Dropbox photo editor that is simple to use

Hi
Does anyone have a solution for editing photos on the Ipad where the photo comes from dropbox and then saves the photo back to dropbox in a simple fashion.
Please do not mention icloud photostream or icloud photo library I have spent days trying to get this to work with total frustration.
I have a Windows 7 machine with my Photo folders based on it and I have tried different ways to get a solution working - in end the only reliable and responsive system I can find is dropbox.
It seems Apple is yet to care about making "icloud for windows" work with the PhotoStream or Photo Library Beta version (I have tested Photo stream on different computers and it does not work reliably it randomly seems to upload photos , this is unacceptable if you are a serious cloud user ) The Photo library does not work full stop - there is no way to access the photos at all in icloud drive or in the photos folder. As for using the icloud website it seems to lag and managing a folder based photo library on windows and using that as a import method is totally unusable.
I just want to edit photos in a basic way on my ipad and have them accessible in windows 7 - I was really hoping to use the photo program in ios 8.1 but it seems it is focused on apples icloud and the steps to import and export photos into it from dropbox is just an insult to humanity. I know you can save photos to the camera roll and the go back into dropbox and click add photo and re-add the photo but this is not simple these steps are just unintuitive  - why must there be so many steps to do such a simple thing. So I need a photo editor that can edit and then resave the photo back to the same place in dropbox.
I just want to have a program and hit edit then save and have it upload to dropbox and be accessabe on a windows 7 machine.
I would use apples "way" if it actually worked, if apple wants to make people use icloud then they should make it work fast and reliably in windows 7 and in there icloud website because the vast majority of people still use windows....

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the 13” white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

We have no way of knowing what goes on on your machine. All we can tell is that your iPhoto library is missing and iPhoto can't find it. If you can't find then I the only thing you can do is restore from your Back Up.

  • How to delete specific photos from the photo stream that Apple TV is using

I had previously used Aperture with Photostream on my Mac. The Apple TV apparently downloaded those photos. I stopped using Photostream and Aperture, but the photos are still there. The directions posted on this forum say
If you are using Apple TV Software Update 6.0 or later, choose Photos from the main menu.
If you are using Apple TV Software Update 5.1, choose Photo Stream from the main menu.
If you are using Apple TV Software Update 5.0, choose Internet > Photo Stream from the main menu.
If asked, sign in to your iCloud account.
With your remote control, navigate to a photo that you want to delete. Press and hold the Select button, then choose Delete Photo.
There is no Photos on the main menu.
I want to individually delete some photos. Any ideas/

Yes, there is an icon called iCloud photos on the main menu. You can go into your photo stream and select the photo(s) you wish to delete.

  • Photo Editor that will rotate images?

Found lots of editors - but can't find one that says it will rotate pics from the library- I've downloaded many pics from my computer, but some are in the wrong orientation.
Does anyone know of an app that will do this?
    Thanks
    John

Sort Shots allows selection and sorting by criterea you specify. It can be tedious to set up, but very powerful.
Another idea is to make a Powerpoint or KeyNote presentation. This will allow annotations, sequencing, etc.
    Enjoy...

  • Connecting photo editor to application

    Hi all,
I'm pretty much stuck on this one and need you help.
I have an application which contains photos that need to be heavily edited, so I've decided to provide a click on a photo which will open photo editor (Photoshop in my case) using Runtime.exec(). This works fine. Now I need to update a photo in my application every time the photo is changed (saved) in "out of the application" photo editor.
I can check the database every few seconds and see weather the file was changed, but it is too costly since the connection to the database server is slow.
So my question is: is there any way to listen to the photo editor from the application and get info when the photo was changed, so I can upload new photo?
    Thanks,
    Ben.

Lightroom will render an export copy so after you finish editing in the external editor you need to save (usually Ctr+S) in most software and then close the file (usually Ctrl+W) in Smart Photo. That will save the file back to the Lightroom liobrary.
Don’t make the mistake of using Save AS which will create a new file which Lightroom knows nothing about.

  • IOS 7 didn't come with photo editor?

When I downloaded iOS 7, I noticed that mine didn't upgrade fully. Some of my friends had the photo editor that iOS 7 came with and I didn't. It's not a big deal but if like to know why mine didn't come with it.
I have an iPhone 4 and I've had it for about two years. My company is sprint, if that matters.

    Hey Opal99,
It sounds like you might be referring to the filters within the Camera application itself. I found this info:
Filters in Camera are available on iPhone 4s or later and iPod touch (5th generation 32GB/64GB)
    via: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/
You should be able to edit photos from the Photos application. You can read about that here:

  • Does anyone know of a great photo editor (obviously for Mac)

I'm looking for one that is able to drag images into eachother. I'm mainly focusing on a great sprite creating program.

Here's a tip: don't expect folks on here to download an application from a source they don't now just because you won't explain with more care what you want.
I went to the site and the first thing I noted is that almost all the graphics on there are drawings, not photo edits.
In one of your posts you say:
Like I want to be able to make images bigger than a computer screen.
    And you title the thread
Does anyone know of a great photo editor
So, are you looking for a drawing programme? A Photo Editor? Or what? If you want a photo editor that will "make images bigger than a computer screen" where is the app to do this? By Printing? By zooming in? How?
It's very difficult to help someone who apparently wants a drawing programme but that might be a photo editor.

  • Want to start PSE 12 in photo editor but it will only start in Orgaizer, can't get to welcome screen and the .exe file that Adobe said to look for does not exist on my files

Have tried to start PSE 12 in photo editor but it continues to start in Organizer.  I do not want my pictures loaded in Organizer at all.  Saw a page on the web that said to click on an .exe editor file but that is not on my files.  Also cannot get a welcome screen to come up, only an organizer even though I checked it the first time to come up in photo editor.  I'm now having Organizer crammed down my throat.  Tried online chat but was cut off with the statement that no support is offered for v12 any longer.

    Hi,
You failed to say which operating system you are running on so I'm assuming it is Windows of some type.
You should be able to find the following files, using explorer, depending on your system.
    64bit system: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    32bit system: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Double clicking on that should start the editor - suggest to create a shortcut to it.
If you can't find one of those files, then you either installed it somewhere else or you need to re-install elements.

  • Just bought my first Mac. I have 1000s of photos on my PC, well organized into folders independent of any organizing software.  I want to do the same on the Mac (i.e., ignore iPhoto) and use basic photo editor. Any suggestions?

Just bought my first Mac.  Have 1000s of photos well organized in files I created in the Pictures folder on my Windows PC.  I plan to copy everything to the Mac and maintain my "independent" collection rather than dump everything into the iPhoto library. Any suggestions for a basic photo editor similar to MS Photo Gallery that I can use on the Mac?

Finally, yesterday I bought a WD My Book for Mac 3TB external HD.
First thing to do is repartition the drive into 1 new partition and reformat as OS X Extended (journaled).  Some WD drives come with software that is not compatible with 10.9 and should not be used. Then follow r4kaufmann87's suggestions.

  • Is ilife any good at publishing simple photo galleries like iWeb/ mobile me used to be?

is ilife any good at publishing simple photo galleries like iWeb/ mobile me used to be?

As Roddy pointed out iWeb will still create album and/or photo pages that will work on the hosting server of your choice.  These two pages are demos of that: Using an iWeb Album Page as an Alternative to MobileMe Galleries  and Using an iWeb Photo Page as an Alternate to a MobileMe Gallery
This may also be of help to you: Life After MobileMe.

On the bottom bar of the window (on the left iPhoto 11, on the right in other versions) note the slider. Drag it left.

Against TOU which you "agreed" to in order to post in these user to user forums.  If you want to "suggest" something to Apple, do so in the Product Feedback area.

if it's ntfs microsofts filesystem then you need a windows machine to recover them

  • Is there a format for a file that I can use for attaching a one page document with photos embedded that will open in everyone's email automatically?   I've tried PDF and Word, but worked only in Mail.  Lost formatting when just copied and pasted in email.

Is there a format for a file that I can use for attaching a one page document with photos embedded that will open in everyone's email automatically?   I've tried PDF and Word, but PDF worked only in Mail.  Word worked in nothing.  I also tried copying and pasting the document but lost all formatting when just copied and pasted in email.  Is there a way to do this?

Are you sure PDF won't work? It should as what you're trying to do is pretty much what it is designed for (PDF - Portable Document Format). On a Mac anywone who receives the file should be able to see it in all its page layout glory by using the app Preview or Adobe Reader. Same on a PC, the file should be viewable as a PDF file using Adobe Reader and probably some other viewer (don't use PCs so not sure what other apps).
What application are you creating the file in and are you sure you're exporting it correctly in PDF format, fonts and images embedded?
