no longer drag images into designs. I was able to in Windows 7.

Update on the problem.
The problem was that you cannot drag and drop when in Administrator mode. Indesign was crashing if I did not open in administrator mode. The reason why Indesign was crashing has something to do with licensing of the computer and software... This is a new computer and the c drive is a solid state chip. To conserve c drive space, we setup c:temp to be on a separate drive. That's why Indesign would not open normally. You must have your c:temp on your user account to be directed to c:temp.

Treeview control will not drag and drop when project is built.

I have a treeview control that I can perform drag and drop while in edit mode but once I build the executable I can't drag and drop any longer. Are there some settings that I have to change?
I am not using an Active X Control but instead the TreeView control within LabView 8.
A response would be greatly appreciated.

Drag-and-drop no longer working in iTunes 7.7

Recently I've not been able to drag movies onto my iPod touch, neither from the Finder or from within iTunes. They'll drag into playlists, but the green Plus symbol disappears when I move it over my touch. The only way to get movies onto the touch is to 'sync' them, which is VERY inconvenient and tedious if you have lots of files. Is this a change in iTunes 7.7, and if so why??? If not, is there anything I can do to restore drag and drop?

How do I stop a copy of backup files? Time Machine filled my extern HD, I bought a 2TB, drag and drop the old backup files and now my iMac has been stuck in "preparing copy" mode all night.

My 235 MB external HD was full, I bought a new 2TB and dragged and dropped the old backup files to it. Now my iMac is frozen in "preparing copy" mode. How can I 'unfreeze' it? How should I move the backup files from one external HD to the other?

This has been answered here so may times (especially by pondini, e.g. in this thread Time Machine stuck in repeating "preparing files" cycle), so please search this forum the next time before asking such a question.

Can't drag and drop files into Attachments while in Administrator mode

I can drag and drop files into attachment easily when I'm not in Administrator mode. But I need to be in Administrator mode at work and therefore for some reason I cannot drag and drop files into attachments; I'm forced to manually search and select particular files for attaching, which significantly slows my day-to-day work.
Is it a bug?
I have the up-to-date version of Thunderbird and I use MS Windows 7 Ultimate.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". Drag and Drop - detecting drop away from a component

Flex 4, AIR 2.0 app
I have a drag and drop detecting a Button drag away from a Group1 into Group2.
When the user drops into a Group2, the Button is added to it, which obviously removes it from Group1.
I would like it that if the user drags away from Group2 and drops it randomly on the screen, the Button will be added back into Group1.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might go about detecting the end of a drag when not over a component, so I can add the button back into Group1 again?

I'll have a look at gthis as it looks a bit more efficient than the solution I have come up with.
The only thing I'm not sure about is at what point my Button gets put back into Group1. In my current movie, I have a function which handles the dragDrop event. But if I drop outside a component, I don't have an event from which I call the handleDrop(dragEvent) function.
I'll have a look.
In the meantime, what I'm doing is Making my drag item a custom component, passing a reference to it's default container (Group1) and its Default X and Y co-ordinates.
Then, I have a dragComplete handler which is called whenever the drag item is released - I then check the action property of the event and if it is "none" I know it has been dropped outside a recognised target and I can add it back into its default group and set its default x and y coordinates. This seems to work quite nicely at the moment.

C3PO - Scanning a Folder & Detecting user's "drag-and-drop" operations

We are using Novell C3PO to export messages in XML format when the user
press a button at the GroupWise Client message window, and this was done to
provide an integration with a ERP software (from a very famous company here
in Brazil), so the user reads his emails and can click this button and open
the ERP ORDER SCREEN with all costumer's data filled in, that increases the
productivity of the Sales Departament.
REsuming, the main porpouse is to collect information of each email to open
the Order Screen of the ERP system, without having to type everything again.
The costumer wanted to go on and get several messages at the same time, that
was stored on a GroupWise Folder, using a simple redirection rule and this
was done using Visual Basic (called here "looking process"), that looks for
messages into a specific folder in the GroupWise Client called "_Send". So,
convert that messages to XML and then move to another folder called
"_History".
Now we can drag many messages at the same time to the folder _Send and then
they will be converted. It is working very well. The problem is that the
GroupWise Client computers are becoming slower because of the "looking
process" (that VB application). We used VB because we could not find a
process or a feature in C3PO that selects several messages at the same time
and read them one-by-one.
QUESTIONS :
1- Can I have this "Looking Process" using C3PO tools ?
2- Is there a way to detect a "Drag-and-Drop" event in the GroupWise Client
with C3PO, so I would not need to scan those folders ?

I've been doing something similar, but rather than creating a new
message, I've been using custom properties
on each mail, so as they arrive I add two tags, one with a tagID, and
the other with metadata. I then write
searches for each folder returning only the message that are yet to be
tagged. Nice and efficient, written
in C#. I've run over my big mailbox (2GB) and the box hardly raises a sweat.

Drag'n'Drop on Web Parts In Edit Mode Not Working When X-US-Compatible Is IE=11

Hello,
when the compatibility settings are above IE=10 the web parts cannot be moved between/within the web part zones.
Steps I have done to reproduce this on clean environment:
Created a new sharepoint publishing portal
Tested on the default page that web parts can be moved in IE 11
Downloaded the master page seattle from gallery
Replaced the following line:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10"/>
with:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=11"/>
Uploaded the master page to the gallery.
Published major version.
Entered edit mode on the default page.
The web parts cannot be drag'n'dropped.
Do you have any idea about a fix for this?

Every application can't come automatically configured to work with every other application, even if they're both from MS. Tweaks here and there are going to be required. If you go in and make a settings change and then everything works fine, I would call
that "fully supported."
Also, you WANT a solution that doesn't require IE changes, fine. But did you at least try and see if these changes affect anything? We need to at least do our due diligence in troubleshooting and root causing before we can ask for particular solutions my
friend.

In administrator mode drag n drop does not work

when i run my photoshop cs5 in administrator mode using "run as Administrator ... ", drag and drop does not work.

This is related to my current project in visual basic 2010 express edition and Windows 7 (32bit).
1. My application always run in administrator mode.
2. In this application i used createobject("Photoshop.Application") method to reference and run scripts directly from program.
3. When i run Photoshop in normal mode, error is thrown as can't create ActiveX connection.
4.Why ?

If an iPod is in "use as hard disk" mode, could I drag and drop songs to it

After countless attempts to sync my iTunes into this iPod I just obtained, with iTunes, Finder, sometimes both programs hanging and freezing up, since I pick "use iPod as hard disk" as an option, couldn't I just drag and drop my iTunes tracks into the iPod via just a pair of Finder windows? I mean if it can work like a USB drive, I think it wouldn't be impossible to do the same with my songs, since they are just files as well, since I am having such a horrible ordeal syncing this iPod. I am on the verge of my 6th Restore in almost as many days and at best I could load songs into it one by one, but sometimes it would even balk for the most curious reasons such as:
song running over 5 1/2 minutes in length
song consisting of mp3 I d/l-ed elsewhere independent of iTunes Store
song purchased from iTunes a very long time ago
the 4th or 6th song in a row being synced, no matter the type
I have little idea why this iMac is giving me so much guff, as my sister has the same model that works without complaint for her.

Curses, foiled again! Maybe you additionally have an idea why my 4th gen 20 GB iPod seems to make Finder, iTunes, and occasionally Disk Utility hang and stop responding when all I am trying to do is attempt to make the iPod work as designed ie: accept my iTunes songs, keep them and have them available for playback. It is fully charged, yet most of the time it chokes when I am trying to Restore it, so every time I do manage to restore it, it takes about 4 or 5 incremental attempts of completing Restore until I get it going again. Then I am only able to get it running by manually loading the songs one track at a time until I get up to about 30 or so and it unravels upon my attempts to put all of them on, even adding them manually one song at a time.

I tried rebooting but there seems to be no way to move images from the grid under folders to catalogs. Can't drag and drop in LR 5.3.

You can't drag images from the Folders in grid to a CATALOG.
If what you mean is dragging from Folders to Collections than you have to drag from the IMAGE, not the CELL. You can not drag to Smart Collections, only Regular Collections.

Drag and Drop in Training Simulation

Hi everyone. Newbie here.
I am creating a software training module. One of my exercises
requires my users to re-order some columns by dragging and
dropping. If I record in training simulation, is there a way to
capture drag and drop? Or do I just need to create a click zone on
the column header and then jump to the next slide where the column
is in its correct location?

Capture of a drag and drop action should be automatic if all
defaults are left. There is a feature called "full-motion"
recording that is automatically invoked whenever a
left-click-and-hold action is detected by Captivate - during the
Recording function.
Note the "full-motion" I am referring to is NOT the same as
using the "Full Motion" recording
mode. If there is confusion about this, let us know and
someone hereabouts will give you a detailed explanation.
