please help me what should i do.. is that a virus?? cuz i been seeing this drivers in my laptop but i havnt partitioned or inserted any drivers but then i still see drivers that are not familiar with me...theres 3 drivers or more please im afraid that
y laptop might have infected

hi im new to discussion groups so i might be a little slow... i came aross a problem a couple of days ago where when i clicked on itunes this came up'this action is only valid for products that are currently installed' im not really sure what to do about it!i have tried to uninstall it but it wont let me i have also tried to install a new itunes but it gets stuck and never finishes the install. i have done some research on the net about it and i think it may have occured due to deleting mcafee of my computer however there are no solutions to this problem.
can anybody help?

that's actually an installer error equivalent
to the InstallShield 1605 error:

after a change of the 365 office version OneDrive for business it is not possible to reinstall the software

I think some settings are still there from the old install.

Problem solved! , my tube is back to normal ( to rock )
all i did is , removed the sys,private,system,resources,data folders from the memory card , switched off my phone , removed the memory card , did a soft reset (*#7370#) and tried to install an application from downloads , i was able to install in the phone memory as memmory card was not inserted then switched off the phone , inserted the memory card and tried to install an application from the downloads, finally i was asked where to install the app. and gave memory card , viola application installed sucessfully

Office 2013 - Excel 2013 - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

I had Office 2010 starter and Outlook 2010 installed. I recently purchased the Office 2013 click to run version (paid monthly subscription) and installed Office 2013. After installing 2013 I noticed that when I opened up Excel files they would
still open in Office 2010. I uninstalled Office Starter 2010 and uninstalled Outlook 2010.
I then manually fixed the file associations for Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and such, however I could not manually fix the Excel file association.
Excel documents show the correct icon however when I double click on them the following error appears "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
I have used the Office 2013 repair process, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013, I have manually uninstalled office 2013 using KB 2739501 (

Recently I found that I can not do mail merges either using Excel documents as the data source and I believe the two items are related.
Any suggestions?

Please try to turn off compatibility mode and then check the issue again. To do this, please follow:
1. Open this folder location:
For Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
For Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
2. Find Excel.exe, right-click it, and choose Properties.
3. Click on the Compatibility tab and ensure that all of the boxes are
un-checked.

I put a clean OS (Win7) on this week and installed CC on a fresh system. I also have a macbook pro and have problems with that also.Is it my account.

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone.

Performed the AppleTV update yesterday. Haven't had a problem since...though it's only been one day. Am I just hopelessly optimistic to think that AppleTV just needed to be updated to match iTunes and iOS for home sharing and airplay?

Hi there,
Firstly, try a hard reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, try restoring your device. Put it in recovery mode if iTunes doesn't recognise it, and restore it from there. I have linked to instructions below.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Every time I try to close iMovie 10 it says "tasks that are currently in progress will not be completed"?

I upgraded to Mavericks and then updated iMovie to the latest version (10?). I opted to let it upgrade my projects and events and these are now available in the new iMovie, but every time I try to shut it down, I get a dialogue box saying "tasks currently in progress will not be completed", what tasks? What is it doing- does anyone know?
Also is it true that after letting it upgrade/update your events and projects, you can delete the old iMovie projects and events folders (to save space)?

I have the same question regarrding tasks in progress. The program seems very sluggish compared to the previous version.
Where is the old iMovie projects and events folder located (folder name)? I would like to save space also or at least move to an external drive and have them as a backup if needed.

Quicktime thinks its installed but its not.

Ive searched the apple forums, other forums, and googled all about this.
I uninstalled QT a long time ago with the Uninstall process (not manually erase), cleaned registry, I mean every single shred of QT. Cleaned /System32/ QT files. Its not in /Program Files/QuickTime/
Tried Windows Install Cleanup Util, but QT isnt listed.
For some reason it Always says:

It is not installed!!!! Why does it think this!!

Mac installer places a "receipt" on the HDD when the QT application is installed -- sort of a digital "paper trail" so the installer knows which version(s) was/were previously installed. Maybe sometthing like that is causing your problem here.
