Dreamweaver CC: Head Content options

The removed features page http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/the-new-modernized-dreamweaver-cc.html very helpfully explained that the HEAD CONTENT options have been removed --
View > Head Content
Keyboard shortcut (ctrl + shift + H)
Header View Toolbar in Design view
But... WHY?!!!
This is a feature I've counted on to easily add header metadata to unique documents.  Now I have to go to CODE view and scroll my way up to the head content in order to edit this data. "New modernized Dreamweaver CC" is all very well & good, but not when it creates such an obvious obstacle to routine workflow.
Do you have any suggestions as to how this functionality can be restored to my workflow?
Until then... thank goodness I haven't uninstalled CS6 yet.

Sufficient numbers does not always mean that something is good and/or bad.
Let me try to answer that from the perspective of someone who has been involved in testing Dreamweaver for many years.
In my experience, the Dreamweaver product team does respond to end-users. At the same time, it has its own ideas about the direction it wants Dreamweaver to go. As you point out, sufficient numbers doesn't necessarily indicate whether an idea is good or bad. So, even if a large number of people submit requests for a particular feature, it doesn't guarantee it will be implemented.
What it does guarantee is that the idea will be given serious consideration, even if it's eventually rejected. Many people dismiss the idea of filing reports through the official form, saying Adobe never listens. But if people refuse to submit their ideas/complaints through that form, it's not a case of Adobe not listening. The message never gets through in the first place.
Over the years, I've submitted hundreds of feature requests and bug reports. Not all of them get acted on, but a significant proportion do. Some hints to improve your chances of being listened to:
For a feature request (or getting a feature reinstated), state briefly why the feature is important to your workflow. Explain why its absence hampers your productivity.
For a bug report, provide clear steps to reproduce the bug, and give some details of your operating system, RAM, and other software that was running at the same time. If it's an intermittent bug, provide any information that might help indicate what triggered it (e.g., what were you doing just before it happened?)
Don't rant.

    I had this problem - it appeared to be due to having Firefox 4 with the Firefox Sync installed as an add-on. Firefox 4 has sync included so there is no need to have it as an add-on. I went to the add-on manager and removed Firefox Sync and now appears to be working correctly.

  • BI Content option not displayed in RSA1

    We are using BI 7.0 SP12 with BI Content 703 SP5.  I am not able to see "BI Content" option in RSA1 in our development system.  We activated several BI content objects before in the same system and we used to see "BI content" option before.
    I checked  the installed components and it is showing that BI_CONT 703 SP5 was installed. When I try to run Goto -> Install Business content from menu, I am getting ASSERTION_FAILED runtime errors.
    I tried running "RSOR" and "RSORBCT" tcodes and it is going directly to transport collection screens. 
    Also when ever we are collecting objects for transport, they are going to D (SAP Delivery) version.  When transport request is imported into QA system, the objects are going directly to BI content "D" version there (as opposed to "A" version).
    Any ideas on how I can get BI Content option enabled in development system and fix the issue with transports.  Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

    You need to have a defined site in order for DW to correctly work with your files...

    You can implement them by overriding the appropriate doHead(), doPut(), doOptions(), etc methods in your servlet class.

    While switching to double check this I just saw that this also happens in this very window in wich i am typing my question now. If i copy and paste this text to for example notepad or anything else, it shows up like normal text.

    Every time Firefox opened

    This issue can be caused by the bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or another (bitmap) font that can't be displayed by Firefox in that font size.
    Firefox can't display that font in the specified size and displays gibberish instead.
    You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
    Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or find a True type version of that font that doesn't have the problem.

    Can I use the search-mailbox command to search for message header content?
    The reason I ask is because I need to search for any emails that came in to an email alias address.
    I am searching a journaling mailbox.
    Normally, I would do soemthing like...
    Search-Mailbox -Identity "journalbox" -SearchQuery '"To: [email protected]"' -TargetMailbox "exportbox" -TargetFolder "exported_messages"
    The problem is, because I'm looking to find the emails coming to [email protected], when the messages are journaled they appear as "To: [email protected]" in the journaled envelop message.
    In this scenario if I could simply search header content for the email ([email protected]) that would accomplish what I need.

    We can use the Search-Mailbox cmdlet to search messages in a specified mailbox and perform any of the following tasks:
    Copy messages to a specified target mailbox.
    Delete messages from the source mailbox.
    Copy messages from the source mailbox and delete them from the target mailbox.
    Perform single item recovery to recover items from a user's Recoverable Items folder.
    Clean up the Recoverable Items folder for a mailbox when it has reached the Recoverable Items hard quota.
    To search for message header content, we can use Get-MessageTrackingLog cmdlet.

  • Sending contents to windows authenticated service results in an error - "Content option is only supported when connecting anonymously."

    Error results when trying to send JSON content to a service which is internally hosted and requires windows authentication.
    Here is the sample code :

    Here is exact text from the error:

    BTW, I tried configuring the Privacy and "Fast Combine" options and that does not work either

    Thanks Curt, for the prompt reply.
    In our case, the users are internal and so is the service which accepts the content.  Once the user is authenticated by the windows account, it reasonable to allow content.  
    Would it not be better anyway to have the restriction for anonymous access as opposed to this case where the account is already authenticated on an internal windows domain ?

  • PSE 11 - Adjustment Layer/Layer Content Options & Menus Not Working

    Good evening to all.
    I am using PSE 11, Mac version, updated to the latest version.
    I am unable to edit any type of adjustment layer, i.e., hue/saturation, levels, brightness/contrast.
    I am able to edit fill layers without any issues.
    As a side note, I am also unable to select any of the items under the "Window" menu.
    I am attaching a screen capture of the menu that I am talking about.

    Good evening.  I guess you're correct.  I was just too frustrated to think straight and I guess these are two different issues, so I'll begin with the adjustment layer issue.
    I'm attaching several screen captures to show you what I mean by not being able to edit adjustment layers.
    This screen would be my original image
    This screen shows me adding a new adjustment layer from the "Layer" menu...
    In this case, a hue/saturation adjustment layer
    As you can see, I have the adjustment layer on right side...  but when I double click on it to edit the layer, nothing happens
    Nothing happens when I try to edit the adjustment layer when I try to use "Layer Content Options..." from the menu directly either
    So there you have it...  this is where I am stuck at...

  • New Content option missing from drop down

    Hi,
    I have created one folder, when i try to add content inside that folder.. In "Action" drop down i'm not able to find "New Content" option to create new content inside that folder.

    Could be multiple different things.
    1. do you have RW access to any content security groups? User Profile -- your security Roles will be listed as well as Account access if the system has them enabled.
    2. Can you check in a file in the normal interface (normal check in page) with that folder value and it works?
    3. Is the metadata for that folder locked to something you do not have access to? Owner made it read only? Security group defaulted to one you can not access?
    It could be others too. Those are just ideas.

    Let it do the rotating thing for about 10-15 min. If it is still doing this, try wiping the phone in iTunes.

  • How to disable Show Package Contents option?

    One of the kids at the school I manage figured out how to unlock any program I've disabled via Workgroup Manager by editing a certain string in the info.plist file found within the packages of all applications. So I would like to remove the "Show Package Contents" option from the contextual menu in the Finder on all of the kids' machines. Is there perhaps some terminal command I could push out to the MacBooks via Apple Remote Desktop? Some hidden trick in Workgroup Manager? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Unfortunately, you can't remove it (However you could rename it to something else). Here is a workaround to your problem.
    1. Make sure all applications you want to manage are in a folder that your users have read only access to (such as /Applications).
    2. By default, any properly installed app will have permissions root:admin rwxrwxr-x. If not, make sure they do.
    3. In the terminal cd into /Applications/___.app/Contents/MacOS
    4. Run the command: sudo chmod o-r _____ (Fill in the blank with the name of the app without the .app extention).
    Here is the logic behind this. As long as the apps are in a folder the users only have read access to, such as /Applications, the only way they can edit that info.plist file is to copy the app to their home directory and then edit it. You are now preventing this by taking away their read (and therefore copy) ability to the most important part of the application, the executable. Now they will still be able to execute the app but not read/copy it. If they try, they will need to provide an admin code.

    I have this combination installed on two different machines (one is WinXP, the other Win7).
    When I goto the Addons screen to see which addons are installed and I click the "option" button for the Firefox Sync addon I get a popup window that gives me this error message.
    The full details are as follows:

    You don't need the Firefox Sync 1.7 extension with Firefox 4, Sync is a built in feature. Uninstall that extension and that error message shouldn't appear.
