  • Links working in Safari but not Firefox

    Hi friends,
I'm hoping someone can help this confused amateur (aka me) get my website to work correctly. The site works fine in Safari -- but in Firefox, the internal links do not work (external links are OK). I suspect it has something to do with defining the pathways within the directory, but beyond that I'm lost.
Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm pretty sure it's a simple fix for someone who know what they're doing
    Here's the site: www.thefourglobaltruths.com
The problematic links are under the banner, specifically "about the author," "links," "schedule," and "interviews."
BTW, I'm using a Macbook Pro, 10.6.8, and CS5...if any of that matters.
    Many thanks in advance!

Is this website around 10+ years old?
It contains ancient, invalid code long past due for an update. It's a bit of a time machine.
Have you heard of validating code? It's a quick and easy method of checking if your code can be read properly by a browser.
If you put the address of the author page into http://validator.w3.org/
    You will get 26 errors
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thefourglobaltruths.com%2Fauthor.html&c harset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
Two of the crucial errors preventing this page from appearing are (in Code View in DW)

  • Site fine in Safari, but not in Firefox

so I made a simple photo page in iWeb. the page works fine in safari, but I actually get a 404, page not found error when I look at it in Firefox.
now the even weirder thing is I get this error on my macbook pro, but it works just fine in firefox on my powermac G5. I've also come across a pc user who can't see it properly in firefox, while other pc users can...
    very confused, thoughts?

if you are tying the address in make sure the W in iWeb is a capital.
other than that you might supply the address so someone can attempt to view it.
sounds like an addressing problem though
    good luck

  • Photo Gallery - works in Safari but not Firefox .. ?

    Hi,
    I have a photo gallery at http://www.sg-karting.com/Racing/Photos/Photos.html
When I go into the albums, pictures are displayed in Safari but not on Firefox.
When creating this page on iWeb I selected 'Web Gallery' instead of 'Album'. Does this make any difference?
    Regards.

I have just visited "http://www.sg-karting.com/Racing/Photos/Pages/KartingEdgeRound-1.html" using both Safari Version 3.0.4 (523.12) and Firefox version 2.0.0.9 on a G4 PB 10.4.11. And both browsers displayed the same information from what I can see. All the pictures revealed themselves.
Have I picked the correct album for your example?
I tried other area's of your web site and all appeared to be the same as the Safari. Maybe you need to clear your cache.

  • Web sharing works in Safari, but not Firefox?

Have created a simple website in Sites folder with Snow Leopard (10.6.8).
Appears to work fine in Safari, but when open address http://192.168.1.111/~username/ in Firefox, the old "Your website" html appears - even through that file has been replaced.
Same thing with the WebServer folder. I get the "It works!" file instead of the new one. Works fine in Safari.
    Something I am missing?
Inexperienced at this! Any response appreciated, thanks.

  • I apologize if this is a repeat -- I can't find if my question has been posted, but all traffic received through SAFARI (but not FIREFOX) quoting prices has the latter in EUROS, not US Dollars. Figures in my outgoing Email appear to the recepient in Dolla

I apologize if this is a repeat, but I can't tell if my question has been posted.
For the past several weeks, all incoming traffic via Safari 5.0.5, but not Firefox, containing cost/price figures appear in Euros, not US Dollars. My responses, however, are received correctly in US Dollars. Wierd, and irritating.  Any ideas?

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • Works fine with Safari but not with Internet Explorer

Hi, I just created a website using iWeb, and it looks great in Safari in my Mac and iphone, but when I try to open it in Vaio using Internet Explorer, I get some problems. Sometimes the page just don't open, and when it opens, the fonts are not the same, and things are moved around. What can be the problem and how can I fix it? By the way, I use mobile me for hosting, and my site is www.ogucuo.com
    Thanks!

When you use a font that is not "Web Safe" the computer that downloads your page may not have that font installed. It substitutes another one and this causes the text box to expand and push the other stuff around.
If you enter some text into a box on an iWeb page and then change the font you will see how the text box expands to accommodate a bigger font.
If you really want to use a special font, sparingly, convert it to an image by typing it into a shape or putting a slight shadow on it in the "Graphic" inspector. The iWeb help menu will tell you about this.
If you turn on "Show text imaging indicator" in iWeb preferences you will get a visual indication of the text being converted to an image.
I say sparingly because each image increases your page file size and download time.

  • On my website, in the logo, I have EmergeSense with a shadow. It shows up fine in Safari but not in Firefox ... how can I fix this

I created the layout and design of my webpage on MicroSoft Word and have been useing iWeb to actually create and publish it. In my logo I have the word EmergeSense and it has a shadow of the word behind and benath it. In Safari it shows up just fine but in FireFox it does not.
I do have screen shots of the two I could show you but I don't know to up-load them so you can see the difference. I would like it very much if my logo would show up correctly in Firefox but don't know how to approach the issue.

Try this css for the image: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2009/06/moz-box-shadow/

  • TS3946 Aperture Book: images look fine in Aperture but not in PDF preview.  OS 10.9, Aperture 3.4.5

Aperture 3.4.5, OS 10.9.  When making a PDF prior to ordering a book, I note that images look fine within Aperture book module, but about 10 out of 100 images look terrible in the PDF.  Shall I ignore this and go ahead and order the book?

    Hi,
Strangely I'm now having exactly the same problem all of a sudden.  I've been building the book for about a month now (I've made about 6 before without any trouble) and along the way have been producing a pdf of the book to see how it will look.  Yesterday I noticed some of the images seemed to have lost colour when looking at the pdf version and then today, many pictures all of a sudden look exactly like the example you've supplied above.
I've tried shutting down my imac and restarting thinking it was a memory issue, have checked if I had any filters activated (which I don't and I haven't used filters in books before either), have tried repairing then rebuilding aperture, copying the book to a new library, new location, opening on a different mac and then printing again but none of this had any positive effect.
So from what I understand from your last post, the workaround you came up with was to revert to the original of each image that had the problem and then make the adjustments again?

  • Why is target="mainFrame" for my buttons created in Dreamweaver CS6working in Safari but not Firefox

    I created a site in Dreamweaver CS6 -  http://rootsnation.com
The navigation buttons work perfectly in Safari, guiding the selected pages to the desired frame called mainFrame, but in Firefox they open in new windows. The code appears to be correct so I have no idea why Firefox isn't working with my files correctly.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Corrupt image in Safari, but not Firefox or Chrome

I sent an image link from flickr of a photo generated by hugin - a panorama stitcher.  The image looks fine in Chrome and Firefox however I was sending the link to my father who only uses Safari.  In safari the image shows up initially without contrast adjustment between the stiched segments and then becomes completely corrupt ... has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi Andy
    Thanks for your reply
The image loads in about 3 seconds for me and the block is not similar to JPEG blockiness
    encountered during slow loads.
This is what I see in in Chrome/Firefox
while in Safari I initially see (notice the dark block twoards the right):
and then when download is complete I see just a garbled image.  I've cleared the history and tried this a couple of times - each time the image loads from scratch but shows the same result.

  • Slide show works with Safari but not Firefox!

I'm baffled: I was swapping out some new .jpgs for my site's looping photo slide show on the top of every page, everything was working fine 2 days ago and then... nada. I didn't change anything to cause it AND it displays fine with Safari. I'm pretty sure I have all my plug-ins up to date etc., so WTF?!?!?! Thank you.

Perhaps "slideshow" isn't the best description (I am NOT a programmer). There are six images inside the wood-looking frame on the top of EVERY page, which used to cycle through on a loop. I can still see them with Safari, but although I didn't change anything when swapping out the jpgs a couple of days ago (and they worked fine until yesterday)... they're no longer viewable on Firefox. Again... WTF?!?!?

  • YouTube will not work. It works on Safari but not Firefox

When I go to YouTube, it look almost as if it's a mobile version. The videos appear on the left side of the screen in tiny boxes, and the rest of the screen is white. When I click on a video to play it, I get a "launch application" window that wants me to choose an application (like Quicktime) to play it on. This is only a problem when I use Firefox– it's fine in Safari. But I'd rather use Firefox.

  • URL opens in Safari but not Firefox

I've uploaded all files properly, and I keep hearing that
it's something to do with my path. I'm not 100% familiar in

non-working html doc is compared to a similar one (different only
