Dry loop DSL without 1 yr contract

I was wondering if fry loop DSL is available without 1 yr contract. I checked dry loop is available in my area. The weird thing is when I called customer service this lady called Bela from retention department said it is avilable only with 2 yr contract while the website doesnt mention anything about 2 yr contract.

Hi Yetendra,
Yes you can have a plan called as month to month[MTM] which doesnt have a annual contract.
If you are exiting customer with Verizon you can call 1-8005676789 to change it to MTM
However if you are new customer you can call 1-8004834000 to sign up
Thanks

  • Move to Dry Loop DSL

Currently I have a contract with Verizon Double Play until the end of March 2011.  Does Verizon offer Dry Loop DSL?  What do I need to do to move from "landline homephone+internet" to "internet" only.
    Thanks,

Verizon offers Dry Loop DSL in most areas. Some areas might not offer it. As to why, I couldn't tell you. Just let Verizon know that you want to shut off the telephone service but keep the DSL on. They should be able to put in the request and adjust your bill accordingly. The DSL will go up a few dollars a month when switching to Dry Loop, keep in mind.
Just be aware that in some cases, Verizon may wind up disconnecting the actual copper loop itself. There should be no need to do this as it is controlled by software for the most part. On a dry-loop DSL line, you will receive a fast busy signal if you attempted to use a phone on it in most areas. Figured I'd give you the heads up on this as it's happened to a buddy of mine and he was by no means prepared for his DSL going dead a day after his phone service was turned off.

  • Verizon Disconnected My Dry Loop DSL

I have had the Dry Loop DSL for two years after dropping my landline.  I got the letter from them in May saying they were no longer offering the Dry Loop but for those that have it, nothing changes as long as you don't make a change to your account.  Figured I was fine.  I was away on business last week and came home to no internet.  Spent an hour on the phone between Repair, Billing, back to Repair and then to Sales but all I could find out was there was a Pending Disconnect on my account but they couldn't tell me who did it or why.  Funnily enough on the same day the Disconnect order went through, my Discover Card was billed the $41.99 for June.  The last person I spoke with put an Investigation Order though to find out why this is happening and I was supposed to hear from someone Saturday or Monday.  Nothing.
Has this happened to anyone else with the Dry Loop?  They are telling me now to get reconnected, I'll have to bundle with a landline, which I don't want.
I plan on disputing the June charge with my credit card company and then go to Comcast.  I can get way more speed for less money for the first year and then it will cost me more but at least I'll have more speed.
UPDATE:  I got an email from Customer Service after submitting an issue yesterday telling me that once the diconnect order was placed, it can't be reversed or reconnected.  NO ONE has told me yet WHO order it disconnected and WHY.  They said they will refund me from the 6/22 diconnect date through July 9.  I just placed an order with Comcast for Internet Only AND filled a complaint with the FCC.  I did nothing to initiate this disconnect and if they can just randomly diconnect you and then try to force you into a bundled landline to get reconnected, then no dry loop customer is safe.

  • Slow Dry Loop DSL question

    Hi,
I've had this dry loop dsl for a couple of months after getting rid of my home phone dial tone and using my VZW smartphone as my only source of voice comm. In the last month (March) speeds have been below dial-up speeds. Before going to dry loop I would typically get on the 1 MB plan 0.75mb down and .35mb up which worked great for me as I don't watch video, play online games or use a lot of bandwidth heavy sites on the net.
Now beginning in March it has dropped and sometimes just disconnects then returnes to:
    Last Result:Wednesday 04-Apr 2012, 06:22:02 PM
Download Speed: 138 kbps (17.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 124 kbps (15.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Wondering  what happened? I've done the turn on-turn-off Westell 6100 moded, reboot the computer, unplug the dsl line then plug it back into the modem...still can't get consistency like I had  months before going to dry loop dsl. Here's my Westell modem transceiver stats as of this morning: (does look a little better down stream but upstream is ...  well blah for email; especially a 2mb photo attachement!)
    Transceiver Revision
    3.3.6.10.0.1
    Vendor ID Code
    4D54
    Line Mode
    ADSL_G.dmt
    Data Path
    INTERLEAVED
    Transceiver Information
    Down Stream Path
    Up Stream Path
    DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec)
    864
    160
    Margin (dB)
    30.3
    31.0
    Line Attenuation (dB)
    30.3
    17.0
    Transmit Power (dBm)
    16.8
    11.2
You think a suggestion to Verizon on having the CO in my rural town move me off of a busy router/DSLAM to see if that would bring up my down stream and up stream numbers with consistency? Or maybe the line noise is bad. Or my TIB outside of the house that has been worked on a couple of years ago isn't compatible with dry loop dsl now?
Thanks for anyone taking the time to help out on this. First time poster here.
    Nixie

Are you only seeing speed drops during the evening hours or is this a case that occurs 24/7? The line statistics look fine now, but there's a difference between congestion, an incorrectly built PVC and physical line trouble.

  • Dry loop dsl availablity in autumn creek, friendswood, tx

    Hi,
I have verizon land line and dsl, would like to know if "dry loop dsl" is available in the autumn creek subdivision, friendswood, tx?
    Thank you,

Verizon themselves doesn't sell Dry Loop DSL anymore, however you can likely get it from a 3rd party / reseller over Verizon's lines still. Companies such as DSLExtreme tend to be good choices. Services will differ going with a third party in many cases, but the actual Internet connection will usually stay the same.

  • DSL dry loop

How can I get DSL dry loop?  I want to drop my phone service.

Verizon doesn't offer Dry Loop DSL anymore, even though there isn't a technical reason as to why they can't. You might want to look around for a DSL Reseller, since you're likely going to be able to get dry loop through them. DSL Extreme tends to be a common choice amongst others for Verizon.

  • Dry loop availability

I have been told both on the phone and using the online availbility checker that DLS is not available.  Even though I am in a densly populated area, I am not close enough to a "switching station" apparently.  But what about Dry Loop?  Since it's carrying only data and no voice, would that distance limit be extended?
I already have a Verizon voice line, and an extra line running to the house, now disconected, that I used to use for dial up Intenet years ago.  Was thinking that  extra line could be converted to dry loop DSL with very little fuss.

    >>18,000ft or less from the Central Office<<
I assume that's "wired" feet, rather than as the crow fliles.  Correct?  So there is no difference in feet for Data alone and Data and Voice together?

  • If i got an iphone 5 and synced it with my computer, can i get the contract from my iphone 4 to a iphone 5 without upgrading the contract? (So that i will still have the same contract)

If i got an iphone 5 and synced it with my computer,
can i get the contract from my iphone 4 to a iphone 5 without upgrading the contract?
(So that i will still have the same contract) (I have verizon.)

    Ask Verizon.
You will have to activate the phone through them.

  • I recently inherited a restored iPhone 5 from my uncle and its needs a sim to be activated, could i use my friends sim just to activate my iPhone and then give the sim back once its activated without affecting his contract and later on get a sim ?

I recently inherited a restored iPhone 5 from my uncle and its needs a sim to be activated, could i use my friends sim just to activate my iPhone and then give the sim back once its activated without affecting his contract and later on get a sim for myself and a contract for me and it all be normal??? Thanks

The phone MUST have a SIM present in order for activation to complete. The process will not finish otherwise.
    For the OP:
If the iPhone 5 is locked to a carrier, you must use a SIM from that same carrier. Otherwise I think you would be OK borrowing the SIM to activate the phone.

  • Security patches without paid support contract?

I've installed S10-u2 on an old E450, and I'm trying to get to the S10 patch cluster. I do not have a paid support contract (and don't particularly intend to get one, either). Is there a way to download the security patches for S10 without a support contract?

If you register the machine with sun update connection using updatemanager
but specify you don't have support contract.
Then updatemanager and smpatch analyze/update should let you download security patches but no others.

  • SRM Invoice posting without PO reference - Contract Management

    Dear experts,
We are on SRM 701 with ECC 6.0, in ECS.
Our requirement is to allow invoice posting in SRM, without PO reference. The invoice will only refer to an existing SRM central contract.
We did all the relevant customizing and we were able to:
    Replicate SRM central contract to ERP, through PI;
Invoice creation in SRM and posting in the backend (FI), through IDOCs.
As far as I understood in this scenario, the invoice posting is made only through FI (not using MIRO).
My expectation was to have the contract number in some field at the invoice document level, in the FI.  However there is absolutely no reference to the contract in the invoice document. Does anyone know if this is a standard behavior and/or any idea of how to achieve my requirement to have the contract number in the invoice posting?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Andreia

    Hi guys,
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks!

  • Can I get a text package without renewing my contract?

I am currently out of contract and I want to stay that way however, my wife and I are starting to text and we currently pay per text.  I think it would be cheaper to get a text package than continue to pay per text.
Can I add a text package WITHOUT locking ourselves in for another new 1-2 year contract?
Thanks in advance for your help.

you can add/remove to text, data, ect
    you can change minutes
the only thing that could happen is if you bought the phone at someplace like bestbuy/walmart/amazon/ect
and are still under a contract you may get hit with an etf from them.  they often have a seperate contract you sign
that says you wont change your plan within x number of days, the x varies by place.
almost forgot you can also change to a talk/text plan
700 min, 2 lines, unlimited text for 99.99
    or 1400 for 119.99

  • Upgrade Only DSL without racking up price

Currently my Dad pays $15/month after a discount for verizon phone and internet. Since the internet is pretty slow I was looking for options to upgrade only the internet. It seems the only thing that I can do is create my own bundle, but whenever I choose about the same service we have now, the price skyrockets up $25 for the same service. This doesn't make sense to me. I just want to increase the internet plan by a level without paying tons more. I guess maybe this was some kind of special deal that we have now? I'm wondering if there is a way to do that?

The discount may be a promotional discount for service. Typically the discounts will be removed if the service plan changes, either due to a bundle change (if phone and DSL are bundled) or when they expire.
Typically going from the lowest DSL plan to the highest plan will run an additional $10/m for at least the first year. Then the price will go up usually an additional  $7/m. Removing the $15 discount will cause the price you're seeing.
Try talking to someone in billing to see if they can help find a better deal than what is being offered online. Just be sure to ask questions such as, what is the catch, what is changing, what is the promo price and what will it become after a year.
Otherwise, my advice is to price out Internet service based on how many dollars a single Megabit costs (divide the price by Mbps). If your line supports only 1.5Mbps max, paying $42/m for the Enhanced DSL package is usually silly of FiOS or a Cable provider is around.
