Drag-n-Drop not working (Finder and within apps)

while using machine, after about 15 minutes or so, Drag-n-Drop stops working....in Finder and within all apps. Cant' move files within Finder; can't highlight text and move it within an app, can't D-n-D photos; nothing
it takes either a system restart, or logout of user, then log back in as user and D-n-D is restored.
But, it works for about 15 minutes or so, again...then stops functioning.
Happens repeatedly, doesn't matter what apps I'm using, or even using any apps at all...just power up machine....move a few files...let it sit for a while and do nothing, and then D-n-D stops working again.
This is very annoying...and makes Leopard almost useless, since I can't manipulate anything with the mouse.

Drag and drop not working 2012 and Win 7

This used to work, but somewhere along the way I lost the ability to drag and drop file paths and LV snippets onto a LV block diagram. Has anyone else seen this? I don't think it's a windows issue. And it works in LV2011.

And my question refers to the right click >> Run as administrator option. It was not the question if your login has administrative rights.... sorry for the confusion.

Do you mean that when you move files on the Desktop, they don't stay where you put them ?.
If so - use Finder - View menu - Show View options & choose 'Arrange by' : none
If not - please describe exactly what the problem is.

I am trying to use drag and drop on my system but it is not working. other's within my department have no issues, but they are using IE10. I also have SharePoint Designer 2013 installed.
Any suggestions?

Derek,IE11 is having some compatibility issues with the share point.Apart from IE11,it should work on IE10,9 and Firefox and chrome as well.
Please check the links below that explains the issues with IE11 and the functionality of Drag and drop and limitations as-well.
1.Since SharePoint 2013 fully support IE 32-bit version above 7, there might be compatibility issue with other browsers. I’d recommend you use IE 8,9,10 32-bit for optimal Performance.
2. Open the same document library in Internet Explorer as this functions does not work with Firefox or Chrome by default
3. Make sure the IE (Internet Explorer) Version should be 32-bit and not a 64-bit

Drag and Drop not working with windows 8.1

we using windows 8.1 for a few days now
so we installed visual basic .net 2012 and starting our projects again we used in windows 7
but now it seems that the drag and drop doesn't work in windows 8.1
we only gets a forbidden icon when we drag it over the control
please can someone tell us why windows 8.1 won't work with drag and drop
we hope this can be fix in anyway because we don't like when our users use our programs
and tell us that this point wont work in windows 8.1

Hi,
Welcome posting in TechNet forum.
Do you mean the drag and drop action of files within different application?
We may take a try to disable the UAC settings and see if the drag and drop would work. And please note if we have UAC disabled, Windows Store APPs would be expected not going to work.
For the coding edit stuff, I suggest we keep focus on the MSDN thread.

Drag and Drop not working since last software update - this is occuring on Outlook for the mac and I just tried moving an icon on the doc and the same thing occured. YOu can drag but the items will not drop.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Drag and drop not working again in Thunderbird

Several weeks back Thunderbird broke (drag-n-drop stopped working) due to some gtk2 related issues.
The problem was very quickly resolved by a patch to gtk2. Today I noticed that the problem has reappeared.
I'm not sure what is the source of the problem, though, because I have been running updates for the past few days but it is definitely back.
I have two systems and both have the same problem as of yesterday... or at least I noticed it yesterday.
Can any one else confirm the problem?

Easy my friend! I do not "insist" on anything.
Matter of fact I did not even know that there was a problem with the "official" version of FF.
I started using the release of FF/THB back in my days of Slackware and got used to download the software and add it to my distro... and so I did with Arch.
In the past it has never been an issue, so I figured it may be something else (like libraries or the like) because the problem got solved after an update of gtk2 a few weeks back.
Please, do not feel defensive about comments placed in these forums. I understand (I'm a software developer too), it gets to you when all the comments you get seem "negative" or "sound like criticism" but I do have a great deal of respect for the contributions and efforts of all developers. My post was not intended to offend but rather to search for an answer/idea as to how I could approach the problem.

Thanks for the return, well, just trying to relocate a web screen or move a saved application from the desktop into a folder. I use Final Cut Pro Ten extensively and sometimes I want to drag something off my desktop into the time line on the FCPX. When I left click and hold on the item to drag it doesn't seem to engage then when it does move it quits along the way to the drop point. I hope that makes since too you? I use a Logitech two button with a scroll wheel wired mouse and have twin 32" monitors. Thanks Latranner

I've sort-of got it working under FF3 + TP4, with the drop part of the drag requiring me to offset the mouse drop location. I can't drop directly onto the drop locations, I need to move my mouse slightly to top left of the drop location, then I can drop it.
Under FF3 + Drop6 (internal Oracle JDev 11g build), this simply doesn't work, a JavaScript error is thrown. As such I'd say the ADF Faces component demo is now out of date for the latest build.
With the StoreFront demo under FF3, + TP4 where you can drag n drop into the shopping cart, I can also get this to work, but in this case the offset is along way off. Seems to work in IE7 perfectly, though I rarely use IE7, mostly FF, and my FF is highly configured to my own preferences. For example I have a minimum font size set in FF, but don't bother with this for IE.
I can't get the current StoreFront to run under Drop6.
When I can get drag n drop to work with TP4 + FF3 with the ADF Faces component demo, the problem seems to be with font sizes on the web page, because if you enlarge/shrink font sizes with the browser, the offset becomes smaller/not an issue.
All the above are just my experiences, not necessarily yours, just thought I'd share.
Given the changing behaviour between TP4 + Drop6, I suspect we should wait for the production release to see what the final result is.

The scaffolding teamplate which you use to create scaffolding page is actually a design prototype which helps you to create similar types of pages instances very quickly without authoring each page separately (for example news, aticle types of pages) and that is the concept of scaffolding only.
For example - When you go to location http://localhost:4502/miscadmin#/etc/scaffolding/geometrixx you will see a "News" page which is an example of scaffolding (this is a similar page which you can create using scaffolding template).
Now if you open this page you will be accessing http://localhost:4502/cf#/etc/scaffolding/geometrixx/news.html and here you will see already design page.
     1. if you access page properties from side kick you will see how this page is configured using target template and target path
     2. if you go to design mode using side kick you will see how the component has been design (which is similar to what appears on page when you came first time)
     3. Now come back to normal view of that page (http://localhost:4502/cf#/etc/scaffolding/geometrixx/news.html) and author this page with some dummy property and click on "create" button. I know here you can not author the image as it comes as disabled empty box.
     4. once you author the content and click on create button it will create an instance of scaffolding page on the same page you can see the link on the top of same page.
     5. Now access that page, when you access that page the page will take reference of target template you configured using pare preoperties to display the page.
     6. On this page you will see the same component you configured and when you will edit it you can author the image from there directly.
Now question is why to configure same component two times half data from scaffolding and half data from page but answer is the design is correct because the page design which you have created (for example http://localhost:4502/cf#/etc/scaffolding/geometrixx/news.html) is just proto type to create actual page instances and prototype can not holds values for page instance (specially image until it doesnt configured correctly for page instance in this case) which exist only when you create pages using the scaffolding page prototype. Otherwise you have to do more customization by extending scaffolding "/libs/wcm/scaffolding" changing the code and design OR you have to design it according to your target page strtucture which you have configured in page properties (specially image node).
If you want to create your own page prototype using scaffolding template and want image to associate just copy paste "/etc/scaffolding/geometrixx/news/jcr:content/dialog/items/items/tab2" node to your newly created scaffolding page prototype.

I have installed the agent 10 or 15 times and one installation has failed, no error appeared during the installation but I am having inconsistent issues with my ethernet card not working here and there. We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.
I did notice that stuninstdrv.exe is running in task manager. Any help would be great...

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)
