Drill down data repeats

I've made a drill down table in Microsoft Visual Studio and placed a drill down function via child group.
The issue I'm facing atm, after I expand, the data displayed in the rows is all spot on except the last row.
The data in the last row repeats after the row before it for some reason I cant figure out why.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Azkyz,
According to your description that you are experiencing the issue when you creating the drill down report in Microsoft Visual Studio, After expand the to display the details child group and found that all works fine expect the last row has been repeated
twice, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce your issue, the issue can be caused by the wrong way you have designed the drill down report. If you have create an new row under the row which display the values: [A],[B],[C],[Pass] and in the new
added row you using this expression to get the values, for example like this, you will always get the last row repeat:
=last(Fields!A.Value);
=last(Fields!B.Value);
If it is not, please try to redesigner the report step by step as below if possible:
Create parent group(Group1) for the Column(Retails…) and the column A is the children group(Goup2), structure like below, delete the blank row and the details column will not blank before toggle:
Right Click lick the Details under the Row Groups and select the “Group Properties”
Click the Visibility and select the hide, check  the “Display can be toggled by this report item:” and in the drop down list select the Group1(Retais..)
Click the preview you will find all works fine.
Please provide the structure of the report and other details information(version of the designer..) to help use more effective to provide an solution, if your problem still exists.
Any problem, please feel free to ask
Regards
Vicky Liu
Spot on. Thanks for the help. It's all good(:

  • Table Data Preview tab: Missing Filter Textbox + Drill Down Data Discovery

1 - With Oracle based tables, when I click them and the table preview loads with all the tabs, on the Data tab there is a Preview entry box. I do not see the same with SQL Server or MySQL based connections. Is there a way to enable it? Am I not looking hard enough or is this function only available for Oracle based tables?
2 - I'm having a hard time trying to search for an answer to this next question (too many false positives based on the terms I am using). In other tools I have used (namely DB Visualizer), when previewing data in the Table's Data tab, a user may 'drill down' through values by right-clicking the field and applying a filter from the pop-up (drop-down with the field names, usual SQL comparison operators and a text entry box). I see SQL Developer has something similar with a filter list, but it only seems to prompt values in the buffer (in order, no less) and only uses the = operator (no LIKE). Finally, I notice that this value is not even present in the Filter text box (if you wanted to edit it further, add more, etc). As with my prior question, am I missing some usability/functionality setting/config or does this feature simply not exist in the way the other tool employed it? This feature is what keeps the other tool installed on my machine.

    Hi Jed,
    1) Sorry, the tool just has fewer bells and whistles for non-Oracle database connections. You might try adding this as a feature request on SQL Developer Exchange.
    2) The normal SQL operators such as LIKE, <, and so on, are supported for the individual column filters, but there are some quirks:

  • Chart Drill Down Data

    Hi guys,
I am trying to create a drill down capability for a column
chart in my application. I am using the HTTPService to get the data
in from an external XML file, but I am having problem getting in
the external data needed when the user selects a column. In simple
    version,
1st level consisit of year(x axis) against amount(y axis)
2nd level,- when user clicks the column representing a year,
the column chart to be produced consist of Month(x-axis, i.e. Jan,
Feb, Mar, etc) against Month count(y-axis,) for the selected
    year

Nothing to do with excel file, just the logic with combo box.

  • Macro for same level of Drill down - Data in different grids

    Dear Team
We have two characateristics of product - Product Line & Parent product Line.
I have created a planning book with two girds -
What I want is, in the first grid -
The Revised plan for the PL (Product Line) = Forecast Share of PL  * Planned Production of the PPL (Parent product pine).
The Planned Production production of all PPLs together (Sum) is available in second gird. But how do I write a macro to fetch Planned production of each PPL (From second grid) and write a macro to calculate the logic in first grid?
E.g. in Above screen, the Planned Production of 60 is total Planned production of two PPLs (Indica =10 & Indigo = 50).
So If I want to achieve to calculate revised plan for Indica V2 & Indica Vista which has share of 40 & 60 % resp, in order to calculate the revised plan as 40% of 10 & 60% of 10 , how do I write a Macro to drill down second grid and fetch value of 10 for PPL = Indica?

    Hi Anish,
There is "Series Names Destination:" parameter on Drill-Down (Insertion) Tab of Bubble chart component. By using that parameter you can retrieve selected serie. Via that value you can extract selected serie's selected value and drill down to required selection via some excel formulas like index-match or vlookup-hlookup. I hope that solves your issue.

  • How to reset drill-down column-chart based on map-chart?

    Hi guys,
I'm facing pritty common issue while designing one of my dashboards.  Let me describe a little bit  more:
    1. I have some data extracted from BW using Query as WebService into my Xcelsius spreadsheet.
    2. I have map-chart - regions for some country.
    3. I have a drill-down column-chart, which displays data for a selected region.
At the beginning column-chart displays results for entire country (which, in fact, is not exactly drill-down). The issue I'm fasing is, that in case I select any region and the data is drilled-down into my column-chart, I have no option to show data for the entire county in the column-chart anymore (the only one way is to restart the report).
Are there any possible way to do this, or am I doing a design error while displaying data, which is not drilled-down, into a chart which is intended to display drill-down data only?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ivaylo Mutafchiev,
I understand your problem now. So your column chart data which is coming from the QAAWS query should be having a prompt which is bound to some cell in excel. and your map might be passing the values for prompt isn't it? in your case the map might be passing a region.
All you need to do is put the prompt in the web service for region as a optional prompt. Now pull in a check box or a Push button(name it as reset or something.). while binding the data to the check box or push button (source data) bind it to a blank cell. when user clicks on it , it passes a blank vlaue to the region(this is ur input for region) which will inturn makes the prompt optional for the region web service. which should pull all the data for all the region.
The whole idea lies in somehow passing a blank cell to your  web service whose region prompt is optional.
    Thanks,

  • Drill down value not matching with Displayed Report Painter Issue-GR55

    Hi,
Need your help for an issue in drill down value of report painter from actual cost coloumn.
I have created a new report group based on OSS Note-157720 in GR55 Traction. This new report group will provide data of Planed / Actual cost, Planned / Actual Quantity of the project in range of fiscal year/periods. The issue in this report is displayed data of actual cost is not matching with drill down data. The actual cost coloumn is formula coloumn which framed by subtracting All periods cost coloumn, Before Periods Cost Coloumn and After periods cost coloumn.
Could you suggest on this issue.
    Thank you for your cooperation.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

The report you are running first might have been created with some hidden columns that contain more than one variables relating to period and fiscal year. These may not be matching those that are required to run the drilldown. Look into the definition of the drilldown report. If you would want to match the first report, It may be better to identify which report runs on drilldown and the run that report with the required parameters.

  • Bubble Chart drill down issues

I have a filter and a bubble chat with 7 series. The chart is showing up bubbles with different size and colors as per the settings when I chnage the filter
The problem is with drill down
I want to drill down to a Bar chart when I click on bubbles. Each bubble click will drill down data into that bar charchart as a pop up. I know how to do it as I have done it in the past with other components.
But when I use drill down with bubble chart, I have to assign separate destination area for each series which makes it difficult to drill down into a chart. What i want is the bubbles to drill down data into a single row so that I can map the Y-axis of chart component to that row and X axis as fixed labels. But I am not able to do that. Moreover once inserted there is no way to clear the destination cells.
However if I use data in range options in bubble chart then I can use drill down as I get only one series in that case. But that method also has limitations.
    1. I am not able to display series name on the bubbles. It doesn't make any sense to show bubbles without any labels.
    2. All bubbles are of same color.
Is it possible to overcome above two limitations when using data in range option?
    Thanks

    Hi Tarun,
as a workaround you could define a special area as mapping area for the X-Y-chart.
This area is filled via excel formulas from the bubble chart drill down destinations. You can concatenate the values from the drill down target areas, like "=A4&A5" etc. Make sure to clear all cells except the actual drill down target cells.
    Hope this helps,
    best regards

  • Multi direction drill down

    Hi All,
I have an issue with the report which has some complex drill down functionality.
    Available Hierarchies*
    1. Country->Area->City->SalesMan->Revenue
    2. Country->Area->SalesGroup->SalesManager->SalesMan->Revenue
    3. Country->Area->District->BusinessGroup->Revenue
In the above hierarchies , i got the data from different dimensions. Here the 3rd level of column determines based on the Area value. Say when i click Area1 it should provide Hierarchy1 drilldown. if i click Area3 it should provide Hierarchy2 drilldown like other.
How to achieve this kind of data based drilldown?
If it is not possible threw normal BI Drilldown then hyperlink will sounds good?. If so how to populate the drill down data? Where to keep the hierarchy informations?

    Hello,
You can go to column properties>column format and create a value interaction to go from one level to the next one by creating two reports and using a "hyperlink". Not exactly a drilldown but you will be able to do what you re saying. You will need to create a second report that depending on the value of Area displays the respective column you prefer.

  • Stacked Column Chart drill down

I have a stacked column chart. Data is dynamic. Sometimes one column will have 0 as value.
I need to do a drill down on the ones which has value. In order to do a drill down everytime, I don't want my drill down to be tied to a specific serie...
    How can I do that?
    Thanks,
    Wen

    Hi Wen:
Let me do a quick demo to you so you can learn how drill down for stacked column chart works
    1. Create a new stacked column chart.
    2. Choose data binding "By Range" and "Data In Columns" binds to range "A1~C2", which has range data as following:
    a, 1, 2
    b, 3, 4
    3. After finishing step 2, there will be two series created (Series 1, and Series 2)
    4. Open drill down tab and check "Enable Drill Down".
    5. Choose "Insert Type" as "Row".
    6. Click "Series 1".
    7. Bind "Source Data" to range "D1~E2" which contains value as following:
    11,12
    13,14
(these are the drill down value you want to insert)
    8. Bind "Destination" to "D3~D4" (empty cells)
    9. Create another component "Grid" under "Other" folder.
    10. Bind grid data to "D3~D4" to present the drill down data.
    11. Preview the xlf file, can click values in series 1, you will see the drill down result. (Grid will be refreshed with new drill down data)
Hope the demo above can help you in your practice, also you can refer to help documents for more information. Let me know if you have any other questions!
    Thanks!

  • Pie chart - drill down/up with HierarchicalCollectionView

    y'ello,
I started to build really simple pie chart with drill down data feature. I decided to use hierarchicalCollectionView, to access children even parent of clicked item, but one problem I realized right now is that pie chart displays only data type ArrayCollection, and hierarchicalVollectionView and method openNode() can be used only Array data type, so when I debugged I realized that can not use openNode(hitData.item)  wih ArrayCollection data type b'cuz flash player pop-ups error window.
Please, chcek short source code. I thought I can make hierarchy from ArrayCollection but can not use openNode() method that next I need this method later access parent or children. Simply when I click on one wedge, drill down, again, when I click, again drill down...when I click Ctrl+click get one level back then again and again....plese help me gurues

  • Drilling down from OmniPortlet chart to detailed chart in same OmniPortlet?

I am trying to use OmniPortlets to create a dashboard of charts showing different metrics.
I want to be able to drill into each chart to get a more detailed chart in the SAME OmniPortlet frame with all the other charts being unchanged. So if I have 3 OmniPortlet charts C1, C2, C3 in the same page, I want to be able to click on C1 and to be able to drill into C1 (details), C2 and C3.
I am trying to do this through OmniPortlet events, parameters and page parameters.
    1) I've defined a OmniPortlet Param1 to parameterize the source of data - So my source URL is http://<URL-base>/##Param1##
    2) I then defined a Page Parameter PP1 that is associated with Param1 and set a default value for this (to make sure ##Param1## gets set for the top level chart). I set this default value in the OmniPortlet Parameters page - (otherwise, the ##Param1## seems to map to a null sting despite the Page Parameter PP1's default value)
    3) Finally, I defined an OmniPortlet event that gets fired when I click on the chart. The Event sets as one of its parameters, the data source that has the drilldown data. This column name is PP1.
So, the chart should first display with the data source URL being initialized from the Page Parameter. When I click on the chart, the Event should set up a new parameterized value in the data source so that next chart with drill down data is shown after a page refresh.
The reality is different from this theory. When I click on the chart, for some reason, the value of Param1 for refreshed Omniportlet display seems to be getting blanked out. So my chart definition gets messed up since the data source is now invalid. The page however continues displaying the original (pre-drill) chart from the cache.
    2)
I don't know whether this problem is because of an improper use of the Page Parameters and OmniPortlet events or whether this is because I seem to be forced to set Param1's default value (maybe this is overriding my data source URL even in the drill down chart).
There seem to be some examples of the chart click causing another chart to refresh. These docs don't have a lot of detail, plus I want the SAME OmniPortlet to show the drill down chart.
Has anybody done this? Any pointers would be appreciated..

    Hi Sebastian,
You cannot have drill downs from different charts to the same target.
As per your scenario you have 3 column charts with warehouses displaying their respective 3 KPI's values. I believe you would have created a series each for available warehouses. If you have selected drill down on load for all the column charts with one single target then at load all the three column charts will try to place the destination of their selected series(based on warehouse selected) to the same target.
And also as you mentioned when the user tries to select the same chart again the target doesn't change, the reason is the same as all the charts are trying to put the destination of the series in the same cell.
Instead of doing it this way, what you could do is to name the series of all column charts the same and have the series name put into one cell. Then based on this series name you can lookup the data for that warehouse and display it in the line chart.
Here again the user has to select the same warehouse in all the three column charts else it wont work.
    Hope this was useful =]

when he logoff the system completey and run the report for the week( 02/09/2008 - 02/15/2009) values it is showing up with values even tough he drill down on free char.
issue basically when he was trying to drill on free char by chaging different date values  in the same instance by clicking on refreh and by entering diffrent values  its showing up as not applicable data found.
but when he enters the values for different weeks  each time by closing the system and relogin report is working fine and showing up data eventough he drill down on free char.

  • How do I create a drill down for my summary data?

I have 7 fields of summary data with all having a common link called the customer account number.
I have tried the following steps several time carefully and was unable to get my drill down to work.
Insert menu > Group and chose the customer account number as my group field
copy and paste the summary fields to the group header ( which I now have hundreds of GH1)
Right click on the details section and chose Hide.
    Suppress the Group Footer
File Menu > Report options and check on Show All Headers on Drill Down.
I must be missing a step somewhere here.  I end up with no summary fields showing (to drill down into), and the customer account numbers showing.
Can some check this out for me?

    hi Michael,
you need a group to have drill down. you can't drill down on a report footer. if you can't group by these categories then you can't have drill down.
your other option is to create an on demand subreport that you can open. i would suggest that you go through a bunch of the e-learning tutorials on crystal reports here. after that go to the online help for crystal reports and use the search tab and search for "creating an on demand subreport"
you'd need to create an on demand subreport for each total that you are showing. again, please see the elearning topics especially on subreports, grouping. and then do follow the steps on on demand subreports in the online help.
