Dreamweaver CC & CC 2014 closes on startup

I installed Dreamweaver CC 2014 and it closes on startup. Dreamweaver CC stopped working also. (all other CC 2014 apps are working)
I created a new user account and tested. Both Dreamweaver versions works there...
I have:
tried with java 1.6 and 1.8
uninstalled (with cleaner) and re-installed removing settings
removed all files in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
removed all adobe file in ~/Library/Preferences/
run Disk Utility and repaired permissions and disk
logged in without all startup items
checked for bad fonts with Font Book
Still everything works on my new test account, but not on my nomal account
I can't find any logs...

I'm sorry to hear that this happened and that your circumstances are different than mine.  My issue happened during one of the new Mac OS installs.  I used to either archive and install or do clean installs whenever I updated OSX because it has been unreliable at times to update and re-configure permission with each new release.  However with the new app store approach these options are no longer available.
Moving files between user accounts is not an overly difficult task, although it can be time consuming, a couple hours max.  Regardless, it is probably better to do this now then to wait for more problems to occur because corrupt user profiles do happen at times on Mac (and occasionally Windows too) and has been known to affect more software than just Adobe.  Below are some steps involved to help get you started:
First, programs do not need to be migrated in the default setup. Unless you are on a system controlled by an administrator whereby each user installs their own, I don't think this should be an issue.
Next, just create a new account (with admin privileges if your current account is an admin).
Then go to the finder and copy the files from your old user account to the new one.  This is located at Macintosh HD :: Users :: {username}
Then go to the preferences folder in the user library.  For this log in as your current account, then use the Go to Folder command ( Shift + Cmd + G ).  For the most part only the Application Support folder needs to be brought over.  There are a few exceptions like Firefox/Mozilla profiles are in their own folder in the Library.  Outside of that you should be good to go.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 Closes on Startup

So my problem is quite simple, I do motion design, and to import logos into Cinema 4D i need to make them into paths within Illustrator, but whenever i open up Illustrator, it closes straight away without any crash reports, nothing, just closes without anything popping up for no reason, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times but with no difference in the way it runs(still does exactly the same thing - closes down). Im running windows 8.1 64-bit and Illustrator worked fine when i used Cs6 but not CC 2014.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Alex,
You can follow the article: Illustrator CC or InDesign CC crashes at launch and Illustrator CC crashes at launch which will help you to get the crash issues fixed with Adobe Illustrator CC.

  • Trial After Effects CC 2014 closes after startup

I've just installed trial version of After Effects CC 2014 (13.0.2). But there is no way to actually TRY IT, because it closes right after it starts, and all I see is this:
Button "Continue Trial" doesn't do anything but closing it's own window.
Is there a way to run AE?
    PS: Windows 7 x64

Without exact system info and possibly crash logs nobody can say anything. Could be the licensing system acting up, could be a hard program crash due to insufficient resources and your system not meeting the requirements.

  • ITunes Encountered a problem and needs to close on startup

    Hi -
I'm running the latest version of iTunes (7.1.1.5) on a desktop computer with Windows XP (SP2) and I've had no problems with it up until today. After using iTunes fine yesterday, I tried to open it up today and I get a Windows error message saying "iTunes has encountered an problem and needs to close" on startup before the iTunes window even pops up at all. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes as well as replacing the library files with those from another computer (sometimes the ones on this computer get corrupted). But neither of those have changed anything, I still get the same message every time, no matter what I try or how many times I restart. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and I can provide any additional information that might be helpful.
      Windows XP Pro

I did get a "server busy" message when I loaded quicktime, but I'm not sure if it is related or not since I've been seeing that over the last couple of days, I can't remember if it came before iTunes stopped working or not. That message reads "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'switch to' to activate the busy program and correct the problem." My options then are to choose switch to or retry. When I press "switch to" my Start menu opens, and nothing appears to happen when I select retry.
that's an odd sort of a message (or series of messages).
hmmmmm. let's try an experiment aimed at working out if there's a program interfering with the QuickTime (which is in turn causing grief with your iTunes).
try a selective startup using MSCONFIG, with just the itunes and QuickTime background processes enabled, as per the following document:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
does QT open without the strange message after the selective startup?
    does iTunes launch properly?

  • CS6 Dreamweaver and InDesign quit immediately on startup.

I have installed CS6 Design and Web Premium on a MacBookPro OS10.9.4 that also has CS5 Design and Web Premium installed.  Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Fireworks and Flash all open without problem. BUT CS6 Dreamweaver and InDesign quit immediately on startup. CS5 programs all still open without problem.

Yes! I beleive this is a bug in the Installer where it leaves ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 8.0 marked read-only, and then InDesign crashes early in the startup process (in the "AdobeBIB" component) when it tries to write its preferences and it fails to do so.
This is a longstanding bug and nobody understands why the installer messes it up.
So the answer is to either trash the above folder, or to hit Cmd-I (File Info) on it in the Finder and make sure it is set to read-write under Sharing and Permissions.
I just got done complaining a lot about this to Adobe, actually, last night. Bugs 3478250, 3478260, 3478263, 3478267, and 3424687.
(Of course, I might be wrong and it could be somethign totally different).
If the above doesn't work, try a new user account on your machine.
Oh, and also, you'll need to hit Cmd-Shift-G in the Finder and type in ~/Library to get to the hidden library folder (though there are other ways).

  • Dreamweaver Closes At Startup

    Hello,
I just re-formatted my system with XP. I installed
Dreamweaver and whenever I try to start it up, it closes right when
the main window opens (just after splash screen). This is very
annoying. If it helps, the 1st time I ran it, I asked if I wanted
    the Coder or Designer layout...
    Thanks,
    Mikael

It does ask you that .. so you've had it open once anyway. Do
    you have a
firewall running that might be blocking it? Windows Firewall,
    for example?
    What about an antivirus program?

*PS: I went on to "Debug the program" with Visual Studio 2013, and it said:
Unhandled exception at 0x77023873 (ntdll.dll) in Dreamweaver.exe: 0xC0000374: A heap has been corrupted (parameters: 0x7703CDD8).
And somehow sometimes it does work after stopping the debugging process, however only sometimes.

    Hi low5545,
Can yo please share the crash logs.
For that, you need to add these entries in registry.
Go to run, type regedit and enter. This will open Registry Editor.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting->Right Click->New->Key. New key named "New Key #1" will be created. Rename it to LocalDumps.  Add two entries in LocalDump.
Right click on LocalDumps->New->Expandable String Value (REZ_EXPAND_SZ). Double click on the  entry created and add value name : DumpFolder and value data : %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps.
Right click on LocalDumps->New->DWORD (32 bit) Value(REG_DWORD). Double click on the value created and add value name : DumpType and value data :1
Next time when the application crashes you will find the crash dump at C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps. Dumps will be created only in case of crash and not hang. You van send the logs to [email protected]
    Thanks!

  • Photoshop CC 2014 closes when start up for a few seconds

    Hi,
When I try to open the Photoshop CC 2014. It will close after it has started up for a few seconds without any error message dialog in the Photoshop or error log in Event Viewer.
I have just subscribed for the package Photoshop & Light Room combo yesterday and tried to install the Photoshop CC 2014.
I have already tried to figure it out for at least 10 hrs in 2 days by searching all the solutions to this kind of problems and tried every means I could do, but nothing really works.
What I have already tried are as follows:
    1. Un-install the ps cc 2014 with clear preference option and re-install it again with Creative Cloud application, but no luck.
    2. Update Nvidia graphic driver, which it has already been up-to-date, no luck. I even update the windows using window update center, but still get the same problem.
    3. Use Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool after un-install the program. The cleaner tool works fine with successful message and no error message in the log file. Then, I try installing the ps again, but no luck again.
    4. Use the License Update Service tool, but no luck.
    5. Delete the opm.db and lunch the Photoshop again, but no luck, same problem.
***6. Rename the folder SLStore to SLStore_old. Open the program and it will ask me to license the software by signing in with my adobe account, it "works" only for the first time. However, once I close the application and open it again, same problem occurs, the program just closes right after I open it again. Now, I have to rename the folder every time I want to use the Photoshop.
(By the way, this problem happen the same for the LR and now I have to re-name the SLStore folder every time I want to use the LR as well)
It seems to me that I have some kind of the license problem, but I cannot understand why? and how to fix this?
I am using Window 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 on my VAIO laptop.
The specifications are Intel(R) Core i7 CPU [email protected], 6.0GB of RAM. The GPU is NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 425M.
I really need to use the program and that is why I decide to purchase for the package, please help resolve this.
Any help, any recommendation would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I found the solution to this from these thread Re: Photoshop CC opens and then closes immediately. What gives? and Re: Photoshop CC Crashes/Closes within seconds of startup
I did it and it works for me So, I think I should share this so people who have faced the same issue as I can give it a try.
Basically, Just uninstall the Photoshop and Creative Cloud, then rename the folder SLCache to SLCache_old. Restart your computer once and then re-install everything again. (CC and PS)
    It should work.
    Thanks

  • Why does Dreamweaver load so many fonts at startup?

On my Mac Pro I'm using Dreamweaver CS4, and FontAgent Pro for font management. When I try to close fonts I don't need or use, they seem to get re-opened whenever I open Dreamweaver; and they're fonts that aren't "web" fonts, like Big Caslon, Cochin, and Stone Sans Semi Italic. How can I tell DW that I don't want these fonts open? Does DW need them for itself?

I guess I should have been more specific. I have many, many fonts — Open Type, Postscript, as well as True Type — all managed by FontAgent Pro. By "close", I mean deactivate in FontAgent Pro. FontAgent Pro does physically re-organize and move the System fonts out of the various Fonts folders to manage them (except for System/Library/Fonts ... it doesn't touch that folder.) And the fonts that Dreamweaver requests at startup (that are deactivated, only to be activated via FontAgent Pro's auto-activation) aren't standard system fonts, nor standard web fonts. So my question is, why does Dreamweaver need those fonts?

  • SSMS 2014 crashes on startup - Windows 8.1

I had it working briefly, and I suspect some Visual Studio Nuget packages may have screwed it up.  Both SSMS 2014 and Visual Studio 2013 stopped working at the same time, although I managed to fix VS by uninstalling and reinstalling.  The same
has not worked with SQL Server.
On startup of SSMS I get the message "SQL Server Management Studio has stopped working".
The Event Viewer gives the following two errors:

I have also tried to install SQL Server Express but get an complaint about "Validation errors no the page", and the detail is that all the features are installed.

Thanks, but I'm not paying $499 for MS to get their software to work out of the box.
You need not pay to get the fix from Microsoft. It would be refunded back to you when case is closed. You need to tell this to engineer that the case is only to get a fix and need to be marked as "non-decrement"
But, if you need any troubleshooting assistance, then it would be a paid support.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 closes immediately after it opens (Windows 8.1)

Not only the Illustrator CC 2014 but other CC 2014 Apps as well closes after it opens.
It doesn't show any error message or something like that. It's more like if I have clicked at the "close window".
The Illustrator load itself, opens and before I can do something it immediately closes.
I saw an error in the forum with some Wacom tablets but I've tested it with a single mouse and the error persists.
I've just installed the CC 2014 update and now I can't run any Adobe App.
I'm using Windows 8.1, but didn't find any topic about error occurring that way.
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Felippe Silveira

    Hi Felippe,
If it is Illustrator CC 2014.1(18.1.0) and you are using Extensis Suitecase Fusion then please try following solution given in the article.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-cc-20141-crash-launch.html
Here is the Extensions Suitcase 5 update which I believe will solve the issue.
    http://www.extensis.com/support/product-support/suitcase-fusion-5/
    Hope this helps.
Please let me know if this is not the case.

  • Updated to Premiere CC 2014 - Now getting Startup Error - Could not find any capable video play modules

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB.
Ever since the Premiere CC 2014 update, on launch, I get this error right after it shows "ExporterQuickTimeHost.bundle" loading (I tried removing this, but it still did it, so I don't think it has anything to do with the QuickTime plugin):
    Adobe Premiere Pro Startup  Error
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
I never got this in the CC version. I have the latest CUDA driver: version 6.0.46  &  GPU Driver: version 8.26.21 310.40.35f08
The computer is unusable for about 4-5 mins after this happens until it all clears up. This whole process takes up 7-8 mins!
This same thing also happens with Prelude CC 2014.
If anyone knows what's going on I would be very grateful.
    Thanks, Maz

I found a solution that worked for me. Seems to be a permissions problem. Here's the solution I found (found it here: CC 2014 startup issues : Adobe Premiere Pro):
In the finder menu click and hold on the GO menu. Hold the option button and the User library will show up. Click the User Library.
In that folder go to preferences and find the adobe folder.
Right click on adobe folder and click get info.
In the Sharing & Permissions section there should be three names.
All should say Read & Write next to them.
Unlock the lock, switch them all to read and write.
Then click on the little gear directly under the names or to to the left of the lock and in the pulldown click on "apply to enclosed items.
    Then lock the lock again.
Now go to your OS Hardrive and click on Users, your user name, Documents.
    Find the adobe folder there.
    The lock the lock again.
Wait 1 minute. Then launch Premiere.
    This fixed it for me.
