DSL Line two locations

Not sure if this is the place to post this question but I have a DSL line coming into the house and a Qwest modem. Then I run into Apple Time capsule. The wireless feature is working fine but I can not get a strong signal out in the backyard. I have a phone line out there and would like to hook up another modem and wireless system. Is it possible to run two seperate systems off the same phone line and DSL line coming into the house?

can anyone help on this one ?

  • DSL line at two locations

We have the need to establish a network that connects the VolP phones in the garage of a ranch house and the WiFi network in the remainder of the ranch house.
We have extentions of the DSL line at two locations. 1. At the garage and 2. In the other side of the house.
We have purchased a SPA2002 and a WRT54G WIRELESS-G ROUTER, can you give me instructions as to how to do it?

    Hi,
The one which you see in the path <AIA Directory>\AIAComponents\EnterpriseObjectLibrary\Core\Common\V1 is the release 1. If you open the Datatypes.xsd you could spot the difference.

    ** Version 1.00 **

Do check the Datatypes.xsd in <AIA Directory>\AIAComponents\EnterpriseObjectLibrary\Core\Common\V2. This is the latest release and it imports the xsd from Infrastructure library.

  • Can I run two DSL lines into my airport network?

I have a 1.5M line from Qwest and can not get faster speed from anyoe else in my semi-rural community. Can I run two 1.5 DSL lines into one or two airport extremes and get the equivalent of a 3.0 line?

If I have two DSL lines each connected to its own Actiontec modem with each modem connected via ethernet to its own airport extreme then it sounds like I need to have two wireless networks to take advantage of the second DSL connection. Correct? We have a lot of computers being used in the household so could put the kids on their own network.
Apparently the airport extreme can not manage a network with two internet connections even if they are connected via separate airport extremes? I have worked at companies that have done this for internet connection redundancy purposes so there must be devices that can handle this.

I have chek the DNS and nslookup all are correct but this is generate error.
Is this possible Mumbai location join with this Domain(CAPLDC)???
One more thing when i have created another DC with this name (papldc.com) then Mumbai location is joined properly.

Why are you using a single labeled domain? I would recommend renaming the domain name to be something like domain.com.
Please refer to the articles below to fix your current issue:

  • Linking devices that use seperate routers with 2 seperate dsl lines.

Basically at home i have a setup like this using two different dsl lines.
    DSL-Line1 > Wireless Router/Modem1 > laptops/games consoles using it.
    DSL-Line2 > Wired Router/Modem > wired pc's/file server.
Basically i'm wondering if i replace the wired router/modem with something like a wag320n is there a way to link the two wireless networks together so the games consoles/laptops can get access to the pc's/file servers, but have them still using the seperate dsl lines?,
ie being able to see each other but still using dsl-line1 internet access for the games consoles etc, and the pc/fileservers using dsl line 2.
    Thanks

You can connect both routers with an ethernet cable. Example setup:
Wireless router: LAN IP 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0. DHCP server enabled for 192.168.1.100-149.
Wired router: LAN IP 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0. DHCP server disabled.
Everything which is supposed to go through the wired router must have a static IP address configured on the device itself. You configure an IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.200, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.2 and dns 192.168.1.2. Now that computer will use the wired router as internet gateway.
All devices which still use DHCP to obtain an IP address will connect through the wireless router to the internet.
Inside your LAN you have full connectivity.

  • Use MDT share on two locations, servers?

    Hi,
I'm using Dropbox to make a backup of my MDT-share (lab-environment).
Now it would also be interesting to use it effectively on the two locations (home lab and laptop which I carry around (runs several vm's). I'd like to avoid creating multple shares since my content would double then (Windows OS-es, Applications etc) without
    really needed.
What would be the best way to achieve? Pls advise.

if you want to make a backup of your deployment share, then it all depends on how much custom *stuff* you added to the Applications, Operating Systems, Drivers and Scripts.
In most cases, If I wanted to backup my applications (for example) , and the command lines entered into the MDT console, I would just archive the DeploymentShare$\Control and DeploymentShare$\Applications folder. Most everything else can be reconstructed

  • Connecting a router at the end of DSL line using 255.255.255.255 subnet mas

Hello there, I am going to attach one Cisco 1760 router at the end of DSL line. My service provider has given us one static IP address with 255.255.255.255 subnet mask and no gateway address. I am going to run IPSec VPN between this router and our center router over the Internet. However, with the given IP address, it seems that I cannot make this VPN tunnel as we do not have the IP address for the default gateway. do you think I can use this IP address with 255.255.255.255 subnet mask and no gateway to achieve my goal?

    Hi
You can setup the easy vpn server/client setup here for the VPN connectivity between ur locations.
Your central router will act as the easy vpn server accepting the tunnels from the easy vpn clients which is nothing but your remote locations.
But before getting this configured i would suggest to check out whether both ur routers support the configuration required for the same.
basically u need to have the required ios in ur router to support them up also the required h/w resources like DRAM,FLASH to hold the supported IOS code..
Pls check this link for more info on how to configure the same..

  • How does Creative Cloud for teams work with staff who work in two locations ie in the office/home

How does Creative Cloud from teams work with staff who work in two locations i.e. in the office and home?

There is no difference please be aware that each login is provided with two activations however.  If you wish to have a computer at both work and home activated though that is perfectly fine as long as your employer is ok with using company software at home.

  • My mac wifi connection to DSL line was down when I tried to upgrade Ipad to IOS6, and it defaulted to Ipad data line and consumed my monthly allotment of data -- How can that happen as a technical matter?

Maps did not work for me for the first week after upgrading to IOS6 on my New Ipad -- I have since learned that I exceeded my 2 gig monthly data plan and therefore I had no 4G access on my ipad, which meant Maps couldn't work while traveling.  Since I never download videos, I knew I had not knowingly downloaded that much data.  When I called AT&T, they told me that when I upgraded to IOS6 I consumed over 1 gig of data.
I did the upgrade while connected to my iMac, which in turn has a wireless connection to router connected to my home DSL line.   My wifi service has been spotty lately, possibly because router is defective.  So let's assume that when I tried to download IOS6 that my iMac did not have a good wifi connection.  Is the AT&T person correct that the download defaults to the Ipad's 4G cellular network, even though the iPad is connected to the iMac by USB cable?  I didn't think that was possible as a technical matter -- i.e., that the iMac gets automatic access to the iPad's connection to the cellular network.  (I'm sure I'm not explaining this right, I'm obviously not technical.)
Also, do you get any obvious warning or indicator on the device that you have exceeded your data limit for the month?  I sure didn't see any warning, (although I now know that I can go to Settings, then Cellular Data, then View Account and find the status of my data line account).
Thanks for any help on this.

Strange. It works fine with my setup which is no different from yours. Problem with the cable or LAN port(s)?

I have my personal music (not purchased from Itunes) stored in two locations, on my PC and on an external HD. How can I find out which directory itunes uses to access this music? I am using Itunes version 11.4.0.18. Thanks

Many thanks JEM24 for your help.  Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone  the actual cost of each additional  gigabyte of storage  to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Many thanks again though for helping me.

  • HT1379 The USB ports on my 30" Cinema are not working.  The monitor has not been used for a year or so, and the computer is a Mac Book Pro, 1012 model running OS Mavericks.  I need to move the computer between two locations, and the other monitor is a 27"

The USB ports on my 30" Cinema HD display appear to not work.  The monitor has not been used for almost a year, when I upgraded to a new Mac Book Pro and the 27" retina display.  Now I need to move the computer back and forth between two locations using the two displays.  The need for operating USB ports is essential.  Any ideas.  The display appears entirely normal.  Am running OS X 10.9.

    Disregard, problem solved.

Ok now I get your requirement.
you cant achieve this -  how one receiver channel can put in two location if you dont have a dynamic configuration defined i.e Adapter specific attributes.
easy way - involve IR mapping
    else
have a adapter module to define your dynamic configuration.
    Ref: /people/daniel.graversen/blog/2006/10/05/dynamic-configuration-in-adapter-modules & /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/10/09/xi-dynamic-configuration-in-adapter-modules--one-step-further
Set the dynamic directory/file name etc for your receiver adapter.

  • DSL line drop problems

I've had BT Broadband for about 2yrs with no problems,  then from the end of January I've had repeated line drops.
The HH recovers sometimes straight away, sometimes after 2 to 5 drops in quick succession.  each time the line speed is good but the connection only lasts a day or so.
I logged a fault and had a engineer check the line - no fault found
I logged another fault and got the HH3 swapped for a HH4
I'm connected the HH to the test socket
    I've replaced the filter
I've run it with no phone
And still after 6 weeks the same problem is there.  My conclusion is that it's somewhere upstream in the exchange as Ican't see what else I can do.
    Any suggestions appreciated

  • DSL Line Rate Q

just wondering what determines your line rate, ive come from having Virgin Media fibre optic, i know very little about ADSL
    my connection is currently:
DSL line rate: 912 Kbps upstream, 8375 Kbps downstream
DSL noise margin: 5.90 dB upstream, 6.10 dB downstream
is it ever likely to change ?
