Droplet fails in CC 2014

I'm running PS CC 2014 in Windows 7, 64 bit. Droplets than ran before uninstalling PS CC no longer run. Previous solutions (run PS "as administrator", drag and drop the droplet on Photoshop.exe, rewriting the droplet, renaming the droplet) all fail. Properties of the new droplet indicate that it is File version 14.0.0.0 and its product name is Adobe Photoshop CC with a product version CC.I need a solution please.

I've got the droplet working, but I don't understand why. I reinstalled PS CS6 and created the droplet there. Now the droplet runs with PS CC 2014, ignoring CS6 entirely. I think this issue goes back to CS3, so there must be a problem deep within the code somewhere.

  • Save files as PNG to original folder, using droplets in Photoshop CC 2014

I want to save RAW images from Lightroom as PNG and found a method online that involves using a droplet in PS. I created this droplet with an action in PS that involves saving an image file as a PNG, to a folder which I call 'PNG files'. To get a PNG file the procedure goes like this:
From Lightroom the image is saved as a TIFF in a new folder within it's original folder
    After saving the image, the droplet is used automatically from Lightroom;
The TIFF image is opened in Photoshop, and saved as a PNG in the 'PNG files' folder
My issues with this is that (1) it creates an unneeded TIFF file and (2) The final PNG image is not saved in the folder of the original RAW file. Ideally I'd like to convert the TIFF to PNG in Photoshop and overwrite the TIFF file with the final PNG file. However with the way Photoshop "Save As" and "Save for Web" functions are set up, I must choose a specific folder for the PNG file, which means that all the resulting images end up in one folder, instead of in whichever folder the TIFF file was saved to. With droplets there is an option to "Save and Close" which would overwrite the original TIFF file with the final file. However this bypasses the action where I saved the image as a PNG, so I'd essentially be overwriting one TIFF file with another TIFF file.
The situation now is that for the sake of organization I'd have to (1) delete the TIFF files after each export and (2) Move the final PNG files to the folders I want them to be in. This of course would be time consuming.
If you could help me with this problem I'd be extremely grateful! With the medium I'm using PNG files display much better than JPG. Now I just want to achieve a smooth workflow.

When you record the action to Save As PNG (not save for web) it doesnt matter where the location is.
You will override this in the droplet.
Action- states a location of 2014/06/04 (irrelevant)
    Droplet- Overrides the location.
The Save and close portion of the droplet does just that. A location is never asked for.
The preference in Photoshop- ensures the png is saved alongside the tiff.

  • Merge to Panorama, HDR Pro, and Open as Layers Fails in CC 2014

I have had this issue for months.
There have been 2 updates to CC 2014 and still the issue remains.
I have uninstalled all versions of Photoshop and Lightroom and re-installed CC 2014 and LR. Still the problem remains.
I have read, in other posts on this forum, that the problem was addressed and that the up to date version now works correctly. This is not true for me.
I am unable to use Merge to Pano, HDR, or open as layers regardless of whether I try to do it from within Photoshop or from Lightroom.
All of the dialogs to open the images behave correctly: in PS, the dialogs take me through opening the files and allow me to select them and then click OK. But then the dialog window closes and nothing happens.
Same is true from Lightroom; I get a warning about the Camera Raw plugin (which is at 8.0.0.) but then it opens the merge dialog window and gives me the proper options and after I click OK, the dialog window closes and nothing happens.
To be perfectly clear, when I say "nothing happens, I mean NOTHING." The program does not lock up, no files open, no errors, nothing... I can watch my resource meters and they don't even twitch.
    So, what's next?

Online chat came through with a correct fix for the problem:
    Camera Raw plug-in installer

The droplet works properly when I select a small number of files (say 10) to be exported, but if I select a large number (say 500) the droplet is not executed. I just get a folder of unsharpened files without any indication of an error. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

It's because of limits on the number of characters (ie the string of filenames) that can be sent to the droplet. Windows and Mac have different limits.
Without testing, my guess is that you may be able to increase the number of files sent to the droplet by choosing where you export to, and maybe by your choice of filename. So for example, send them into a "D:\pics" folder rather than into "C:\Documents and Settings\John\My Documents\lightroom Burned Exports" - the string will be shorter. But I repeat I haven't tested this - if it helps, do post back.

  • Problem with droplet

All my file type associations work fine. Every image opens in Photoshop CC 2014. No problem there. But when I make a droplet I do have a problem. The droplet opens Photoshop CC (not 2014) and my actions fail because that is a Dutch version of Photoshop.
I can work around this problem by first opening CC 2014 before I use the droplet but I wonder why the droplet does not open CC 2014?
I can not find a way to associate a droplet with Photoshop CC 2014.
    Any clues?
(I want to keep CC in Dutch because I give a course in my local community in Dutch and so I know  the exact terminology)

And after that it all fails and Timer Jobs ain't working on App server, on WFE servers eveyrthing is allright and working as it needs to be.
I searched a lot of forums and different, but none of offered solutions ain't working, and that is not good.
PS. On development server eveything worked fine, looked through log files and this job run without any errors - Dev server is one in all installation, though.
If there is somebody who can help me with this, I would appreciate your help.
    TY!

    TY for your response,
I used the script to update timer job config, but that isnt helping, and, also, this isnt a timer job that is already in timer job definitions. Its the one, that's created and after execution gets deleted, because its grayed out in timer job history page
and I cant access it. if you look closer at log files I have pasted, you will see that the timer job that is created gets deleted almost immediatily and isnt executed and after that all timer jobs on my App server aint working and this happens every time after
I restart Timer Service on App server, event ID is 6398, but timer job config cache isnt the problem.
And, as much as I cant tell from logs - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. - I recieve this error because there is no timer job with ID, that is shown in error, because of this:
    Deleting the SPPersistedObject, SPUpgradeJobDefinition Name=job-upgrade.
    Maybe this information cansomehow help:
The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition (ID 910fbcdc-2691-490e-a9e9-563ae767612e) threw an exception. More information is included below.  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    After previous error:
Exception stack trace:    at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUpgradeJobDefinition.Execute(Guid targetInstanceId)     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAdministrationServiceJobDefinition.ExecuteAdminJob(Guid targetInstanceId)
at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPTimerJobInvokeInternal.Invoke(SPJobDefinition jd, Guid targetInstanceId, Boolean isTimerService, Int32& result)
And after that Upgrade timer job gets deleted and thats it, App server aint working like it nedds to and no Timer job are executed.
I hope this can help to narrow this problem down to a specific component or help resolve this error.

  • Win 2K8 R2 - Group Policy Management - Failed to Open Group Policy Object. You may not have appropriate rights. The network path was not found.

New to Windows Server 2008 R2 Administration.
I setup this Windows 2008 R2 Server on a Dell 2950 Poweredge server and have been migrating users off of an old NT style domain running on Samba 3.6 on CentOS.
I have the domain setup (nicholas.sacredheartsaratoga.org), added users, and have moved users / computers over to the new domain and working.
When attempting to setup Group Policy Objects, I continually get the "Failed to Open Group Policy Object" Error.  This is driving me nuts and seems to be a 49 error.. which I have done a ton of research on but none of the suggested fixes seem
    to be working.
I've been working at this for a couple of weeks and really need this fixed to be able to set GPO's correctly.

I appreciatte very much your assistance on this,  this URL called so much my attention:
    https://fe2.update.microsoft.com/v6/UpdateRegulationService/UpdateRegulation.asmx.
we are corporate are not supposing to receive anything from the internet, only local WSUS approved updates.
Again, thank you for you assistance on this.
    Joe.

    "DnldMgr Regulation server path: https://fe2.update.microsoft.com/v6/UpdateRegulationService/UpdateRegulation.asmx."
problematic Workstation is trying to contact Microsoft for update.
Should WSUS be pushing updates to workstations instead?
IF yes, Adjust workstation and GPO to do that.
IF no, does workstation have permission to visit Microsoft?

    Does anyone have
    an idea maybe??
    Vmware Version is: 6.0.2 build-1744117
    Host: Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1
    WIN2012RT Iso is: 9600.17050.WINBLUE_REFRESH.140317-1640_X64FRE_SERVER_EVAL_DE-DE-IR3_SSS_X64FREE_DE-DE_DV9.ISO DOWNLOAD: http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/evalcenter/dn205286.aspx

Ok. I could finde out the Problem.
I uninstalled VMware witht RevoUninstaller and deleted all Vmware sysfolders and all regKeys.
    Important note:
The first Installtion was on the 2nd Hard disk on my PC. These Harddisk was Connected via USB3 Port. VMware was successfully installed, and via the standart installation procedure the ISO files could be installed in Vmware, but the problem persist with
    WIN2012RT server.
After a new installation of VMware into the Local C: Drive. The Win2012RT.Iso could be installed. With this procedure
    without Issues: http://www.techieshelp.com/server-2012-windows-cannot-read-the-setting-from-the-unattend-answer-file/

In Windows Event long I can see the following events logged:
    Event 3002, Port Map:
Windows(R) failed a request to register RPC Port Mapper on TCP port 111.  RPC Port Mapper cannot start.
Network File System (NFS) clients use RPC Port Mapper (also known as Portmap and Rpcbind) to discover NFS protocols on remote servers.  Without RPC Port Mapper, Server for NFS
cannot start and NFS clients cannot access files on this server.
Verify that no other software is registered on TCP port 111, then start Server for NFS manually (which will also start RPC Port Mapper).
    Event 7000, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Driver service depends on the Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service which failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS service depends on the Server for NFS Driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start.
Based on a technet forum I have already checked and made sure there is no other service running on port 111 (command used is netstat -a -b -o).
    Dependent Service Status:
During the installation process “Client for NFS” seems to have gone well and the service started successfully. But the “Server for NFS” failed, when checked for the status of the dependent process “portmap” service failed to start with the WIN32_EXIT_CODE
“31 (0x1f)”. Please find below the query result.

As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.
    Thanks

My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!
    Have a good one!

  • Group Policy Infrastructure Failed : The target name is incorrect

    Hi,
I am currently facing issues regarding Group Policy, users are unable to change the password.
When i run gpupdate /force on servers, the user policy and computer policy are successful but when i run the same on any client i receive error as per below,

  • Windows Update fails on Server 2012 R2 Virtual Machine

I have set up a virtual network with two virtual machines. The first VM is Server 2008 R2 and is set up as a domain controller. The second VM is Server 2012 R2, and has been joined to the domain.  The DC (TestVM1) is also set up as a DNS server.
From TestVM2 (Server 2012 R2), I am able to log in using a domain login, and I am able to browse to a public website.

This is blocking further work.  Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue. Fresh build of Server 2012 R2 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing ISO. I tried before and after joining to the domain. Same error every time.  Firewall is turned off. No AV. We do have a cloud proxy service, but I bypassed
that as a test and got the same error message.  I also tried to stop wuauserv and cleaning out the folder and starting it back up.  No joy as well.  This is a VM server running on ESXi 5.1.  Server 2008 servers dont seem to have
an issue.  Server 2012 server don't seem to have an issue.  Only this new Server 2012 R2 server.  My logs are below:
